Our aim is to provide efficient systems
to better service our customers:
Professional delivery of service
Answering inquiries in a timely
manner.
Having good communication systems
Ensuring staff & customers know the
Allstar policies and procedures.
Ensuring Staff & customers are
working within the Allstar values at all
times in our venue.
We appreciate the commitment by
our staff to add to the athletes
experience in the gym. Therefore
we are committed to the
professional development of our
staff in the different areas of our
business.
We support a range of learning and
send our staff to varied forms of
education and development.
As a business we aim to go the
extra mile for our customers:
Providing well planned and
progressive programs for all
levels and abilities.
Staff who genuinely care
about kids and take the
time to show them they
care about them and their
gymnastics and are great
role models.
CARE
RESPECT CLUB CULTURE COMMUNITY
We value our staff and customers and
expect that our staff will be respectful
when interacting with the children and
their families and our customers will

staff.
All staff, athletes, officials, customers and
family members need to embrace our
Codes of Conduct and values and respect
every aspect of what we as a business
think is important.
We recognise that a good club
culture requires continual

OPPORTUNITY
ATHLETES PARENTS STAFF
Our aim is to provide our athletes with
an opportunity to excel in the Program
that they are in. We know that one goal
does not fit all and appreciate the
different goals each child has.
We want to give our customers the
opportunity to be a part of their
child's gymnastics by providing good
feedback on their progress via
testing, reports and personal
feedback.
We believe that giving our staff
the opportunity to develop as
coaches will not only benefit
them but also their athletes,
families and the business.
We aim to support our staff to deliver
the programs that create the best
opportunities for our athletes.
Parents should work together with
coaches to achieve the best possible
results for their child.
Allstars is keen to support staff
with ongoing education
opportunities.
HAPPY HEALTHY KIDS
HAPPY KIDS HEALTHY KIDS LIFE SKILLS
We believe if our athletes are happy they will learn faster.
They will be motivated and keen to progress.
They will develop and grow as people as they face challenges and learn how to solve problems.
Learning should be fun for all ages and stages. Our staff will plan for ways of making drills, skills & physical preparation fun.
We know that if we ask a child to climb a mountain and walk back down they wouldn't want to do it many times but if we put a giant slide on the other side they would do it over and over again. We want to incorporate the slide as much as we can.
Allstars want to promote a healthy lifestyle for all our members.
It is our goal to get kids moving and to learn the value of movement.
What we do can influence a child's perception of movement and sport for their lifetime.
Our staff educate their athletes on the benefits of a healthy diet and knowing the value of what they eat.
We want to keep our athletes injury free so we are committed to providing safe progressive programs.
We know that without challenge there is no change, so we want to prepare our athletes to look at a challenge in a positive way and see the value of working towards a solution and their goals.
Our sport is a great context to strengthen a child's emotional intelligence.
We want to encourage our athletes in different areas to prepare them for lifes challenges (for example: time management, problem solving, leadership qualities etc.)

WELCOME Welcome to Allstars and to the Fantastic sport of Gymnastics !
We trust that you will enjoy your time with us and discover all the great benefits that gymnastics will bring to your child's growth and development.
Our vision is to provide a center of excellence for Gymnastics which promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of every child.
Positive movement experiences can influence a child’s outlook on physical activity for life. We want to provide positive healthy physical opportunities for our athletes both competitive and non competitive. We try and set realistic expectations for successful performance and achievement knowing that success can be presented in many different ways.
ALLSTARS ALLSTARS is a registered business and is not run by a committee, but managed by a team that take care of the day to day running of our programs.
We are supported by a Parents and Friends Association which does fundraising activities to help with various projects.
CLUB REGISTRATION Allstars is affiliated with Gymnastics Australia and Gymnastics Queensland.
We have to abide by their codes of conduct and athlete policies. Our athletes have to abide by their competition regulations when they attend sanctioned events.
POLICIES We will include some of our policies in this Handbook but you can also view our policies online on our website. (www.allstargymnastics.com.au)
We would ask that you abide by these policies so everyone can enjoy their time at Allstars.
MEMBERSHIP All athletes who enroll at Allstars are then registered with Gymnastics Australia. The registration fee changes from year to year depending on the governing bodies.
By becoming a member of our governing bodies you are being counted as an active participant in Gymnastics and assisting Gymnastics Australia to meet your child’s growing needs as an athlete.
Primarily Gymnastics Australia provides members with insurance coverage in the case of an accident or injury for expenses not covered by Medicare.
COACHING STAFF All coaches employed by Allstars hold a qualification under the Australian Coaching Council’s National Coaches Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) or are in the process of gaining accreditation.
Coaches who are in training are under the supervision of a qualified coach. Some of our coaches may also hold tertiary qualifications in Physical Education. Accreditation procedures also require that coaches hold a current Senior First Aid certificate or equivalent and a blue card.
Many of our younger coaches possess up to date technical expertise in gymnastics as a result of many recent years of intensive training as competitors.
It is a requirement of employment with Allstar Gymnastics and Gymnastics Australia that coaches participate in regular in-house and external training sessions and updating workshops each year to remain accredited.
We believe that our focus on Education and training is what makes the difference to our coaching team.

