Binomial Nomenclature

• Linnaeus’ 2 name naming system

• 1st name = genus • 2nd name = species• Only 1st word is

capitalized and both words are underlined seperately

• Ex. Homo sapien

• The more taxon 2 organisms have in common, the more similar they are

• They have similar traits and body shapes
