Step 1- Visit CLAT website - www.clat.ac.in

Step 2 - Create personal login account - giving Mobile Number.

•Receive verification Code - OTP and enter into online portal , Continue with form filling.

Step 3 - Password is auto-generated by website and sent to your email id.

Use this to login into your account

Step 4 - Proceed with filling application form

Step 5 - Upoad scanned attested photocopies

Step 6 - Payment

•Online / Offline - both options given

Dear Student,

To understand the CLAT application process for UnderGraduate (LLB) here is a detailed

step by step approach.

Information regarding details of intake, reservation and the courses offered along with

the fee structure is available in the CLAT-2014 Information Brochure. You are advised to

carefully go through it before filling the application form for UG course.

CLAT Common law admission test for Under-Graduate is scheduled on 11th MAY 2014

Some Highlights of the CLAT Exam

Number of multiple-choice questions of one mark each 200

Subject areas with Weightage

English including Comprehension 40 Marks

Static General Knowledge and Current Affairs 50 Marks

Elementary Mathematics 20 Marks

Legal Aptitude including legal reasoning and legal GK 50 Marks

Logical Reasoning 40 Marks

Duration of Examination is 2 hours (3pm to 5pm)

Each correct answer will be given 1 mark

Negative (0.25) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer

The OMR sheet must be darkened with BLACK BALL POINT PEN only (you cannot change

your answer once you have shaded the OMR sheet)

The student cannot take the CLAT question paper home after the exam

1. The CLAT application form is completely ONLINE including payment.

Student has to create a personal login account on the clat website www.clat.ac.in

STEP 1- On the home page, click on Online Application (Undergraduate Programme)

STEP 2 - Click on APPLY FOR CLAT 2014 and go through the details given.

STEP 3 - Click on I AGREE to start creating the personal login account.

2. As the publication of result and allotment of seats will be made on merit-cum-preference

basis according to the information furnished in the Online Application Form and during the

Counselling Session, the candidates are required to read the instructions carefully and furnish

correct and authentic information.

The following CATEGORY options are available under each STATE DOMICILE

Candidates seeking admission under reserved categories such as

SC/ST/OBC/PWD/DFF/NRI and the General category candidates seeking admission under

STATE DOMICILE category - will be required to obtain in advance the relevant and

authentic certificates/documents from the competent authorities and produce the same

at the time of admission.

3. An email is sent with Login information for Common Law Admission Test(CLAT-2014)

It is generated based on the email id provided under basic details. The email will contain Login

Details i.e. Username and Password.

To continue with your email verification and profile completion, go to www.clat.ac.in and on the

home page, click on Online Application (Undergraduate Programme).

You will find a section called “ Log in to your account ” here you can enter Username and

Password from the verification email.

4. APPLICATION NUMBER

Once you click LOGIN you will see Basic Details are already filled up and you will have an

APPLICATION NUMBER unique to each student. Please note, except for email and mobile

number all other details can be modified at this stage (in case of an error). If all the details are

correct click on SAVE to go to the next stage.

EXAM CENTRE PREFERENCE

You will have to give 3 choices from the following exam centers. Please note in the event of

insufficient number of candidates opting to appear from a particular Test Centre, Convenors

CLAT-2014, reserves the right to cancel such a centre and shift the applicants to another

nearby centre or to a centre according to the candidate’s second or third preference. The centre

of the Entrance Test and the preferences given by the candidates in the Online Application

Form shall be final and will not be changed thereafter.

5. UPLOAD DOCUMENTS

The relevant SCANNED ATTESTED PHOTOCOPIES of the certificates/documents in support

of one's claim for admission need to be uploaded while filling the Online Application Form.

The photocopies of documents need to be attested by a Gazetted Officer not related to the

candidate.

For all students including GENERAL Category please Upload SCANNED ATTESTED

PHOTOCOPIES as attachments having size less than or equal to 100 kb:

* Candidate’s Signature (.gif, .jpeg, .jpg)

For students who are eligible for RESERVATION, the SCANNED ATTESTED

PHOTOCOPIES to be uploaded in the PDF format, file size than or equal to 100 kb:

* Disability Certificate (Persons With Disability, P.W.D.)

* Special Category certificate like E.B.C.; B.C.; W.B.C.; D.F.F.; S.E.B.C.

* Ancestral residents of village Sidhuwal, District Patiala

* Son/Daughter of Defense Personnel Deployed in U.P. or Defense Personnel of U.P. either

retired or killed/ disabled in action

* Dependant of Freedom Fighter of U.P.

* Certificates in support of One's Claim for NRI/NRI Sponsored Candidate

* Domicile Certificate in support of one's claim for consideration under State Quota.

Please Note: Domicile certificate is issued by Government Offices in 7 days or same day, with

or without fees, depending on the state. The prescribed application forms are either available

online or from the local authorities, i.e. the Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Tehsildar's office/Revenue

Department/District Collector's Office, or any other authority as specified in the State/UT of your

residence. You will be required to produce proof of continuous residence in the State/UT for a

specified minimum period, or that of holding land in the State/UT, depending on the rules in the

State/UT concerned. Domicile Certificate can be made only in one State/UT. In case you

have applied for the domicile certificate and its not issued in time, then you can upload

the attested photocopy of the payment receipt received, from the Government Office for

CLAT 2014.

After uploading the relevant documents click on SAVE to go to the next stage.

6. PAYMENT

In the Payment section you will have two choices * Online * Offline In online mode you may pay using a credit/debit card or internet banking facility. In offline mode you will be able to download an SBI Challan which will contain all your details including application number, name and fees to be remitted. Registration fees is Rs. 4000/- for General/OBC/PWD and other category candidates Rs. 3500/- for SC/ST category candidates. Please note: In online mode, please confirm with your bank/credit card company that transaction has been successfully completed. In offline mode, any bank transaction costs for remitting the registration fees must be paid by the candidate.

7. RESULTS

CLAT-2014 result will be published on 31st May 2014 on www.clat.ac.in with an overall merit

list of candidates prepared according to their CLAT Score and Rank along with their categories.

In addition, state specific and all India merit lists will be prepared for various categories of

candidates like General/SC/ST/OBC/Women/PWD/NRI etc. Student will be able to access the

CLAT 2014 results through their personal login account.

In the event of equal marks scored by two or more candidates in the CLAT-2014, the tie- break

is done using the following procedure and order:

(i) Higher marks in the section of legal aptitude in CLAT-2014

(ii) Higher age

(iii) Computerized draw of lots

ADMISSION

A centralized admission process CLAT-2014 on the basis of merit-cum-preference. The information relating to various dates of the admission will be available on CLAT-2014 website (www.clat.ac.in) You will have to furnish all documents in original during admission. The first 2500 candidates (comprising candidates from various categories such as General/SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc.) will be permitted to take part in the counselling session only after depositing Rs. 1,00,000/- Provisional Allotment List/Waiting List will be prepared only on the basis of the counselling session undertaken by the candidates and the details filled-in by the candidates in the Online Application Form.
