    OUR CLIMATE CHANGE VISION

The City ofLiverpool accepts the urgent role

that it has to play in slowing and reversing the

growth of greenhouse gases to prevent the

most damaging aspects of climate change. It

also recognises the responsibility it has to

help people live with the inevitable changes

to our climate and its associated impactson our city.

Our vision is to be a leader for action that

radically cuts the Citys use of fossil fuels to

reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 80

% by 2050, the rate that climate scientists

    recommend will lessen future impacts.

We will transform our city to withstand the

predicted impacts of climate change to

protect and enhance the city for our people

    our environment, and our economy.
