A Phi Beta Kappa alumnus, he has written and collaborated on numerous articles on many areas of biological psychiatry and has developed language teaching programs including “Spanish Say Hello,” “Japanese Say Hello,” “English Say Hello” and “Speed English,” all published by WordMate in Skokie, Illinois. Louis earned a Master of Arts degree in education (1954) at CCNY and a Ph.D. (1957) at the University of Chicago. He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and was an exchange scientist at the Bulgarian Academy of Science in 1975 (as part of an exchange program with the U.S. National Academy of Sciences). Louis and his wife, Anne, live in Skokie, Illinois and have three sons, John, David, and Michael. He is an investor, based in Greenwich, Connecticut. He is a member of the American Association of the Knights of Malta, of Legatus. and belongs to many professional and civic organizations. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree (1971) from Baruch College. While at City, he belonged to Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma. He and his wife, Sabina, live in Greenwich and have three children, Martin, Marlene, and Sabrina. Ann Alterman has retired from her work as an elementary school teacher. She belonged to the Education Society at City. A widow, Ann lives in Scarsdale, New York, and has three children, Ava, Daniel, and Harvey. Carl J. Alterman lives in Mamaroneck, New York. Francis J. Louis Aarons is a consulting psychologist for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services in Skokie, Illinois. Martin V. Alonzo has retired as chairman, president and CEO of Chase Industries, Inc. this past September. He is an investor, based in Greenwich, Connecticut. He is a member of the American Association of the Knights of Malta, of Legatus. and belongs to many professional and civic organizations. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree (1971) from Baruch College. While at City, he belonged to Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma. Theodore Barash, an advertising and marketing expert, is a consultant to three companies which market over-the-counter drug and dietary supplements to segments of the health enhancement market. Over the years, he served as: president and CEO of Ted Barash & Company, an advertising and marketing firm; as president of Pritikin Better Health, Inc.; president of Stresscare Systems, Inc., and as director of the National Institute of Electromedicine. Ted has been an active member of the Ad Club of New York, serving on many committees. He has published in professional journals. He and his wife, Helene, live in Delray, Beach, Florida. Arlene Eber Becker has retired as a teacher. She is president of the sisterhood of the Bethpage Jewish Community Center and editor of the center’s newsletter. While at City, she belonged to House Plan. Arlene and her husband, Aaron, a 1951 alumnus of City’s School of Engineering, live in Old Bethpage, New York, and have three daughters, Lynn, Jacqueline, and Helaine. Conrad Berke, known as Connie while at CCNY, is associate publisher of the newspaper, The Jewish Week. He has written “Successful Advertising for Small Businesses” (John Wiley & Sons) and “Successful Advertising Principles” (Saracon Publishing) and is an adjunct professor, teaching advertising and business writing courses, at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey. He was participated in acting and dancing organizations during his City College years. Connie and his wife, Sara, live in Teaneck, New Jersey, and have three children, Robin, Richard, and Randi. Alfred Braun is a semi-retired attorney and insurance broker in Hartsdale, New York. He earned his Juris Doctor degree at New York Law School. Alfred and his wife, Bernice, live in New Rochelle, New York, and have two daughters, Carol and Diane. Selwyn Brent, known as Selwyn Brest while at CCNY, is a retired computer consultant and teacher. He holds a Master of Arts in education degree from City and a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia University. He and his wife, Elaine, live in Huntington Beach, California. They have two sons, Paul and Michael. Martin I. Bresler, an attorney, has retired as a partner in the firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan in Manhattan. He holds a law degree (1955) from Harvard Law School. Martin has served as president of the New York Chapter of the American Jewish Committee and as a national vice president of that organization, as president of the Lexington Democratic Club, vice president of the Federation Employment and Guidance Service, and as an executive committee member of Americans for Peace Now. In 1992, he received the American Jewish Committee’s Stanley M. Isaacs Human Relations Award. He belonged to Theatron at City.

