2020 Fair Board Updates

Help kick off our Floyd County Fair Week from 8 am - 12 pm at the Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 11. Ford gives us $20 for each person that test drives a vehicle.

Thank you to Mike Molstead Motors for supporting the Floyd County Fair Tornado Rebuild Project! Save the date and more details to come. #fairstrong

New Buildings Going Up!

Here's a sneak peak at our fair ground updates:

The Little Hands on the Farm Barn is almost complete and does include bath-rooms and showers. Thank you to our grant sponsors that helped cover what insurance did not: Valero, Mid American Energy and Farm Bureau.

The Picnic Patio is almost complete as well and includes electrical. Thank you to those that helped pay for this much needed shade: Farm Credit Services, Wine Pairing and Fallpalooza Fundraisers. We have one more grant that is pending at this time. A huge thank you to Betty Jo Staudt for donating the funds to put a new playground in. This project will be completed in April and is a great addition to our fairgrounds. Currently we have no confirmed start date but there will be a livestock add on that will house all poultry, rabbit and dairy during this year's fair.

A food stand update: the fair board has voted to combine the food stand and the brick building into one that will house entertainment during fair and provide indoor air conditioned seating while eating as well. This building will be used as a rental option throughout the summer months and storage during the winter months to generate revenue. We are just in the early planning stages and trying to get estimates in hand. The 4H food stand committee will be hosting a number of fundraising opportunities to help complete this much needed building and we will be seeking grant funding as well. If you would like to donate to completing this building, please contact Elaine Poppinga, Lisa Sonberg, Sue Bortz,, Teresa Knecht or Amy Staudt. And last but not least, please save the date and kick off the Ford Drive for your Community with Mike Molstead Motors on July 11 from 8am-12pm. We receive $20 for every person who test drives a vehicle. This will take place at the fair grounds.

We hope you all stay healthy and we will continue to bring you updates as we have them,

The Fair Board
