Hello fine 4-H folk,
I have been busy creating a visiting schedule for all of the clubs and projects in our county. I’ve been to a few already and look forward to meeting more of you! (I really enjoyed helping with the 1
st outdoor dog project meeting of the year.
What fun!)
I also helped with the 4-H tables at the Great Big Hullabaloo this past weekend. What a fun event with the opportunity to reach part of the community that might not be familiar with 4-H. I spoke with several families with kids who seemed to really enjoy the process of creating the string art and encouraged them to look into joining a club. It really got me thinking about how we tell our 4-H story.
I’m curious how you tell people about 4-H. One of my projects for the summer is to work on some promotional materials for our program. I’d love to include your voices. Please e-mail me [email protected] with your name, favorite thing about 4-H and why someone should join 4-H. (I’d love both adult and kid voices.)
I look forward to seeing you at your club or the fair this summer!
Rachel

Club Minutes Eau Claire Clovers May Meeting Minutes
The Eau Claire Clovers May Meeting was on May 19th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The meeting started at 4pm with an energizer led by Beth Berger and Patricia Clark. The energizer itself was a game in which you did a certain activity based off of the color of a jellybean you got. After that Ben led the pledges. Attendance was taken by Patricia Clark. Birthday cards were then given out by Anna Skutley. Patricia Clark read the secretary’s report from the April Meeting, which was then motioned to pass by Anna Skutley and seconded by Avery Pladsen. The spirit cup was awarded to Piper Munion for working the Eau Claire Marathon, Eau Claire Clean Up, and the Pizza Ranch Fundraiser. The treasurer’s report was read by Josie Syverson along with a Budget update which was then motioned to pass by Hannah Klesmit and 2nd by Marshall Meeks.
Old Business: The Eau Claire Clean-up was on April 27th from 9:00am-12:30pm in which the Munions talked about their experience cleaning up. Participants of the Karl Petersen Memorial Shoot talked about their experience at the shoot on April 27th . Along with that the Eau Claire Marathon was held on May 5th. Ben and Anna Skutley talked about how the cheer station went and Patricia Clark talked about how the water station went. After that Ben Skutley talked about the Pizza Ranch Fundraiser on May 8th in which we made in total $248. The clothing Revue was on the the 19th of May. The Club directory is now available, thank you Parkers and Syversons. The Silent Aution basket for the fair was done thanks to Kayla Keith. The fair entry form workshop was cancled on the 9th of May. Old business was motioned to by Anna Skutley and Seconded by Marshall Meeks.
Brain Break: For our Brain Break we played senorita
New Business: To start of new business we met our new program coordinator Rachel Hart-Brinson, who gave us a little introductory talk. Sadly, 4-H camp has been canceled, but next year will be super amazing.
We have some leftover raffle tickets, each family should sell one book, with five tickets for a total of $25. This is our only fundraiser for the fair. All tickets need to be turned into the Syversons by June 3rd.
After this piper requested funds for STEM day camp.
All fair entry forms are due on June 3rd. For the fair, there a volunteers needed on July 22nd, 23rd, and 29th for setup and take down. Along with that, we will need volunteers for the Adult Leader’s Food Stand and the kids day tent. Dates, to be determined. For our Club Booth we still someone who will lead this activity, but we know the Booth will be about the projects our club members participate in. A sign up was passed around to order main street café pies for the fair. There will be an after the fair meeting on august 19th with a 6pm potluck and a 7pm meeting. At this meeting you can make any suggestion to improve the fair. New business was then motioned to pass by Avery Pladsen and 2nd by Ben Skutley.
In the leaders report we were reminded to bring in our pages for the club record book, and if you aren’t able to make your assigned page, please let someone know. Market Match will start on June 1st. If you haven’t done a demo yet, please sign up for one. After the leaders report we had a short pop quiz on what happened throughout the meeting, and then the meeting was adjourned by Ben Skutley and seconded by Hannah Klesmitt. After the meeting we had three demonstrations. One by Marshall Meeks on how to make Mr. Mans, one by Maddie Helverson about hamsters, and one by Sam Gardow on how to make a mini tic tac toe game. This month’s community service project was collecting donations for the Chippewa Valley Wildlife Refuge.

