About CME Group Certification The CME Group electronic trading environment is highly complex and includes orderrouting,tradematchingandmarketdata components. Electronic trading on the CME Globex platform is available virtually aroundtheclockfromSundayafternoonthroughlateFridayafternoon(U.S.CentralTime).WhileitisessentialthattheCMEGlobex platform be flexible and open to accommodate the needs of many different kindsoftradersworldwide,itisalsoessentialthatallsoftwareprogramsinteractingwiththeplatformworktogetherseamlessly.

Therefore, all applications designed to connect to it directly must successfully complete the CME Group certification process before being enabled in the production environment. CME Group and front-endproviderstogethertestallkeyfunction points in regard to connectivity and trading.Inbroadterms,allsoftwarecertifiedfor the CME Globex platform must:

• Properlyreceiveanddisplayallcritical informationaboutthemarket,especially ifaparticularproductortheentiremarket ishaltedduringregularmarkethours.

• HandleconnectivitytoCMEGroupand manage trading sessions in the protocols provided. This includes proper log on, messagesequencingandweeklyresetsas wellasthegracefulhandlingof disconnects and reconnects.

• Becapableofproperorderentryand cancellation,aswellasreceiptofboth orderacknowledgementandfill information.

• Notadverselyimpactthemselvesor othercustomers.Forexample,onetest ensures that client systems can process a “trade bust” message generated via the MarketDataPlatform,i.e.,atrade cancellation from the CME Globex Control Center, to ensure that the system accuratelyreflectsworkingorders.

• Bedesignedanddevelopedtoensure that they do not adversely impact the CMEGroupelectronicmarketsatlarge (eventhoughthesystemisdesignedto minimize any such possibility, there do exist scenarios that could flood the CMEGroupnetworkand/orprocessors, causinglatenciesforothermarket participants).
