Animportantareaofexpertiseformanyclinicalpsychologistsisassessment,andthereareindicationsthatasmanyas91%ofpsychologistsutilizethiscoreclinicalpractice.Thereislittleunanimityontheextenttowhichpsychiatricdisordersisuniversalortheextenttowhichtheydifferontheircoredefinitions.Thiscontroversycontinuesduetothelackofbiologicalmarkers,estimated measurement and the lack of a gold standard for validating most psychiatricconditions. Diagnosis and prognosis is the identification of diseases by the examination ofsymptomsandsigns, thefunction,theexpectedduration,andadescriptionofthe initiationanddevelopmentof thedisease, suchas intermittentcrisis,progressivedecline,or sudden,unpredictablecrisis.Methodsinvolvedinpsychiatryincludebotholdtraditionalandadvancedmethodsforassessment.Underpresenttopicfromsimplephysicalexaminationtoadvancedneuroimagingtechniquescanbehighlighted.

Track 9: Therapeutic Approaches and Advancements

Psychotherapy is often used either alone or in combination with medications to treatmental illnesses. Nowadays extraordinary advances have beenmade in the treatment ofmental illness. Treatment methods for psychiatric disorders can be differentiated as eithersomatic or psychotherapeutic. We will be discussing about somatic treatments includingdrugs,electroconvulsive therapy,anddeepbrain stimulationsuchasTranscranialmagneticstimulation therapy on psychotherapeutic treatments including psychotherapy, behaviortherapy techniques such as Dialectricalbehavior therapy, hypnotherapy and mindfulness-basedtherapies.

Neuro psychotherapy (NPT) is a term that summarizes and integrates neuroscientificknowledgeinavarietyofapplicationsandtreatments.Neuropsychotherapyusesevidencebased neuroscience and emotional impairments.