Club Minutes Pleasant Valley’s May Secretary Report
Before the meeting, members, and parents,
enjoyed a game of kickball. Families brought a dish for our potluck so we could eat during the meeting. The meeting was called to order at 7:16 pm by Grace, Tyler lead the pledges, and Rachel did roll call. Connor read the treasurer's report; Nolan made a motion to pass it and Charlie seconded the motion. Rachel read the secretary report for April and it was also passed. Happy birthday to Connor! The club received thank you’s from Feed My People and Friends of the Fair.
In old business, 4-H camp has unfortunately been canceled for this year. Members said they enjoyed making May Day baskets with residents of The Classic. Gavin made a motion to pass the old business and Brooke seconded it. Next anyone that missed demonstrations presented.
In our new business, we picked our fair theme and discussed decorating ideas! Entry forms are due by June 3rd to the Extension Office or entries will be ribbon only. We discussed if we would like to take two shifts on Sunday in the adult food stand or run one shift on Saturday and one on Sunday morning like we have done in the past. If you would like to buy any Fair shirts, please order them by June 10th; see the Cloverleaves for more details on this as well as STEAM Summer Camps. This year each family only needs to bring one pie to the fair. If you would like to purchase a pie from the Main Street Cafe that will be brought to the fair for you, Citizen Washington Focus participants are fundraising for their trip. See the Cloverleaves for more information. We are considering doing a water station for the Eau Claire Marathon next year; the money would go to the participating youth for trips.
Hailey made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Madison seconded it. We adjourned at 7:59pm for a fun getting-to-know each other activity. The Eau Claire County Fair is July 24th-28th, and our next meeting is June 20th at the Community Center.
Respectfully submitted, Rachel Anderson

May Meeting
The meeting and cloverbud activities were held at the Pleasant Valley Community Center. Before the
meeting, cloverbuds and other members made rockets out of pool noodles & foam and also did a balloon ac-
tivity. Thank you to Dana Ray and her daughters for organizing this activity. The meeting was called to order
by Teresa and pledges were said. Roll call was taken by saying what you are looking forward to this summer.
We sang Happy Birthday to Rosie. The secretary’s report was read and a motion was made by Lindsay and
seconded by June to accept the report. The treasurer’s report was also read.
For old business, there were activity reports for Gem & Mineral Show, Empty Bowls, Clothing Re-
vue and Space Camp. We also decided on two more dates for doing Empty Bowls as a club on June 2nd and
29th from 1-3 pm at Whispering Pines Ceramics. Raffle tickets and money were due. The Humane Society is
booked through this year so we will be unable to volunteer there. There was no update on the Lighthouse and
may postpone this to next year also. There was no other old business.
For new business, the club started to plan our June meeting, which will take place on June 9th at 3
pm. We plan to stop at club member’s homes that have larger projects to show. Please let Wendy or the
Wathke Family know if you would like us to stop at your home. After the club tour, we will have a meeting
and potluck at Kyle & Christine Wathke’s. A motion to buy s’mores supplies for the potluck was made by Ada
and seconded by Chanel. The club will also provide beverages, plates & utensils. We have 4-H on the Air in
July. We will finalize volunteers at the June meeting. The club decided on a fair booth idea of “blast from the
past” throwback theme about 4-H through the years. Lindsay and Emma will be Co-Chairs of organizing this.
Bring ideas to the next meeting. The club discussed ideas for the Silent Auction donation and decided on do-
ing a toy tractor. Motion by Emma, seconded by Ada to set a budget of $75. Christine volunteered to organ-
ize the donation. Members were told about the CWF trip pie fundraiser. The pies will be delivered to the fair
(each family was reminded they need to donate one pie to the fair). A sign-up sheet was passed around to
order pies from Teresa. There was no other new business.
For youth leader’s report, Allison talked about their food safety training before the meeting, fair olym-
pics and fairly good games planning, and OYC’s silent auction basket.
For leader’s report, families were reminded that Eau Claire County 4-H apparel orders are due by
June 1st. Fair entry deadline is 4:30 pm on June 3rd. The club discussed what shifts they would prefer for
the Adult Leaders Food Stand at the fair. Members were also reminded that the 4-H fiscal year ends June
30th, and if you have a request for reimbursement to bring them to the June meeting. People were also re-
minded of the Market Match Sign-Up, Blugold Beginnings camps, and STEAM camps.
The meeting was adjourned for snacks, the motion was made by Emma and seconded by Lillian. Submitted by Allison Duerkop
