My town: Borgaro

This is my school: Defassi Primary School.
In front of my school there’s a square, Repubblica square.
Near the school there are some blocks of flats and some shops.
In Borgaro there are two Primary Schools: Defassi and Grosa.
It is the Town Hall.

there’s Europa square.

There is a private Kindergarten.

The park is very wide: there are big trees, a lot of flowers and some benches.
It’s wonderfull!

very high.
The acqueduct is behind the
«New Farm».
Opposite the acqueduct
there are some blocks of
flats and a tennis court.
This is an Athletics Gym:
you can do Athletics.
Near the gym there’s a training
circuit: here you can run.

The basketball field is between a block of flats and a large street.
In Borgaro there are some bus stops: you
can catch the bus and go to Turin.

There’s the Emergency Doctor Centre with the ambulance, the library,
a music school and a theatre.

In Borgaro there are some playgrounds.
The children can play and have fun.
There are swings, see-saws, roundebouts and slides.

What is it?
This is the sport centre.
You can do martial art, play basketball and do gymnastic.
This is the swimming pool: you can swim.
The football field is near a roundebout.

In Borgaro there is a cycle route where you can ride a bike.
There is a training circuit where
you can do gymnastic and you

In Borgaro there are blocks of flats, semi detached houses and
detached houses.
There are lots of shops and supermarkets.
There are four banks and a post office.
There are some restaurants and hotels.

Obiettivi e metodologia
Il progetto CLIL è stato finanziato dal Comune di Borgaro e svolto durante le ore
curricolari da un’esperta e dall’insegnante di classe.
Questo lavoro si inserisce nella programmazione di geografia che prevede tra
gli obiettivi la conoscenza del territorio sia dal punto di vista urbanistico come
capacità di orientarsi sia dal punto di vista dei servizi che offre.
In un primo momento è stato fatto un brainstorming sul lessico necessario per
descrivere una città focalizzandosi sulle parole note e quelle da apprendere.
In seguito sono state effettuate uscite sul territorio in cui le insegnanti, con un
utilizzo costante della lingua inglese, hanno introdotto le nuove strutture e
permesso di consolidare il lessico e le funzionalità linguistiche necessarie per
chiedere e dare informazioni stradali, spiegare dove si trova un edificio e
descriverlo. Durante queste uscite sono state scattate le fotografie dei luoghi.
I bambini, di volta in volta, hanno allenato oralmente le funzioni linguistiche
facendo domande o rispondendo alle richieste delle insegnanti.
La fase conclusiva ha visto i bambini lavorare in gruppi cooperativi per
elaborare i testi riferiti a ogni fotografia.