CLASS
PROGRESSION &
GRADUATIONS
Each class within our facility requires testing to be completed before a
gymnast progresses to the next level.
Gymfun, MAGnificent and General Gymnastics testing is performed each term throughout the year. We ensure the gymnasts have achieved each skill to a satisfactory level before awarding a pass to ensure an easy transition to the next level
Sometimes gymnasts are required to repeat a level. This does not mean they have “failed” but require further skills to enable a smooth transition to the next level. Many children throughout their life will be required to repeat and continue on the same level
The National Level Program enables the lower levels (boys - level 1 & 2, girls - level 1 to 3) to be tested at an in-house competition. Coaches are the best people to recommend and nominate when a gymnast is ready to levels test
In the higher levels gymnasts have to compete at state sanctioned events to gain the passing score set by Gymnastics Australia. When a gymnast passes a level it means they are competent at their current level and does not automatically mean they start working towards the next level
Progressions or Graduations will be notified via your re enrolment forms

BENEFITS OF
GYMNASTICS
FOR THE BRAIN
John Ratey MD, author of Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and
the Brain, calls exercise “Miracle-Gro for the brain”
It elevates neurotransmitters, stimulates neuron growth, and builds the
brain’s infrastructure
Children need to be engaged in physically challenging activities, 30 - 60
minutes per day
For younger and older children gymnastics is a valuable brain-booster
A University of Illinois (Champagne-Urbana) study indicates that 10 year
olds who are physically fit perform better on a variety of cognitive tests
than their out-of-shape peers
MRI scans determined that the hippocampus – a brain region that
contributes to spatial reasoning and memory – was 12 percent larger in the
children who exercised
TRAINING
OUTFITS
Your child will need the following clothes for training:
Shorts / singlet / T Shirt (boys)
Sleeveless Leotards/ togs / Bike pants /Bike Pants & Crop Top (girls)
Its important that your child can go upside down and not have their
clothes falling down
Please make sure in winter that your child has warm clothes to put on at
the end of training as well as shoes

Injuries occur from time to time and while the coaching staff do everything they can
to avoid them they will inevitably happen at some stage of an athlete’s career. It is
important to get it diagnosed and treated in a timely fashion with the Physios and
Doctors who are familiar with the sport of Gymnastics.
Athletes are expected to attend and modify their training when they are injured

SPECIAL NEEDS Coaching or working with children with special needs may require more frequent physical contact and touch as a means of meeting the duty of care to them. Please let us know if your child has special needs so we can recommend the best class for them and prepare the coaches.
Touch may be an agreed form of communication between a child, their parent
and coach where the child has a communication disability
Coaches may need to be more vigilant and thoughtful in their physical
interactions and different approaches may be required. However, the basic
practices and information outlined previously remain applicable to all children
At Allstars we have a duty of care to protect children from physical and
emotional harm and, while the ways of meeting this duty may differ for
different groups, the duty itself remains unqualified
Everyone expected to meet this duty should do so in a manner that respects
the dignity of all children as well as their vulnerabilities
CULTURAL
CONSIDERATIONS
Different cultures have different attitudes and traditions surrounding the concept
of appropriate touch. Gymnastics requires hands on correction and spotting to
assist in skill learning. Please inform our staff if your child has any special
considerations.
It is important that our staff know so they can appreciate culturally specific
expectations regarding touch so that embarrassment or offence can be
avoided for everyone
If children (and families) have escaped traumatic circumstances, considerable
diplomacy, care and effort in early interactions will take place once Allstars
have been made aware of any special considerations that need to be applied
Allstars will take every care when we have been made aware of families
culture needs and requests and to establish understanding and respect so
your child can participate in the sport of gymnastics
PRIVACY Allstars adheres to the Gymnastics Australia Member Protection Policy, which
aims to ensure core values and attitudes are maintained. It assists in ensuring that
every person involved with Allstar is treated with respect and dignity and is safe
and protected from abuse.
This policy also ensures that everyone involved with Allstars is aware of his or her
legal and ethical rights and responsibilities.
The Gymnastics Australia Member Protection Policy supports a commitment to
eliminating discrimination, harassment, child abuse and other forms of
inappropriate behaviour from the sport of gymnastics. As part of this
commitment, Allstars will take disciplinary action against any person or
organisation in breach of this policy.
A copy of the Gymnastics Australia Member Protection Policy is in the Member’s
Area of the Allstar Website or on the Gymnastics Australia website.
COMPLAINTS We are happy to hear if you have some feedback for us, to ensure we are making
any necessary changes to policy or practices that will ensure an excellent
gymnastics experience for our members. Please download a complaint form from

