What worked for CMS
• Contact applicant asap– You may have to use your own phones!– Some applicants’ phones block the University
phone number.• If you don’t get through, email, but do then
monitor your email!• Clearing continues until after term starts– Make sure you continue checking and accepting
clearing applications for as long as you canOne of London’s Leading Universities

Chase applicants
• You can check the applicant’s status on UCAS weblink– Make sure you check this carefully – check the course
code as they may have applied for more than one at the same university – we are G70
– Waiting / in clearing – they have not yet referred themselves to us – they may be shopping around or confused about what to do.
– Referred to us means they want to come to us• Check that they have really applied.
– Placed means they are coming (unless they get a better offer).

Week 1
• Tell the New Arrivals tutor who has come through clearing
• Check that those wanting to come to us are UFAA before term starts so they can register
• Make sure they get School info about the first week
• Manually add them to week 1 registers if necessary – make them feel at home
