In Quebec and Ontario, Cascades uses these materials to manufacture brand new products at its local paper mills. The products are then sold back to Costco directly or to brands supplying Costco and found in the warehouses. This partnership promotes product circularity. Cascades supplies to brand owners: • Boxes • Shelf-ready packaging • Slip sheets In 2018, by recycling part of its corrugated packaging with Cascades to manufacture new products, rather than using virgin material,* Costco helped reduce GHG emissions and the use of natural resources. 130,334 TONNES OF CO 2 EQ The equivalent of removing more than 28,000 cars off the road for a year** (average size passenger vehicles) 919,500 MATURE TREES Close to 6 times the size of Discovery Park in Seattle or 4 times the size of Central Park in NY 561M GALLONS OF WATER Equivalent to more than 100 million water cooler bottles
