Teaching materials
Each week the teachers and the director of studies create original, adapted and updated teaching material for the
needs for the groups, by using the most recent literature of French as a foreign language teaching, in addition to a
diverse and current selection of written and oral documents. Teaching material is included in the cost.
Tutorat opportunities at Lyon Bleu
In addition to their standard course, students are encouraged to register for free tutoring sessions: more grammar,
oral and written practice workshops for all levels. Taught by intern teachers in Master 1 or 2 in FLE (French as a
Foreign Language), these free additional sessions are open to all our students and are a real added value.
(Tutorate sessions are subject to availabilities and are not guaranteed for each student)
Tests, levels and evaluation
In Lyon Bleu, 6 levels are open all year long from "Absolute Beginner" to "Advanced" levels. We based the levels of
Lyon Bleu on the Common European Framework of reference for foreign language teaching: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2.
Syllabus: Each level is organized around a teaching program which has been carefully planned out over a number of
weeks. This ensures that the linguistic objectives - grammatical, lexical and communicative - are reached and gives
each student a clear vision of their progression.
Evaluation: Lyon Bleu offers a system of evaluation which allows us to place the student in the most suitable group
according to his/her needs, to evaluate progression and to move to the next level as soon as he/she is ready:
An on-line written test before arriving: http://www.lyon-bleu.fr/1-25-Test-ecrit-de-niveau.php or PDF Version: http://www.lyon-bleu.fr/files/test-de-placement.pdf
An oral test on the 1st day A weekly evaluation and testing by the teachers
Certificates
A certificate of attendance showing the level which has been reached at the end of the course is provided to the
student at the end of his/her session or can be sent by regular mail to the student (reference to the Common
European Framework of reference for foreign language teaching). This certificate is included in the cost.
DELF and DALF exams
DELF A1 A2 B1 B2 Units and DALF C1 and C2 Units can be prepared thanks to a specific course which combines semi-
intensive and one-to-one classes.
Lyon Bleu International isn’t an exam center but help students in their preparation.

Lyon Bleu must be informed as soon as the visa request has been accepted by the French authorities
Having obtained the visa and at the latest 30 days before the beginning of the courses, Lyon Bleu asks that you confirm the registration, and the starting date of your classes, by paying or asking the student to pay the outstanding balance for course and accommodation.
If we don’t hear from the student or agent beforehand, Lyon Bleu will send an e-mail to remind you at the latest 30 days before the beginning of the classes. If you wish to maintain the original dates, and you are certain that visa will be issued on time, Lyon Bleu asks you to pay the outstanding balance for course and accommodation at the latest 30 days before starting date of the program.
If you wish to change the start date of the student’s courses because the visa will be issued too late to arrive at the originally planned date, the start date can be postponed one time only free of charge. It requires an updated “certificate de pré-incription” and Lyon Bleu can then supply you with a document featuring the new date.
Any subsequent request of postponement/change will be charged 55€ and Lyon Bleu will not be able to guarantee the same accommodation if the new date is more than 3 weeks after the original starting date.
3) What happens in the case of visa refusal?
If the visa is refused and the student must cancel the program,
more than 18 days before starting date of the program: Lyon Bleu International will refund any money paid less the non-refundable registration fee and accommodation booking fee + 100€ penalty.
17 days and fewer before the starting date of the program: Lyon Bleu International will refund any money paid less the non-refundable registration fee and accommodation booking fee + 10% of the course fee as a penalty and not more than 450€
