The Office of Career Development assisted in every step of my search for full-time employment. I attended
their resume and interview preparation workshops as a
freshman, and the knowledge I gained there expanded as I began interviewing in my final year. The
career fairs they organize include a multitude of companies from
across the country and provide an excellent opportunity to meet
employers face-to-face, rather than submitting an online application.
Everyone in the office was friendly and welcoming whenever I stopped
in for advice. The advisors understood my interest in
polymers, and brought several new companies with related open positions to my attention. I am
grateful to have had such wonderful guidance as I
established my career path prior to graduation.

Edwards Lifesciences The Career Development staff
was not only helpful when it came to reviewing my resume and cover letter, but they were always there to talk to and gain
another perspective. During the job search process, they
were encouraging when I decided to look beyond the
companies they have worked with previously and would
challenge me to push my limits not only as an engineer, but
also an individual.

I brought a very amateur resume and some optimism into the career office, and Katlyn, my career counselor, was
more than happy to help me with resume formatting, networking, and most importantly, general advice on
how to confidently speak with interviewers and recruiters. The
Career Development staff helped me find an internship with NBCUniversal and was supportive all along the way in my interview process. I learned to ask the right questions and pull off an elevator pitch, and I ended up with a
full-time job at MSNBC upon graduation.

Since I graduated in 2011, I have been
involved with recruitment for Johnson and Johnson. It's great to return to Stevens
and recruit top talent. But it's also a great joy given the hospitality of the Career
Development staff, and their fast response to our every request. I was very happy as a Stevens student looking for a
job and now from the other side as a recruiter hiring Stevens talent.
