clinical pathwaysclinical pathwaysSome say that the patient care process is a process that is full of art "high value". we look at the fact that in caring for patients, doctors sometimes provide services that varies according to science and "feel" they have., This variation is necessary, considering each patient also has a variety of conditions when the body reacts to drug and disease.Clinical pathway is a flow that shows in detail the essential stages of health services including the expected results. Simply we can say that clinical pathways is a workflow that illustrates the process started when the patient admission to return of the patient. Clinical pathways provide minimum service standards and ensure that the services are not forgotten and timely execution. Clinical pathways have many other names such as: Critical care pathways, integrated care pathway, Coordinated care pathway, Caremaps, or Anticipated recovery pathway.Clinical Pathwaysclinical pathwaysAccording to dr. Hanevi Djasri, MARS, consultant of UGM, there are around seven key goal of implementing clinical pathways:(1)choose the best practice patterns of a wide variety of patterns of practice,(2) sets the standards expected of treatment duration and should use of clinical procedures,(3) assess the relationship between the various stages and different conditions in a process and develop a strategy to coordinate in order to produce a faster service with fewer stages,

(4) provide information to all staff involved on a common goal that must be achieved from a service and what their role in the process,(5) provides a framework for collecting and analyzing data service process so that providers can determine how often and why a patient does not get service in accordance with the standards,(6)reduces the burden of clinical documentation(7)improve patient satisfaction through enhanced patient education (eg by providing more accurate information about the service plan).

clinical pathwaysConventionally, clinical pathways are written in matrix form with aspects of the service on the one hand, and the time of service on the other. The time interval is usually in a matter of days following the daily clinical instruction, but this can vary depending on the journey and progression of the disease or actions (eg, clinical pathways for chronic diseases may choose a time interval of a week or month). Generally clinical pathways developed for the diagnosis or actions that are "high-volume", "high-risk" and "high-cost". Clinical pathways developed in the hospital, but is now gradually been introduced to other health care facilities such as nursing home and home healthcareclinical pathwaysWith the implementation of clinical pathways, expected patient actually received the services required under the condition that the costs incurred can be according to the treatment received and the expected results. The presence of clinical pathways can also help doctors when performing maintenance. Details of the stages listed in patient care clinical pathways can be a guide to the doctor when "action". .
