iMIMS for Apple and MIMS for Android

1. Download iMIMS from the App Store or MIMS for Android on the Google Play Store. Links to these can be found by navigating to the CIAP website at www.ciap.health.nsw.gov.au and selecting ‘Mobile’ from the top menu.

2. Register for an enterprise token number by from the ‘Enterprise Token’ button on the ‘Mobile’ page on CIAP. Select your device type, enter your email address and follow the prompts. Remember to keep your token number.

3. Open the app on your device and select ‘Login (Token Required)’ under the Enterprise Users Only section.

4. Enter your new enterprise token number. The app is now ready to use.

RenewalYour MIMS app will need to be renewed on an annual basis. To renew your account, simply follow step 2 which will renew your token number and then follow step 3 when the app prompts for you to login again. You will be sent a reminder email with these instructions in detail when renewal is required.

The iMIMS and MIMS for Android apps provide full and abbreviated drug information for pharmaceuticals available in Australia. It also provides access to drug interaction information and a pill identification tool.

The iMIMS and MIMS for Android apps provide full and abbreviated drug information for pharmaceuticals available in Australia. It also provides access to drug interaction information and a pill identification tool.

Multiple devices and iMIMS / MIMS for Android

Multiple DevicesYour enterprise token number can be used to load iMIMS or MIMS for Android onto two devices; for example your phone and tablet. If you have more than two devices, or you update or replace one of your devices, you will need to deactivate the MIMS app for that device, so that you can use it on the new one.

1. Navigate to the CIAP website at www.ciap.health.nsw.gov.au

2. Select ‘Mobile’ from the top menu.

3. Select the ‘Manage Multiple Devices’ button under the MIMS app section, select your device type and use your enterprise token to login to the ‘MIMS app on too many devices?’ link.

4. Select the device you wish to deactivate and select ‘deactivate’.

5. You can now use the token again for your new device, or re-activate it for the current device at any time by selecting ‘Activate’.

UpToDate for Iphone/Android

1. Download UpToDate from the App Store or Google Play Store. Links to the app can be found by navigating to the CIAP website at www.ciap.health.nsw.gov.au and selecting ‘Mobile’ from the top menu.

2. You will need to register for an UpToDate account in order to have mobile access. To register from within a NSW facility, you must use the UpToDate link within the CIAP Portal and create an account. If you are not on a NSW Health Computer, you will first need to log in to CIAP using the Offsite Login link.

3. Open the UpToDate app on your device and you will be presented with the below screen (1) to which you must enter your UpToDate username and password. These details will only need to be entered on first use.

4. Once logged in, you will see the home page of UpToDate mobile below (2). To maintain access to UpToDate on your mobile device, you will need to log in to UpToDate from a NSW Health Network computer via CIAP at least once every six months.

UpToDate is a highly authoritative, evidence-based and peer reviewed decision support resource, which contains in-depth clinical content and analysis across a range of specialties. It also provides access to medical calculators and a drug interaction tool. UpToDate can be accessed online or via the app.

Multiple Devices

You can only have the UpToDate app stored on two devices at one time. Manage your devices by navigating to UpToDate’s ‘Account’ section of the app or the main website.

BMJ Best Practice

1. Download BMJ Best Practice from the App Store or Google Play Store. Links to these can be found by navigating to the CIAP website at www.ciap.health.nsw.gov.au, selecting ‘Mobile’ from the top menu.

2. Create a My Best Practice account by visiting the BMJ Best Practice website, clicking ‘My Best Practice’ and then select the ‘Register’ link.

3. Open the app, enter the email address associated with your My Best Practice account and select ‘Next’.

4. Enter your My Best Practice password and tap ‘Next’.

5. All the topics will now download to your device. Once complete, the app is ready to use.

The BMJ Best Practice app provides clinical information on diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of a comprehensive range of conditions. The app is a point of care tool designed to support clinicians in decision making.

