This position is responsible for repairing, installing, adjusting, maintain-ing andmachining parts for industrial productionmachinery.This is a versatile role re-quiring not only mechanical and electrical knowledge, but experience in PLCs andelectronics as well as manual machining equipment.
Job Requirements• Minimum five years experience as a well-rounded technician capable of troubleshooting and repairingbothmechanical and electrical industrial equipment, including welding and fabricating parts.
• Must have at least three years experience with complex troubleshooting of production equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and measuring tools.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems required.
• Must use appropriate safety gear to perform specific functions of the job.
Primary Accountabilities
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly,building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
• Inspect drives,motors and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters or perform other maintenanceactions, following checklists.
• Utilize tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills andwrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing,machinery and equipment.
• Apply knowledge of industrial electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipmentmalfunctions and use skills to restore equipment operation.
• Perform PLC, control circuit and variable speed AC drive troubleshooting.
• Assemble, test and install electrical control panels based on schematic diagrams.
• Interface electrical controls systems with pneumatic and mechanical systems.
•Work closely with remote Engineering Department when assistance is needed to resolve anyelectrical problem.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repairmanuals and schematic diagrams.
• Plan and layout repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints,maintenance manuals andschematic diagrams.
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Align and balance new equipment after installation.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers,micrometers and other measuring tools.
• Set-up and operate machine tools including manual mill and lathe equipment to repair and fabricatemachine parts, jigs and fixtures and tools.
• Paint and repair roofs,windows, doors, floors,woodwork, plaster, drywall and other parts of buildingstructures.
