PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
CLAYTON SOUTH PRIMARY SCHOOL Principal: Mr Greg Clement 539 Clayton Rd Clayton South VIC 3169 Phone 9558 0599 Email [email protected] Website www.claytonsouthps.vic.gov.au
Dear Clayton South Primary School families,
I have had the best week ever since starting at Clayton South Primary School. This week, I have been lucky enough to teach 5/6B in Mr. Hay’s absence. The students in this class (as with all of our grades) are absolutely beautiful and have made me feel very welcome in their classroom. Last week I taught the Prep students for a day, and had a great time working with our youngest students, also. Our 5/6 students have been teaching me a thing or two about fractions, and some of them even wrote 3 pages in their narrative story writing session. What a fantastic group of students we have here!
Next Tuesday, Miss Kathie and I will be accompanying our Year 6 student leaders to the city to the GRIP Leadership conference. Please don’t forget to drop your child to Clayton Railway Station by 7:45am for an 8am train. We will arrive back at Clayton Railway Station at approximately 3:05pm. Please don’t be late. The students will have a great time!
On Monday morning, a representative from ABCRead2Me will be dropping off several boxes of books. These will be given out to the students in the final week of Term 1 as a gift for their hard work over the previous 9 weeks and to encourage a love of reading. The company have indicated they will do this each term for our students, so we thank them for their lovely donation.
Next Thursday, some students will be coming home with an ILP (Individual Learning Plan). These will be for any students on the Program for Students with a Disability, students with an ASD diagnosis, and students who are working 12 months ahead or behind the curriculum. The teachers have been busy creating achievable goals for the students to work towards, based on the assessments they have completed thus far.
All of our students have made such a brilliant start to the year, and I am really proud of each and every one of them. And you should be too.
Have a great week!
Greg Clement
