What Will We Reading This Semester?
In addition, Honors will be reading…
Other Important Components in ENG IIStudents are required to take three Benchmark Exams in preparation for the ENG II EOC.
1st Benchmark = Classwork Grade2nd Benchmark = Quiz Grade3rd Benchmark = Test Grade
Benchmarks indicate what areas you need to work on in order to pass the EOC.
The English II EOC ExamState exam administered to students at the end of tenth grade.
• Reading comprehension questions that are designed to measure multiple components of student learning.
• Not curved• High failure rate
Many students make the mistake, based on past tests, of relying on the test to pass this class.
That will not work in high school English. My former students can attest to this.
Other Class Misconceptions…No, my quizzes and tests are NOT multiple choice. No, you cannot elect to NOT take a test or quiz because you are not ready.Yes, you are expected to bring materials to class everyday – even Fridays! No, I will not give you answers on tests and quizzes Yes, you must make-up work when your absentNo, you cannot take quizzes or tests home to make-upYes, copying another students work is cheating – not helpingNo, I do not have any candy or foodNo, I am not an office supply store