Renewal

Your BMJ Best Practice app will need to be renewed every 12 months.

To renew your account, simply use your My Best Practice account details to login to the BMJ Best Practice website via CIAP, then login to the app again on your device. You will be sent a reminder email with these instructions in detail when renewal is required.

The Micromedex Drug Reference app provides access to a comprehensive database of evidence-based medicines information.

1. Download Micromedex Drug Reference from the App Store or Google Play Store. Links to these can be found by navigating to the CIAP website at www.ciap.health.nsw.gov.au and selecting ‘Mobile’ from the top menu.

2. Get the app password by visiting the Micromedex website, clicking ‘Download Mobile Apps’ and scrolling to the Micromedex Drug Reference app section of the screen. Note down the password displayed in bold.

3. Open the app on your device and when prompted, enter the password and select ‘Continue’.

4. The app is now ready to use.

Renewal

The Micromedex Drug Interactions app provides a comprehensive database of drug interactions and provides ratings on their severity. It provides insight into why the drugs interact, how the interaction presents in the patient and recommendations for monitoring patient outcomes.

The Micromedex IV Compatibility app informs of potentially dangerous IV combinations, provides drug-drug and drug-solution compatibility when creating an admixture or administering via Y-Site and identifies other factors such as storage, container and drug stability.

2. Get the user account details from the ‘PEMSoft User Account Details’ button located on CIAP’s ‘Mobile’ page.

Renewal

Your PEMSoft Mobile app does not need renewing after you use the login details to access all the content.

The Cochrane Library app for iPad provides access to high quality evidence-based systematic reviews of articles and clinical trials.

Cochrane Library for iPad

1. Download Cochrane Library for iPad from the App Store. A link to this can be found by navigating to the CIAP website at www.ciap.health.nsw.gov.au and selecting ‘Mobile’ from the top menu.

2. Once installed it can be accessed by tapping the News icon on your iPad’s home screen.

3. Select the issue you would like to read and tap the download button.

4. You are now able to read the articles.

OvidToday is a free, easy-to-use app from which you can access your Ovid subscribed journals as well as read, download and save them from anywhere. It provides on-the-go access to 6 months’ worth of rolling content as well as publish ahead of print from your institution’s Ovid journals. The app also enables you to read or save articles in pdf format which can be accessed offline at any time.

OvidToday for Tablet Devices

1. Download OvidToday from the App Store, Google Play Store or Amazon Store. Links to these can be found by navigating to the CIAP website at www.ciap.health.nsw.gov.au and selecting ‘Mobile’ from the top menu.

2. You must create an Ovid account in order to access the app. Login to one of the Ovid databases via CIAP and select ‘Mobile’ from the top menu and then ‘Generate Access Token’. You will now be sent an activation email to the email address associated with your Ovid account.

3. From the mobile device on which you have downloaded OvidToday, select the link in the activation email. This will automatically open the app and authenticate your account.

4. In order to maintain access, you must log into Ovid via CIAP at least once every 90 days.

Access Medicine

1. Download the Access Medicine from the App Store or Google Play Store. Links to the app can be found by navigating to the CIAP website at www.ciap.health.nsw.gov.au and selecting ‘Support & Contact’ from the top menu then ‘Mobile’.

2. Navigate to the Access Medicine website via CIAP and create a MyAcess profile by selecting ‘CIAP, NSW Health’ from top menu and then ‘Sign in or Create a Free MyAccess Profile’.

3. Use your new Access Medicine credentials to sign in to the app (1).

4. To maintain access to Access Medicine on your mobile device, you will need to log in to Access Medicine from a NSW Health computer at least once every 90 days.

The Access Medicine app from McGraw-Hill delivers support and point of care solutions for clinical practice. The app contains an evidence-based collection of concise condition outlines; a dermatologic diagnosis tool including colour images; differential diagnosis tool; and a pocket guide for interpreting commonly used diagnostic tests.
