– Vehicle Incentives (primarily for NG and LPG)• Federal tax credits range from $ 2,500 to $ 32,000 depending on GVWR

– $ 2,500-$ 4,000 for vehicles up to 8,500 lbs. (incremental cost cap : $ 5K)– $ 5,000-$ 8,000 for vehicles between 8,501-14,000 lbs. (icc: $10K)– $ 12,500-$ 20,000 for vehicles between 14,001-26,000 lbs. (icc: $ 25K)– $ 20,000-$ 32,000 for vehicles over 26,000 lbs. (icc: $ 40K)

• QAFMV may be either new, original equipment installation vehicles or prior use vehicles which have been repowered to use an alternative fuel by an aftermarket installer.

• Credit is effective for vehicles placed in service after 12-31-05 and currently set to expire on 12-31-10. Extensions of this credit are in the NAT GAS Act and other bills and/or amendments currently making their way through Congress…. Most include major increases in ICC and 80% for dedicated and 50% for bi-fuel.

• Hybrid light-duty– The vehicle must be placed in service after 12-31-05 and purchased on

or before 12-31-10.– http://www.irs.gov/businesses/corporations/article/0,,id=203122,00.html– Maximum credit to date $3,150 for the Prius– Credit phases out once manufacturer hits 60,000 hybrid vehicle sales

• PHEV– New PHEVs placed in service after 12/31/09 can receive $2,500 to

$7,500 depending on battery storage capacity– PHEV conversions can also receive tax credits for 10% of conversion

not to exceed $4,000 through 12/31/11

• Other BEVs: Low speed, motorcycles and three-wheelers– 10% of the vehicle cost up to $2,500 through12/31/11

• A tax credit is available for the cost of installing alternative fueling equipment placed into service after December 31, 2005.

• 30% of the cost, not to exceed $30,000, for equipment placed into service before January 1, 2009

• For equipment put into service after 1/1/09, 50% up to $50,000

• Applies to public and private fueling sites and all alternative fuels

• Expired fuel incentives 12/31/09– SAFTEA-LU dispenser rebate of $0.50 per gallon equivalent for NG,

LPG, H2 – Biodiesel production capacity credit of $1.00 per gallon also

• NGVAmerica, PERC and NBB all working to extend and make retroactive