Martin and his wife, Shirley, live in Manhattan and have two daughters, Laura and Ellen. Rosalie Farhi Brill has retired from her work as an elementary school teacher. She has served as a member of the Scholarship Committee of the American Association of University Women, a board member of the Palm Beach Chapter of the American Cancer Society, among other professional and civic activities. While at City, she belonged to the Education Society, the Young Democrats, and House Plan. A widow, Rosalie lives in South Burlington, Vermont and has three children, Eileen, Robert, and Betsy.

John S. Burke, a civil engineer, has retired as deputy county engineer for San Diego County in California. He has been actively involved with young people’s track, field and tennis teams in La Jolla, California, and is a member of several professional organizations. At City, he was involved with the Newman Club, the Alpha Beta Gamma Fraternity, and with Inter School League basketball. He and his wife, Joan, live in La Jolla and have two sons, Terence and Jeffrey.

John B. Cartafalsa is a no-fault arbitrator for the New York State Insurance Dept.. He was awarded the Army’s Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaves and holds the rank of colonel. John earned a law degree at NYU and also graduated (1978) from the Command and General Staff College. He is a commander within the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre. At City, he belonged to ROTC. John and his wife, Lydia Ann, live in Manhattan and have two children, John and Mary.

Herbert L. Chabot is a judge in United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C. He earned a law degree (1957) from Columbia University and a Master of Laws degree (1964) from Georgetown University. A member of many professional organizations, Herbert was elected a delegate to the 1967-68 Maryland Constitutional Convention. He was a member of the Student Council during his CCNY years. Herbert and his wife, Aleen, a 1954 alumna of CCNY’s School of Education, live in Rockville, Maryland and have four children, Elliot, Donald, Lewis, and Nancy Jo.

Robert Chonoles, a chemical engineer, has retired as a plant manager for Occidental Petroleum. He has been a licensed charter boat captain for the United States Coast Guard and a reading tutor at St. Lucie County Elementary School. He was named Volunteer of the Year at the Mariposa Elementary School in Port St. Lucie, Florida for the 2000-2001 school year. Robert and his wife, Carole, live in Port St. Lucie and have three children, Adrienne, Lawrence, and Frank. Jacob Cohen has been project coordinator for professional development

programs in mathematics/education in the School of Education at CCNY for almost 15 years. In 1987, he retired from the New York City public school system after 25 years of serving as assistant principal and supervisor of the Mathematics Department at Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx. He is co-author and editor of several New York City Board of Education curriculum guides in mathematics and co-author of two mathematics textbooks. He has been named Supervisor of the Year for Bronx High Schools and was elected to Kappa Delta Pi, the honor society in education. Jacob earned a Master of Arts degree (1956) at City. He was president of his House Plan, Wiley ’52, and belonged to Hillel during his

undergraduate days. He and his wife, Mabel, live in the Bronx and have two sons, David and Daniel. Rosemary Dunn Conn has retired as an elementary school teacher and math lab specialist for the Smithtown Central Schools. She holds a Master of Science degree in special education (1983) at Long Island University’s C.W. Post College. While at City, she belonged to the Newman Club, the Varsity Club, and the Student Council. Rosemary and her husband, Harry, live in Moriches, New York, and have five children, Michael, Regina, Timothy, Kevin, and Lauren.

Alvin James Conway, a former hospital administrator, has retired from his position as president and CEO of the Catholic Medical center. He earned a Master of Science degree (1954) at Columbia University, belongs to many professional organizations, has received many awards and has published widely. He and his wife, Gail, live in Tarrytown, New York and have four children, James, John, Susan and Christopher.

