Bolaji AkinboroCEO, Cellulant NigeriaBolaji Akinboro, is the Chief of Party, Nigeria team (GES) Cellulant Corporation. The Growth Enhancement Support (GES) Program is a component of Transformation Agenda of the Federal Government of Nigeria in the agriculture. It seeks to lift 20 Million poor farmers out of subsistence into self-sufficiency from the 6 geopolitical zones in 36 months and

leverages Cellulants E-wallet technology to create distribution and market efficiency whilst eliminating corruption in the value chain for the supply of  Agro-Inputs. In the past 24 months; this e-wallet system has rendered service to more than 8 million farmers and has processed more than $400,000,000 of subsidy payments on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria and the States Governments.

Angela BakerSenior Manager, Government Affairs, QualcommAngela Baker has over ten years of local, statewide and national political experience. Currently, she is a Senior Manager with Qualcomm Wireless Reach, a strategic program that brings wireless technology to underserved communities globally. Her areas of focus are mobile education and she oversees Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Latin

America portfolios. Previously, she served as an adviser in Secretary Hillary Clinton’s Office of Innovation at the United States Department of State, where she worked on foreign policy goals connected to the 21st Century Statecraft agenda through bilateral and multilateral engagement with strategic partners on technology and development issues.

Christopher BurnsSenior Advisor and Team Lead for Digital Inclusion, Digital Development, Global Development Lab, USAIDChristopher Burns is the Senior Advisor and Team Lead for Digital Inclusion with the Digital Development team in the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Global Development Lab, focusing on issues of awareness, affordability and connectivity that

underpin wider mobile adoption across the developing world. In his 4.5 years with USAID, he has spearheaded – and currently serves as technical lead for – the GSMA mWomen Program and the Alliance for Affordable Internet. Immediately prior to USAID, Christopher spent nearly ten years with the Peace Corps, as Program and Training Officer for Peace Corps/Niger, Country Desk Officer for Central Asia, and Agro-Forestry Advisor in Ghana. He has supervisory and management experience and technical background in mobile technology and ICTs, natural resources management, agro-forestry, food security, gender integration and solar power design/installation.

Laurie CumboCouncil Member, City of New YorkLaurie Cumbo is Chair of the Committee on Women’s Issues, which supports organizations that empower women and introduces critical legislation to improve the quality of life for all women and families. Ms. Cumbo was born and raised in Brooklyn, and received her Master’s Degree in Visual Arts Administration from New York University. As a cultural leader, entrepreneur, activist, college professor, educator, lecturer and small

business owner working in the not-for-profit sector, Ms. Cumbo has dedicated her life to community development and preserving the dynamic elements of diversity that make Brooklyn, New York what it is today. Ms. Cumbo’s dedication to underserved communities and bringing people of all backgrounds together to discover their commonalities continues to be at the forefront of her priorities.

Gary FowlieHead of the Liaison Office to the United Nations for the International Telecommunication UnionMr. Fowlie is an Economist and Journalist. Prior to joining the International Telecommunication Union in 2000, Mr. Fowlie worked for Microsoft and the global consulting firm of Hill and Knowlton. Mr. Fowlie was responsible for communications and member relations for the UN World Summit on the Information Society and from 2005 until 2009 was the Chief of Media Liaison for the United Nations in New York. He is a graduate

of the University of Alberta and the London School of Economics.

Maria GalindoCoordinator of the Urban Habitat Department, Barcelona City CouncilMiss Galindo has worked at the Government of Catalonia, where she developed strategic planning tasks, as well as an evaluation methodology to assess the impact of R&D and Innovation policies. She also has worked at the Studies Service at a Financial Institution, where she carried out economic research and financial analysis. She studied Economics at the University of Barcelona and the London School of Economics and

holds an Executive Master in Public Administration (ESADE Business School). She has published a paper on evaluation for the American Evaluation Association and is the author of the Catalonia’s Annual R&D and Innovation Report 2011.

