NEWSLETTER INFORMATION

The Classic GTO Association of Denver (CGTOAD) newsletter is published monthly in Denver, CO. It is aninformative news bulletin to keep our membership up-to-date on past, current and future events in which we areinvolved, as well as to publish information about the GTO. Articles from club members and other sources arewelcome. Please send them to John and Linda Lawrence, 3308 S. Dayton Ct., Denver, CO 80231-4713. Allmaterial submitted prior to the 15th of the month will be considered for the next issue. Please contact John or Lindawith questions, 303-337-7502. GTO HOTLINE

The CGTOAD operates a recorded telephone hotline to inform members and other interested parties aboutupcoming club events and other activities. Call the hotline at any time: 720-443-1GTO (1486). You may leave amessage if you wish.

MEETING TIME AND PLACE

The CGTOAD holds a general membership meeting each month except for December. CALL THE GTOHOTLINE FOR THE MEETING TIME AND PLACE.

MEMBERSHIP DUES

The CGTOAD membership dues are $30.00 per year. This includes one primary and one associate membership.Annual dues are payable in June for the period of July through the following June. New member fees will beprorated if a member joins in a month other than June. To obtain a membership application, visit the club’s web siteor call the CGTOAD Hotline (303-907-4730) and leave a message.

Linda LawrenceNotes from the August 14 Membership Meeting - Annual Picnic

We began today’s meeting with two trivia questions from Norm Warling.In the song “Hey Jude” how many times did the Beatles sing “Hey Jude”. The answer is 23. No one answered

the question.In Eric Clapton’s song, “Cocaine”, how many times does he use the word Cocaine? The answer is 10. He

stumped us all again.

Sharlene began the official meeting with a reminder that the dues are now due. Please send your checks for $30 assoon as possible to the PO Box. There were 47 members and family present at our picnic.

The drawing for the winner of an $80 cash prize for attending the meeting was member Al Skatch, who was notpresent. The September pot will be $100.

The winner of the event attendance drawing was Ron Muck, who was also not in attendance. Next month’s pot willbe $60.

Art Marshall gave us an overview of the upcoming annual dinner. This year we will celebrate our 36th anniversary asan official club. The dinner will be at Poppies Restaurant on South Colorado Blvd. The date is October 16, 2016and happy hour will begin at 4:30. The invitations will be out soon with the five menu choices we will have. Theper person cost is $29 including tax and gratuity. There will be a cash bar. It will also be a membership meeting andwe will nominate officers for the next year. There will be some great surprises in store.

Upcoming events are:

September 3 an Open House given by Hagarty Insurance Co and is also the monthly Golden Cruise. We can meetagain at Mac Vick Plumbing.

Our board meeting will be September 7 at the Village Inn off of C470 and Ken Caryl.

September 24 we are invited to celebrate the 45th wedding anniversary of Bill and Marita Lewis at their home. Thecelebration will be hosted by Chris Lewis. Details will follow.

September 25 is the annual Cool Colors of Autumn show put on by the Highlands Ranch Hot Rodders.

November 5 will be the annual White Elephant Party at Thelma and Jack George’s home.

The November meeting will be at Gary Riley’s shop where we will vote on the new slate of officers for 2017.

Our current status at the Bandimere Club Clash Racing is 14th in 5-man and 9th in overall club points. George Raczis 9th in individual standings.