ALLSTARS
LEADERSHIP
PROGRAM
Allstars Leadership Program allows young athletes to develop a range of
leadership skills in a Gymnastics context. It also prepares participants for a career
or casual employment in Coaching, Judging or Sports Administration.
One of the greatest challenges facing every sport is the maintenance of an
effective volunteer structure. Volunteerism is alive and well especially for athletes
who are retiring from training or still training. It gives them an opportunity to give
back to their sport and be mentors for the young club members.
When the applicants are finished the program they will be qualified in their
beginners and three quarters the way through their Intermediate Coaching
qualification.
Allstars is prepared to fund our successful applicants through the program if they
are committed to its completion. We will take 10 applicants in 2019 and 10 in
2020. Athletes do not have to be in the competitive program, they can come from
any class.
Applicants must be:
minimum of 14 years old
2 years to complete
Applicants that are 15 years or older:
complete it in one year.
HOW TO APPLY Application Forms can be found on the website and will need to be lodged in
November of each year.
Applicants will need to be able to commit to a self paced program and complete
all sections of the program.
SPONSORSHIP
OPPORTUNITIES
The Allstars P & F has sponsorship opportunities available for local
businesses and has a range of packages that would suit small to larger
businesses. The goals of this sponsorship is to make Allstars a great place
to be including some of the goals on our wish list:
We would love to have a world class facility in Toowoomba that our
regional communities can use, our athletes can thrive in while
providing a place where we will attract highly experienced staff.
It would be great if we could send our Queensland and National
representatives away to events without the financial stress on their
families.
We would love to be a centre of excellence in our region with
programs catering for the needs of all our members from the
youngest (6 weeks) to the oldest (92)
It would be great to be the preferred venue for all events across the
Darling Downs
We would love to provide specialised equipment for our members
with extra needs.
Come in and get a Prospectus today to get actively involved!

ZERO TOLERANCE Allstar has zero tolerance of child abuse, which means we will treat all allegations of
child abuse and/or misconduct with a child seriously, consistently and with a high degree
of sensitivity. Allstar acknowledges that every child has the right to be heard, protected
and supported and to have their concerns managed appropriately and with sensitivity.
Allstar will use its best endeavors to seek to resolve the concerns of the child and/or
their family in accordance with this policy.
STAFF &
RECRUITMENT
All staff employed by Allstar are required to have a current Working with Children Blue
Card or a current police check. These cards are checked at every Gymnastics QLD event
and validated each year.
All staff are required to show this card at every competition they attend and cannot
register with Gymnastics Australia without it.
Staff have to do a mandatory Child Safety Course before their annual technical
membership is renewed. This educates our staff on the guidelines for child safety.
Staff must meet all legislated mandatory reporting requirements;
Staff follow the process outlined in Gymnastics Australia's Child Safety Policy when
reporting abuse and failure to report is considered serious misconduct.
TRAINING AND
EDUCATION
Training and education is essential to ensure that staff understand that child safety is our
priority and everyone’s responsibility. Allstar is committed to ensuring our staff follow
all the necessary guidelines and policies associated with child safety.
CRIMINAL ACTION Staff employed by Allstar or volunteers who are charged with or investigated by police
for criminal matters relating to child abuse or placing Children at risk, may be dismissed,
suspended or Gymnastics Australia may add conditions to their technical membership.
ALLEGATIONS AND
REPORTING
In receiving a concern, or allegation of child abuse/misconduct with a child, you can
immediately refer the matter to our Member Protection Officer or our business owner,
who will make a determination, based on thorough criteria, as to whether the matter
should be reported to the appropriate authority.
The person handling the allegation won’t assess the validity of any allegation or concerns
but rather listen to the complainant, stay calm and supportive and act promptly to
ensure the matter is dealt with appropriately and in accordance with this policy.
PARENT CHILD
INVOLVEMENT
Allstar will promote the involvement and participation of children in developing and
maintaining child-safe environments.
Allstar will involve children when making decisions about matters that directly affect
them, when appropriate.
Allstar will listen to their views and respect what they have to say.
Allstar will refer children and families to the appropriate authorities if the circumstances
arise or if they need further support.
SUPPORT If an allegation of child abuse has been made to Allstar we will handle the complaint
respectfully and will offer support to all the persons involved (Complainant, Respondent,
staff involved etc.). The designated person handling the complaint will take on the
responsibility of offering support and making all necessary arrangements. The type of
support offered will be assessed on a case by case basis.
CONFIDENTAILLY
& PRIVACY
Allstar expects all applicable persons to maintain the confidentiality and privacy of all
concerned (including the alleged offender), except if doing so would compromise the
welfare of the child or the investigation of the allegation.
COMMUNICATION It is important to Allstar to communicate and provide an update about the outcome of a
complaint to the relevant and appropriate parties in a timely manner.

