Clearwater County Land & Forestry Intermediate Oral Bid Auction Sale of Timber November 2, 2017 Oral Bid Auction 9:00 A.M. Notice is hereby given that under the provisions of Chapter 355, Laws of 1941, as amended, the following timber on tax forfeited lands will be offered for sale without the sale of land on, Thursday, November 2, 2017, at 9:00 A.M. in the third floor meeting room, of the Courthouse in Bagley, Minnesota. Timber will be sold to the highest bidder at not less than the appraised value. Bid increases will be in multiples of 1% and will apply to all timber listed on the sale, unless otherwise stated. Timber will be sold in conformity with all terms and conditions set forth by the County Board. The Land Commissioner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. TERMS AND CONDITIONS I. Purchase Eligibility: A. Intermediate Auction - limited to operations* with twenty (20) employees or less. B. Bidders must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. C. No bid shall be accepted from any operation having a delinquent or uncollectible timber sale account with a County or the State, or from any operation involved in a pending timber trespass case with a County or State. D. No bidder shall act in any capacity on behalf of a non-qualifying operation for the purpose of procuring rights to purchase timber from Clearwater County. No operation will be awarded more than one (1) of the tracts offered on the first round of bidding. E. Violation of eligibility limits will result in loss of advance payment and/or triple stumpage price of permit and/or loss of privilege to purchase stumpage from Clearwater County. F. All bidders must be registered by registration deadline listed below to determine purchase eligibility. Registration on day of auction will not be accepted. * Operation: An individual, partnership, company, corporation, family operation or informal group that logs together. II. Inspection: It shall be the responsibility of the bidder to arrange access to permits, examine sale sites and know cutting regulations on each site. Submission of bid reflects that logger has inspected the sale. III. Timber Permit: A. A permit to cut and remove the timber from the lands will be issued to the operation in whose name the bid is made. B. Minimum down payment shall be 15% of the appraised price on the day of the sale. Payment in full is required before logging begins. C. Duration of sales will be two years on all sales unless otherwise stated. D. One extension may be allowed for a period of one year upon payment of 10% of the uncut balance. The minimum extension fee shall be $50.00. Notice is hereby given that under the provisions of Chapter 355, Laws of 1941, as amended, the following timber on tax forfeited lands will be offered for sale without the sale of land on, Thursday, November 2, 2017, at 9:00 A.M. in the third floor meeting room, of the Courthouse in Bagley, Minnesota. Timber will be sold to the highest bidder at not less than the appraised value. Bid increases will be in multiples of 1% and will apply to all timber listed on the sale, unless otherwise stated. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

the harvest area. Operations will occur when the

The sale is a hardwood thinning with around 70

BA of residual retained in the harvest area.

Harvest all Aspen and Birch, as well as all trees

marked with Orange paint. Lop and scatter all

slash back into the harvest area. Reserve and

protect all unmarked residual trees. Skid trails

and three landings will need to be created in

order to harvest the site. Skidding on the

Strawberry Mt Rd will need approval from the

DNR. Operations will occur when the site is firm

or frozen. Woods Rd running through sale will

need some gravel to address a few mud holes in

order to use it for operations. A small portion of

road will need to be constructed and numerous

mud holes filled in order to use the Abelguard as

a loop rd.

this stand was affected by the July 2016 wind

event. Harvest all Aspen and Birch as well as all

other Hardwood stems greater than 12" DBH

and all wind damaged Hardwood regardless of

diameter. Reserve and protect all non damaged

Hardwood stems other than Aspen and Birch

less than 12" DBH. Lop and scatter all slash

back into the harvest area. Operations will occur

when the site is firm or frozen. Access: Sale is

located 3.25 miles west of State Hwy 92 on

Mosquito Creek Rd and 0.5 miles south on a

forest access Rd. The access Rd will need

improvements prior to operations starting.
