Introduction 1 1.1 Interesting facts about the SCF portal

Several Siemens divisions will in future provide suppliers with the required documents in a specially designed database, hereinafter referred to as the SCF (Supplier Collaboration Foundation). All suppliers download the necessary documents online from the SCF portal.

Note Use of the SCF portal

The SCF portal is a comprehensive application that maps the entire tendering process. Currently, Siemens uses the portal only to transmit documents to suppliers.

You should therefore only use the functions described below.

1.2 Support If you have content-related questions or problems (e.g. missing or incorrect data, data that cannot be interpreted, general questions, etc.), please contact the contact partner of the corresponding Siemens purchasing department.

Prepare SCF access 2 2.1 Requirements

Internet Browser For the use of the SCF portal, the Internet Explorer version 11 is supported. The use of other browsers is possible, but this can lead to errors that are not supported.

Browser settings If you downloaded the Internet Explorer from the Internet or if problems occur when opening the SCF portal, reset all settings to their default values. To do so, proceed as follows:

1. Choose Tools > Internet options from the menu.

2. Switch to the "Advanced" tab.

3. Choose "Reset".

Checking Java For the SCF portal, the Java version 1.8 is certified and recommended for access to the SCF portal.

If Java is not installed on your computer, install and activate the following Java versions for your browser:

Firewall settings To ensure that the data transfer between the supplier and the SCF portal functions without problems, the following prerequisites must be met:

● The entries "*siemens.com*" and "*siemens.net*" must be added to the whitelist of the firewall.

● Furthermore, at least the following ports must be enabled:

– 80 (HTTP)

– 443 (SSL)

● Additional protective mechanisms, e.g. "Web Protection" for Sophos UTM, may lead to interrupted connections. These protective mechanisms must be specifically configured or be switched off.

Note Firewall settings

The above-mentioned firewall settings can commonly only be set by your IT department.


Quick guide 3 3.1 Logging in to the SCF portal

Requirements ● You have installed Internet Explorer version 11.

● You have received your user name by e-mail.

● You have your password available, which was used in the last three months. If you have not used the password within the last three months, create a new password.

First-time SCF access / creating a password / refresh password To receive your password, the first time you log in, click on the "Forgotten your password/login?" link.

Enter your login into the "Login" field and click the "Request password" button.

You will receive your password by e-mail.

Procedure

Note Notifications of new data in the SCF portal

If new data is available to you in the SCF portal, you will be notified via email. Each notification includes a link that allows you to reach the SCF portal directly.



To log in to the SCF portal, proceed as follows:

1. Click the link in the received e-mail.

The website is opened in a new browser window.

2. Enter your user name and password in the login window and subsequently click the "Login" button.

The SCF portal start page opens, in which your data is available to download.

At the same time this security window opens:

Note

Do not close the "Teamcenter Security Agent" window during the session

If you close the "Teamcenter Security Agent" window during the session, you have to log back in after you closed all of your browser windows.

Quick guide 3.2 Downloading data


3.2 Downloading data Siemens makes documents available via the SCF portal. The SCF portal does not distribute the documents individually, but always together in "events" and released as a package. The sent emails therefore always refer to packets (events) with one or more documents.

Requirement You have been notified by e-mail that data is available for you in the SCF portal.

Procedure 1. Click the link to the SCF portal in your e-mail.

2. Log in to the SCF portal with your login and password.

The event is opened in the SCF portal.



3. Alternatively, proceed as follows:

– Copy the ID of the event from the received e-mail into your clipboard.

– In the SCF portal, click the search field in the upper right area.

– Paste the copied event ID into the search field.

– To start the search, press the <Enter> key or click the icon.

– To open an event, place your mouse cursor to the right of the event name and click the icon.

4. Switch to the Items tab.

All items, which are linked with the event, are shown to you.

5. Choose the desired item.



6. Switch to the Attachments subtab.

All item attachments are shown.



7. To select an attachment, click the into the row of the attachment. Always only select one row at a time. Rows with attachments are indicated by the icon.

When you have selected the attachment, the icon appears in the row of the attachment.

8. To open the selected data, click the icon in the icon bar.

Depending on the kind of attachment, the attachment is opened directly in a new brwoser tab or the dialog for the file download is opened.

9. To save an attachment, open the context menu of the "Save" button in the dialog for the file download and choose the Save As entry.



10.Choose a target path and save the attachment.

11.To deselect an attachment in the SCF portal, click in the row next to the icon. Afterwards you can select additional rows and download further attachments.

Result You have opened or downloaded the data.



Available icons If you opened an event in the SCF portal, the following icons are available to you:

With this icon, you open or download a selected attachment. The icon appears, if you have selected a single attachment.

With this icon, you hide the overview, item structure and attachments of an element.

With this icon, you display the overview, item structure and attachments of an element.

With this icon, you download multiple attachments at once via the Teamcenter Data Share Manager application.

With this icon, you export the article structure of an event.

With this icon, you switch into the fullscreen mode.

With this icon, you display the icon labels.

With this icon, you send an answer to the sponsor of the event.

4.2 Changing the language You have the capability to change the language of the SCF portal user interface.

Requirement You opened the SCF portal.

Procedure 1. Click the icon.

A context menu is opening.

2. Choose the Personal Settings menu entry.

4.3 Searching events You have the capability to search for events in the SCF portal.

Procedure 1. Click the search field in the upper right area.

2. Enter a search term, e. g. the ID of the event.

4.4 Filtering and sorting events

Procedure ● To sort the list, e.g. by name, click the column title of the respective attribute. If you click

the column title again, you change the sort order.

