Notes of Interest
•Students are encouraged to take rigorous
coursework that supports their college and
career goals.
•At the end of the 10th grade year, with written
parental consent, a student may move to the
22 credit Foundation Plan that does not
include an endorsement. This move would
occur under rare circumstances, and
counselors will advise students and parents of
the benefits of an Endorsement.
3/18/2014
25
The Foundation Graduation Plan with an
Endorsement will help students be college and
career ready upon graduating from high school.

Getting Into College
A student must graduate at the distinguished level of achievement to be eligible for automatic admission to a Texas university or college through the Top Ten Percent.
A student who is not eligible for automatic admission may apply to any college or university if the student completes the Foundation Graduation Plan and achieves the appropriate admission requirements.
Earning a distinguished level of achievement with an Endorsement and taking college prep courses such as Algebra II will help all students meet college ready requirements.
3/18/2014
27
Distinguished Level of Achievement
A student may earn a distinguished level of achievement by successfully completing:
•Four credits in Mathematics, which must include Algebra II,
and
•Four credits in Science,
and
•The remaining Foundation Graduation Plan,
and
•The course requirements for at least one endorsement.
3/18/2014

•In dual credit courses by earning 12 or more hours of college credit.
•In bilingualism and bi-literacy.
•On an AP test with a score of 3 or better.
•On the PSAT, the SAT, or the ACT.