Louise M. GuidoCEO and Managing Partner, ChangeCorp, Inc.Louise M. Guido is the CEO and Managing Partner of ChangeCorp, a social enterprise that provides content solutions for mobile technology in emerging markets. ChangeCorp targets a growing population of ‘mobile-only-users’ offering educational content in life skills, communication skills, financial literacy, health, parenting and business. ChangeCorp’s flagship mobile service, The SmartWoman Project, provides an education experience to urban and rural women business-owners on a variety of topics, including life and communication skills, banking and finance, health, family, and work/life balance. SmartWoman will be launched in Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, and many other countries in

the emerging markets. Ms. Guido also is the founder of the Foundation for Social Change – a not-for-profit organization that focuses on teaching women and girls life and business skills training.

Gillian JavetskiSenior Program Analyst, DimagiGillian Javetski is a senior program analyst at Dimagi, a socially conscious technology company that develops scalable ICT solutions for low-resource settings. At Dimagi, Gillian has managed mobile health projects in over 15 countries, focusing particularly on West Africa. She is responsible for managing Dimagi’s global communication activities, including Dimagi’s online presence, developing knowledge and research

products, and generating materials to train users about Dimagi’s technology.

Ravi KarkaraGlobal Advisor Expert Advisor on Children and Youth, UN HabitatRavi is working as the Global Expert Advisor on Children and Youth with UNHABITAT and advising UN Millennium Campaign on child and youth engagement, based in New York. He is the lead author of ground breaking report “Youth 21: Building the Architecture of Youth Engagement in the UN System” (the report mentioned by the UN Secretary General). He represented UNHABITAT as the Co-chair of the UN Interagency Network on Youth Development presently he is the Focal Point on youth in post-2015

in the UN Interagency Network on Youth Development as well as the global focal point for MyWorld2015 UN Global Citizen’s Survey and co-chair of the policy strategy Group on WorldWeWant2015 citizen’s e-platform.

Rebekah LeviICT and Evaluation Specialist, JBS InternationalRebekah is an ICT and Evaluation Specialist at JBS International and the former Head of the Mobiles for Education (mEducation) Alliance Secretariat.  Rebekah played a leading role in the development of the Alliance in its first three years. As the Head of the Secretariat she managed all Alliance activities including research, partnership building, knowledge management, Alliance events and launch and support of the three

mEducation working groups (Mobiles for Reading, Mobiles for Youth Workforce Development, and mEducation for Numeracy). Rebekah is a member of JBS’s gender team and has extensive experience working both internationally and in the field of education. She has evaluated many education projects and initiatives and provided ongoing technical assistance to USAID/Washington and Missions around the world.

Júlia López Ventura Barcelona Smart City Strategy coordinator, Barcelona City CouncilJúlia López is coordinator of Smart City strategies in the Barcelona City Council since October 2012. Her personal interests are focused on studying how the application of new technologies can affect the life in the city, specially following the evolution of Intelligent and Smart City projects all around the world, and applying this knowledge to the coordination of Smart City projects in the city of Barcelona.

Ran MakavyDirector of Product Management, FacebookRan has been a leader and pioneer in mobile products and emerging markets for the past 10 years.  He was the founder and CEO of Snaptu, which was acquired by Facebook in 2011. Snaptu enables low-end phones to run mobile apps with great user experience, thereby, removing a major barrier in Internet adoption in emerging markets. At Facebook, Ran grew Snaptu to over 100 million active users, and is now responsible for building Facebook’s international user base, focusing on removing the financial and accessibility barriers blocking Internet adoption. He currently resides in San Francisco.

Before Facebook, Ran lived and worked in Israel, London, Australia and the US working at Odigo (acquired by Comverse) and Followap (acquired by NeuStar). Ran holds a computer science degree and MBA.

