MATH MYSTERY:

CASE of the EGG THIEF

Date:______________

It is a sad and disappointing Easter day here in Mathhattan. Many children are waking

up to empty Easter baskets and finding many Easter egg wrappings scattered all over

their garden. Hear what some of the victims had to say earlier this morning:

Tom stated, “I was really looking forward to eating my chocolate Easter eggs, I’ve gone

without chocolate for so long!”

Jess cried, “I was extremely sad and angry to find so many Easter egg wrappings all

over our garden. It wasn’t a very fun Easter hunt to just find leftover rubbish and now we

have a big mess to clean up.”

Liam said, “I hope the Easter bunny can help with this problem. Maybe he knows what

happened?”

The Easter bunny was brought in to Mathhattan’s Police Headquarters for an interview

on the matter. Read how the interview went below:

Officer Harold asked the Easter Bunny, “Are you aware that lots of children woke up this

morning to empty baskets and Easter egg rubbish around their homes?”

The Easter bunny replied, “I only just found out about the problem moments ago. I

certainly did deliver Easter eggs to all of those children during the night, so their baskets

should have been full. Someone must be stealing the eggs, but I have no idea who it

could be!”

Officer Harold grunted, “So it seems we have an Egg Thief roaming about our streets.

Whoever it is, must be stopped and arrested immediately!”

The Easter bunny suggested, “I’ll put together a list of who the Egg Thief could be, but I’ll

need a super math detective to help solve this mystery.”

With thousands of Easter eggs stolen from children all over town, the Easter bunny and

the police desperately need a great math detective help them solve this case of the Egg Thief!
