Our CLE Model

• Education and Promotion Coordinator 2 days per week

• Coordinates CLE requests, develops CLE program, delivers CLE, organises events, publications and resources, website, promotion, community development, trains and supports other workers

• CLE delivered by whole team• Co-facilitation where possible

‘Caring for Ourselves’ nurture day• Partnered with Blue Mountains Women’s Health Centre,

Blue Mountains City Council, Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre

• Targeted to women caring for children, adult children, partners or aging parents with disability, mental health issues and other care needs

• Promotion in local paper, interagencies, school newsletters and posters at shops, doctors surgeries etc

• Held at an eco retreat in Blackheath • Included two CLE workshops on wills, trusts, powers of

attorney, enduring guardianship, advance care directives, domestic violence, discrimination and legal referrals 8

Our tips for RRR CLE• Consult (make a few phone calls to key

people)• Make sure there’s a need• Find a local champion• Don’t go it alone. Partner with other services

and share the workload• Brokerage• Promote using different mediums • Creative flyers

Tips con’t• Get RSVPs and follow up confirmations• Invite guest presenters to your area• More activities & narrative, less lecturing• Include enjoyable, non legal things • Create opportunities for socialising and

networking• Provide the best food you can afford• Freebies• Remember, the law can be really boring!
