Why do we go toward the One if we already are in the One? What is “Perfection” about? Is the Only Being only united with the illuminated souls or with us all? And what about the use of the word “Master”? These questions and many more are explained by taking the Invocation step by step, line by line and getting deeper into the mysticism of Inayat Khan. Approached this way, the Invocation proves to be both a good introduction to the Message and a deepening for those further on the path. Khalif Wali und Sheikha Arienne van der Zwan (Germany): The Invocation by Hazrat Inayat Khan

We all know and love the Invocation of Hazrat Inayat Khan, but it is also a source of many questions and stumbling blocks. Why

do we go toward the One if we already are in the One? What is “Perfection” about? Is the Only Being only united with the illuminated souls or with us all? And what about the use of the word “Master”? These questions and many more are explained by taking the Invocation step by step, line by line and getting deeper into the mysticism of Inayat Khan. Approached this way, the Invocation proves to be both a good introduction to the Message and a deepening for those further on the path. With Dance, zikr, chant, walking meditation and other practices.

Sheikha Alima Stoeckel (Germany): Touching the Invisible Worlds (Source: writings of Murshid)

We can experience higher and extended ways of being in the Sufi practice of tassawuri (attunement to the outer and inner teacher). But what about channeling, angels and all

those phenomena that are more and more accessible and natural in the evolution of human spirit? We will explore and develop these spiritual abil-ities in a balanced and dedicated way. With Dances, Walks of the planets, masters, saints and prophets, attunement, meditation, silence, sharing.

Khalif Hauke Jelaluddin Sturm (Germany): Embodied Wisdom – The walks as the Movement of Life (Sources: papers of Hazrat Inayat Khan and Murshid Samuel L. Lewis)

The way we move influences our attitude to life. In his teachings on psychology, Hazrat Inayat Khan encourages us

to discover the significance of movements, and to use this influence more actively. Murshid Samuel Lewis raises walking, and walking meditation, to an elemental art of life. Through movement we discover how we can embody healing principles: walking our own way of life – in balance, in the right rhythm, with power and consciousness.

Sufism as the “spiritual architecture” of the present and future offers us practical methods to heal ourselves individu-

ally and collectively, as well as to create a peaceful way of living on our home planet earth. The class will offer the opportunity for questions and answers, and share keys and practical tools of the Sufi path. Big Mind, Healthy Heart: Healing Life on the Sufi Way

Introduction to the Sufi path and lineage of Hazrat Pir-o- Murshid Inayat Khan, Hazrat Pir Samuel L. Lewis and Hazrat Pir Murshid Moineddin Jablonski.

A variety of classes: some especially for those exploring taking up Sufi practice, as well as for those already on the Sufi path—beginners, middle and more advanced (including Sufi guides);

Guided retreat processes using Dances of universal Peace, Sufi zikr and wazifa (mantric practice), walking meditation, body awareness and contemplation, Sufi Soulwork, Sufi healing practice, silence and Sufi stories;

A wonderful way to experience and share practice with the main Ruhaniat Sufi guides in Europe;

A beautiful venue in nature, comfortable accommodations, and healthy food catering to a variety of diets–experience our “Sufi café” atmosphere on the terrace of Proitzer Muehle;

Joyous community with seekers from a dozen countries and languages–“eating, dancing and praying together.”

Health and healing affects our lives in so many ways—not only physical healing but also the challenge of finding greater balance in heart, mind and soul. On the Sufi path, we have many resources for taking a “big mind” view of our human journey, and many tools for creating the “healthy heart” we need to live life joyfully and with purpose.

During this year’s summer school, we will draw from the rich lineage of our teachers, including classes on music and

healing, balance and healing in everyday life, healing Walks, stories as healing, Soulwork, the “invisible worlds,” extended zikr (remembrance practice) and meditation.

Hazrat Pir Moineddin Jablonski (1942-2001) dedicated his life to healing in all of its forms, and this year we celebrate the tenth anniversary of his passing. Our teachers will in-clude the main Ruhaniat Sufi guides and initiators in Europe: Murshida Sophia, Khalif Tansen, Khalifa Baraka, Khalif Jelaluddin, Sheikha Rahmana, Sheikha Alima and Khalif Wali and Sheikha Arienne and Murshid Saadi (director).

Our summer school is dedicated to the service of peace and for the benefit of all living beings. Murshid Samuel L. Lewis (1896–1971) was a mystic schooled in both Zen and Sufism, recognized as a teacher in both traditions, who felt that spirituality should be a matter of living experience, not division and conflict. His spiritual successor, Moineddin Jablonski (1942–2001) believed that spirituality was not fully realized until fully embodied, with all elements of the person-ality – light and dark – included in a life of joy and compas-sion. Both lived and taught in the tradition of Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882–1927), who brought a tradition of universal Sufism to the west. On this path we recognize equally all the different spiritual traditions of the world and honor them as an expression of the Holy.

If you wish to explore the Sufi path, the Summer School is a good place to start. The variety of classes as well as the relaxed, informal atmosphere and sharing with people from many different lands is invigorating. If you are steadily traveling the path and encountering challenges (as we all do), you can find here both guidance and a company of fellow travelers with open hearts and arms ready to embrace you.

We hope you can join us!Murshid Saadi Shakur Chishti, Director