TOURS - STAFF When Allstar athletes are on tour, we will follow the following guidelines:
Allstar staff, where possible, will not be accommodated in apartments with the
athletes unless they have been selected as a chaperone.
Staff will be present with the athletes for competition, training, and sometimes at
meals and activities but will not be supervising the care of athletes in their rooms.
This will be the responsibility of appointed chaperones.
Staff will be respectful of athletes privacy and will endeavor to understand the
individual needs of the athlete regarding culture and values.
TOURS -
CHAPERONES
When Allstar is choosing chaperones to assist on tours we will follow these selection criteria:
The commitment and attention to Allstar policies.
Chaperones, managers and volunteers must have a current Working with Children
Blue Card or current police check which Allstar will keep a copy of.
The ability of the chaperone to care for a group of athletes.
The ability to follow a schedule, manage children and follow the instructions of the
Team Manager and Coaches.
Chaperones will be responsible for the day to day duties associated with meal
preparation, competition attire, commitment to training and competition schedules.
Chaperones will be respectful of the diversity of childrens race, religion and culturally
diverse home environments and will take instructions from parents if there are
certain things children in their care cannot watch, do or participate in. If there is an
activity however the child cannot participate in, they would still have to travel with
the team to that activity.
CHAPERONES
GUIDELINES
Chaperones are expected to follow Allstar Child Safety Policy while away with a team on
tour.
Chaperones will be placed in charge of an allocated group of athletes. These athletes
are not usually the chaperones own child.
Chaperones are responsible for the care and supervision of these groups and will be
put in accommodation with children. When possible chaperones will have their own
room depending on the style of accommodation.
The care of the athletes is Allstars priority on all trips as well as providing a great
team environment to have lots of fun and make some great memories.
Teaching the athletes life skills and being responsible for their gear, meeting
deadlines and learning to help when needed is a great way to help the athlete grow
and handle the demands of travelling and competing.
COACH ATHLETE
MEETINGS
Closed room meetings between athlete and coach must have 2 adults present at all times. If
it’s a meeting regarding behavior or issues involving training matters, then parents will be
informed.
MEDICAL
INCIDENTS
If an athlete sustains an injury at a competition, the coach in charge will not allow the
athlete to be alone in a treatment room with medical staff. The coach will be present at all
times with the athlete, if the parent is not available. If an inujury occurs in the gym we
would have 2 staff present.
P & F EVENTS When the Parents and Friends Association run events, children of volunteers will remain in
the care and supervision of their parent / guardian or nominated person. Allstar will not be
responsible for supervision of minors at these events.
COMPLAINT
HANDLING
STEP 1: If you have a complaint about any aspects of child safety please send an email to
the business owner or ring the office to make an appointment to see them. Alternatively
you can make a time to speak to the Member Protection Officer (details on the noticeboard)
STEP 2: Download the complaint form from the website (members portal) or the school
stream app and either post or email to the business owner or Member Protection Officer
and we will go through the process of assessing the complaint.

OTHER TIPS
• School Stream uses Push Notifications to deliver you information. When asked be sure you say yes to push notifications.
• If a new notification is received while using the app, you can view the recent notifications from the red badge icon in the top right.
• The Recent Updates item in the slide-in menu will show all the recent notifications.
• School Stream requires location permissions so we can provide map functionality for events. Enable location access so you have access to map directions.
• iPhone/iPad: You can customise the way a push notification is delivered by opening your iPhone Settings > Notifications > School Stream and choosing an option.
• If you are experiencing problems or feel you are missing notifications, try this quick process to refresh
the app. Slide right to open the slide-in menu > Settings > Clear Data > Clear All >Back/Done. This resets
your app and will refresh all content. Note: This will also remove your group notification preferences.
Smart devices are just like a computer, when too many apps are open performance is affected in many
different ways. Force closing apps and occasional resets of your device will ensure the best performance
and prevent some problems.