● To filter the list, click the icon on the left side and choose an attribute, for which you want to filter.

4.5 Logging off from the SCF portal To log off from the SCF portal, click your user name and choose the menu entry Sign Out.

Appendix A A.1 Questions and answers (Q&A)

A.1.1 Why does Internet Explorer not display anything? If you cannot log into the SCF portal using Internet Explorer and only an empty browser tab is displayed, the domain "siemens.com" is possibly not included in the whitelist in the firewall or Java is not installed. To add a domain to the whitelist, proceed as follows:

1. Choose Extras > Internet Options.

The Internet Options dialog opens.

2. Switch to the "Security" tab.

3. Select the "Trusted sites" icon as zone.

4. Click the "Sites" button.

5. In the "Add this website to the zone" field, enter the address "https://www.automation.siemens.com".

6. Choose "Add".

7. Click "Close".

9. Log into the SCF portal again.

Appendix A.1 Questions and answers (Q&A)


A.1.2 How can I deactivate the browser's security warning? If the following security warning pops up several times when navigating in the user interface of the SCF portal, change the Internet Explorer settings to deactivate the security warning.

Proceed as follows to deactivate the security warning:

1. Choose Tools > Internet Options.

The Internet Options dialog opens.

2. Switch to the "Security" tab.

3. Choose "Custom level...".

4. Activate the option "Enable" under "Display mixed content".

5. Click "OK" to accept your selection and close the dialog.

A.1.3 Installing the Siemens CA security certificate Before you can log on to the SCF portal, it might be necessary, that you need to download the Siemens CA security certificate from a Siemens server and install it on your PC. The description below will show you how to install the security certificate step by step.



Downloading and saving the security certificate Proceed as follows to download and save the security certificate:

1. Click on the following link:

Download security certificate (http://www.siemens.com/pki/siemens_ca_certificates.p7b)

2. Choose "Save" in the File Download dialog.

3. Choose a storage location on your PC and click the "Save" button.

The security certificate is saved on your PC.

Installing the security certificate Proceed as follows to install the security certificate:

1. Navigate in your file manager to the storage location of the security certificate.

2. Select the saved security certificate and press the right mouse button to open the context menu.

3. To install the security certificate, click on the menu entry Install Certificate.

A.1.4 How can I prevent the SCF portal from being blocked? After you logged into the SCF portal, the following message is shown to you if applicable:

If you receive this message, you have to install additional security certificates.

Procedure 1. Download the ZIP file with the security certificates

(https://www.automation.siemens.com/supplier-relationship-management/SiemensProductLifecycleManagementCertificates.zip).

2. Unpack the ZIP file with the security certificates locally.

3. Right-click a certificate file to open the context menu.

4. Choose the menu entry Install Certificate.

6. Choose the "Place all certificates in the following store" option.

10.In the Certificate Import Wizard dialog, click the "Finish" button.

The certificate is installed. A message about the successful import of the certificate opens.

11.Repeat the steps 3 to 10 for all certificates.

A.1.5 Downloading data via the Teamcenter Data Share Manager Via the Teamcenter Data Share Manager application you have the capability to download data from the SCF portal. You can download multiple files at the same time. Furthermore, you can stop and resume downloads.

Before you use the Teamcenter Data Share Manager application, install the application on your computer first.

Requirements ● You opened an event in the SCF portal.

● You have data available in the SCF portal.

● You have installed the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Runtime Library".

Installing Teamcenter Data Share Manager 1. Switch to the Items tab.

2. Choose the desired item.



3. Switch to the Attachments subtab.

When you have selected the attachment, the icon appears in the row of the attachment.

5. Click the icon in the icon bar.

The Data Share Manager License Agreement dialog opens.

In order to install the Teamcenter Data Share Manager application, you have to agree the License Agreement.



6. Click the "Install Data Share Manager" button.

The dialog for the download of the application is opening.

7. Click the "Run" button.

The file "DSMInstaller.exe" is downloaded and run afterwards.

The Teamcenter Data Share Manager application is installed.

After you have installed the application, you can choose the option "Already installed. Do not show this message again" in the Data Share Manager License Agreement dialog. Thereby the dialog won't open again, when you want to start a download.



Configuring the download path of Teamcenter Data Share Manager After you have installed the Teamcenter Data Share Manager application, you can configure the download folder for downloaded files.

1. In the application, click on the icon.

The settings are opened.

2. Click the "Browse" button.

The Select Default Download Folder dialog opens.



3. Select the desired folder and click the "Select Folder" button.

The path of the folder is accepted.



4. Click the "Apply" button.

The note, that the changes are accepted when you restart the application, opens.

5. Click the "OK" button.

6. To return to the main window, click the icon.

7. Restart the Teamcenter Data Share Manager application.



Downloading files from an event You have the capability to download all attachments of an event. To do so, proceed as follows:

1. Select the item attachments of an event, you want to download.

2. Click the icon in the symbol bar.

The dialog for the download of the download file opens.

3. Click the "Open" button.

The Teamcenter Data Share Manager application opens the download file and downloads all attachments of the selected event.

4. Click on the icon to open the main window.

5. To open a downloaded file, click the icon in the "Actions" column.

6. To open the destination of a downloaded file, click the icon in the "Actions" column.



7. If you experience download errors, empty your download list.

To do so, click the icon in the Teamcenter Data Share Manager application.

A confirmation message opens.

8. Click the "Yes" button.
