WHAT IS CLOUD COMPUTING? Cloud computing is internet based computing that provide shared

computer processing of resources and data

Page 3: Cloud computing AND SAP HANA

TYPE OF CLOUD Public :

It allows systems and services to be easily accessible to the general public. Public cloud may be less secure because of its openness. ability to scale continuously on demand. Eg: Youtube and other blogs.

Private : Private clouds are built exclusively for a single enterprise. allows systems and services to be accessible within an organization. Eg: Gmail account , google pixel etc

Hybrid : with Hybrid Cloud, service providers can utilize 3rd party cloud provider in a full or

partial manner thus “increasing the flexibility of computing” .eg: google drive(share and can be accessed by 3rd party)

ARCHITECTURE OF CLOUD

CLOUD SERVICES IAAS,PAAS,SAAS Allow user to run application and store data online.

IaaS (Infrastructure as a services):

Provide virtual environment and infrastructure. IaaS customers pay on a per-use basis, typically by the hour, week or

month. Some providers also charge customers based on the amount of virtual machine space they use.

Eg; monsoon.

PaaS : (Platform as a services)

Provide platform and environment to allow developer to built application and services over the internet.

Hosted in cloud and accessed via web browser. Eg: hcp, jpaas,os, server side scripting, hosting etc.

SaaS : (software as a service) Is an application which can be accessed from anywhere in the world through

internet on your system. No additional hardware is required. Eg : Gmail, yahoo, Hotmail, hci etc.. Provide security .(SSL encryption , cryptographic protocol).

SAP HANA SAP HANA is a combination of software and hardware to process huge

amount of real time data. an “In-memory” ,”Column-oriented” ,”Rational DBMS” developed and

marketed by SAP. In memory DB keeps all the data in RAM so it is easy and faster to work.

Application : OLTP (Online Transaction Processing System) : OLAP (Online Analytical Processing System)

WHAT IS HCP(HANA CLOUD PLATFORM) ?PaaS offering

Build, extend, run, and operate apps in the cloud

Multiple language for runtimeJava SAP HANA XS HTML5

Services Persistence (Data storage).Document (Repository for structured and semi structured).Security (Secure).Connectivity (Connecting Sap vs non-sap systems).

ORCHESTRATOR Orchestrator is a workflow management solution for the data

center. Orchestrator lets automate the creation, monitoring, and deployment of resources in your environment.

JPAASJpaas is a platform for developing and deploying cloud based application.SAP provide a development platform called JPAAS.

NAGIOS Its an open source computer-software application that monitors systems,

networks and infrastructure. Nagios offers monitoring and alerting services for servers, switches, applications and services.

It alerts users when things goes wrong and alerts them a second time when the problem has been resolved.

Monitoring of network services like (HTTP, SSH)