Victor MulasICT Specialist, The World BankVictor Mulas is ICT Innovation Specialist at the World Bank. His work specializes in implementing and providing technical and operational assistance for the development open innovation and co-creation in governments, particularly in cities (as part of smart cities), and development of innovation ecosystems. His work also involves operational engagement, advisory work, policy analysis and strategy in open government, bottom-up innovation and broadband-led innovation and entrepreneurship.

Perisa RastanovicPlatform Manager, WorldreaderPeriša is responsible for Worldreader’s mobile platform development. He works with local and international ICT partners to ensure access to books through mobile phones to thousands of readers across the globe. Periša holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Singidunum University as well as Master’s degrees in Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies of the Erasmus University

Rotterdam and in International Relations from the Institut Barcelona D’Estudis Internacionals.

Judithe RegistreProgram Director, Because I am a Girl, Plan International USAJudithe has more than 20 years of professional experience including 12 years of substantive field work, living and working in conflict, post-conflict, and developing countries, including Rwanda, Sudan, South Africa, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where she established the Women for Women International (WfWI) DRC office. Judithe is currently the Program Director for Plan International USA’s Because I am a Girl initiative and has travelled extensively across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. As the Program Director for the Because I am Girl Campaign she works

to ensure that programs take into consideration the unique needs and potential of adolescent girls and by implication the needs for adolescent boys to ensure gender equality.

Kristen RoggemannStrategic Partnerships Manager, mWomen, GSMA

Before joining GSMA, Kristen held business development and product advisory positions within a variety of mobile for development and international development organizations, most recently as an Innovation Specialist for USAID’S Grand Challenges for Development initiative. Prior to working for USAID, Kristen was the Business Development Manager at Souktel, Inc. in Palestine and a consultant for The Bridgespan

Group in New York. Kristen has extensive experience in the Middle East and Africa working on mobile for development and humanitarian relief projects, including a Fulbright Scholarship to study women’s literacy in Morocco. Kristen has a BA from Columbia University and a Ed.M in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education."

Mamta RodriguesVice President, Global Mobile Product, VISAMamta Rodrigues is a Senior Business Leader, Digital Solutions, at Visa Inc. and is responsible for managing Visa’s payments solutions in emerging markets. This includes supporting the company’s efforts in extending mobile financial and prepaid services to unbanked consumers, identifying innovative solutions and needs in the emerging markets, and managing partnerships with key stakeholders in the multilateral,

government and NGO community. Her goals drive financial inclusion by largely creating payment solutions for the unbanked consumer. In her efforts, Mamta works to develop the full payment ecosystem (acceptance, savings, usage) which will create use-cases for electronic payments, empower the consumer and gain their trust to switch from cash to digital solutions.

Shireen SantoshamSenior Insights Manager, mWomen, GSMA

Shireen Santosham joined the GSMA mWomen Programme in 2013 as the Senior Insights Manager where she oversees the knowledge publication, partnership, and marketing strategy. Prior to joining the programme, she was a strategy consultant at McKinsey and Company where advised multilateral international development institutions, governments, and corporations on strategy, operations, and organizational design. While there, she also helped found the McKinsey Center for Government.

Previously, she worked in impact investing while at Vulcan Capital and served as a technical consultant to a variety of organizations including the Government of Liberia where she advised on rural development policy, Save the Children in Bolivia where she worked on health impact evaluations, and with the conservation organization Oceana where she managed a multi-country market entry feasibility study.

Sophia Tu is a program manager for Corporate Citizenship at IBM, where she helped launch and currently serves as the global team lead for the Smarter Cities Challenge, IBM's largest-ever philanthropic initiative, which provides grants of technical and consulting expertise to city leaders around the world to tackles critical urban challenges. To date, this initiative has made investments valued at over $50 million in

100+ cities around the world, and has received the Chairman's Award from the Committee to Encourage Corporate Philanthropy, making IBM the only company to ever receive the award twice.
