1. Standard that is being addressed: Community Service, skill competence, social
2. Name of activity/topic: Afternoon Tea
Description: This is a project that includes students across the grades and technical areas. We go to the Long Term Care facility where our senior nursing assistant students do their clinicals. The residents are invited to an afternoon tea. Our culinary students have made the treats, Floral creates corsages, cosmetology gives manicures, graphics can make the invitations or activity sheets. We have talented students sing. There is a teddy bear collection prior to the event. Each resident gets a card (made by students) and a stuffed animal. To further involve students (here is the social part) WE have a cupcake decorating session-each student gets a cupcake to decorate and enjoy. Cost of admission to this social-a stuffed animal.
