THE 2014-2015 BLOCK OF THE MONTH PROGRAM WINDS DOWN SOON. WE WILL START THE 2015-2016 PROGRAM THIS FALL. STAY TUNED...THE NEW BLOCK OF THE MONTH PROGRAM IS GOING TO BE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WE’VE SPONSORED! BEGINNING QUILTING (Dates to be announced.) As soon as we have FOUR people signed up, we will contact each student and set the dates. Be- ginning quilt- ing will be held on four FRIDAYS, from 12:30 to 4:30. Participants will learn all of the basic techniques like rotary cutting, how to get that perfect 1/4” seam, proper pressing, all while making historic blocks like, friendship star, log cabin and flying geese. By the end of the fourth week, students will have completed a wonderful sampler quilt! Cost is $40, taught by Sue Coppin; requisite book is “Let’s Start Quilting” by Alex Anderson (available at 20% discount with paid fees). BEGINNING QUILTING: Dates TBA, Cost: $40; Teacher: Sue POINSETTIA FUN: June 20. You’ll LOVE learning to use the Quick Curve Ruler that’s required for this class. We’ve sponsored several class projects using this ruler from Sew Kind of Won- derful. Every class has been a great suc- cess! Get a jump on the Christmas sea- son with POINSETTIA FUN. Make it in the modern colors shown or in the more traditional colors. Whatever you choose, you’ll have a beautiful table runner! POINSETTIA FUN: June 20, 10 to 4:30. Teacher: Karen Prout; Cost: $25. KIDS CAN QUILT CLASS! June 23, 24, 25, 26, 10:30 to 12:30 each day. In this class kids 8 years and old will make a darling “Rail Fence” quilt. Each student will learn to coordinate fabrics, ro- tary cutting, sew a 1/4” seam, pressing, and squaring of blocks. Pattern included in class pro- vides 3 sizes of quilts (we rec- ommend the Lap size to start), Lap, Twin, and Double. KIDS CAN QUILT CLASS: June 23-24-25-26; 10:30 to 12:30 each day. OUT OF FOCUS, August 22. You’ll have a

blast in this class! It’s a study in half-square triangles

(easy piecing!). You’ll enjoy learning all the possibili-

ties, and see how the simple half-square triangle unit

can blend and blur the straight lines of a geometric

quilt. Treat yourself to some awesome color choices!

Colleen Blackwood from Pendleton will be teaching

this class...it’s one of her exclusive patterns, so you’ll

be learning from the original designer!

leen Blackwood,. Beginning Machine Quilting is an

opportunity to learn the variety of ways you can use

your home sewing machine to quilt your quilts your-

you can take your quilting skills with this class. Once again,

Colleen Blackwood will be teaching for us. Pre-requisite is

a “beginning machine quilting” class or skills in machine

quilting, because this class will take you BEYOND BASIC!

BEYOND BASIC MACHINE QUILTING, October

Lunch by our own Sue Coppin is always included in

your Class Fee (unless other announced).

Unless otherwise announced, classes begin at 10:00

a.m. and run until 4:00-4:30 (or so).