Morton Crair has retired as program manager of telecommunications systems for the Atlantic Richfield Company. At City, he participated in the Pershing Rifles. He and his wife, Ruth, live in Calabasas, California and have four children, Bruce, Nathan, Beverly, and Michael. Irwin W. Danz, a business consultant, is president of Benchmark Consultants, Inc. in Chicago, Illinois. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree (1960) from CCNY and belongs to the national and the Illinois professional organizations for certified public accountants. Irwin and his wife, Ruth Ellen, live in Wilmette, Illinois and have three children, Caryn, Elizabeth, and Andrew. Sam Davis is a consultant and executive in the management of strategic organizational change with particular expertise in the area of health care institutions. His recent clients

include Quest Diagnostics Inc, The Mount Sinai Medical Center, NY, The Visiting Nurse Service of NY, The United Hospital Fund, Methodist Hospital of Indiana, Indiana University Medical Center, and Kaiser Permanente, Northern California. Sam has been President and Chief Executive Officer of New York’s Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he led one of the first successful participative and collaborative large-scale strategy planning efforts for an academic medical center. He is senior director of the Secta Consulting Group, Inc. and from 1990-99 was leader of the Health Care Practice of the Delta Consulting Group. Sam is also clinical professor at Columbia University’s School of Public Health and a

Distinguished Service Professor at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He has received the Humanitarian Award for Distinguished Service from the National Conference of Christians and Jews. He has served as chairman of the board of Versus Technologies, president of the Columbia University School of Public Health Alumni Association, and as Special Administrator, Board member, and Chair of the Strategy Committee of Medica Health Plans, at the request of the Minnesota Attorney General. Sam has published widely. He earned a Master of Science degree (1957) from Columbia University. He and his wife, Ellen, live in Rye, New York and have four children, Joseph, Thomas, Jonathan, and Jessica. Rosario A. DeFlorio, an engineer, who has retired as a data communications professional. He belongs to several professional organizations. He and his wife, Belinda, live in Rivervale, New Jersey.

Anthony M. Dellatto has retired as a supervisor of shipbuilding for the U.S. Navy in New York. He has published several papers on maintenance of naval ships and equipment and holds Navy civilian service awards and outstanding service awards. Anthony earned a Master’s in Civil Engineering degree from the Polytechnic Institute of New York and belongs to the alumni associations of both that institution and CCNY as well as to several professional organizations. A widower, he lives in Brooklyn and has two children, Judith and Martin.

Clara Grubman Dinner has retired from her work as an elementary school teacher. She earned a Master of Science in Education degree (1958) at City and belongs to the National Education Association. Clara and her husband, Leonard, live in Monsey, New York and have a daughter, Ellen.

Bernard Edelstein has retired as a physician (internal medicine) in Rego Park, New York. A Phi Beta Kappa alumnus, he earned his M.D. degree (1956) at Columbia University. He belongs to the Queens Medical Society and is an attending physician at the New York Medical Center of Queens and at Parkway Hospital. At City, he belonged to the Caduceus Society and the Allegarooters. He and his wife, Barbara, live in Manhasset Hills, New York and have four daughters, Ellen, Lori, Susan and Nancy.

Arthur Elfenbein is an attorney in Woodmere, New York. He earned his law degree (1955) at the Fordham University School of Law. He has been an associate professor at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Sidney H. Engel, a chemical engineer, has retired as a plant manager. He earned a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering (1953) from Columbia University. He and his wife, Ethel, live in Wilmington, Delaware and have three children, Laura, John, and Jim. Sherrie Landau Epstein has a private practice as a marriage and family therapist. A licensed educational psychologist, she served as district psychologist to the Millbrae Elementary School District in California from 1965-1985. She her a Master of Arts degree with our class at City, after having earned her BA at Hunter College. Sherrie did additional graduate work at the University of California at Berkeley. The California Association of School Psychologists named her Outstanding School Psychologist for 1975. Sherrie has written three books, “Child Development through Literature,” “The Teaching Experience through Literature,” and “The Exceptional Child through Literature’ (with Dr. Elliott Landau and Ann Stone), all published by Prentice Hall. She and her husband, Wallace, live in Millbrae and have three children, Eve, Gordon, and Carolyn.

Herbert Max Ernst has retired as a computer engineer for the U.S. Navy, an adjunct professor at the University of the District of Columbia. He has held many high level posts at U.S. Navy and Marine Corps research centers and received Outstanding Performance Awards at the U.S. Navy’s David Taylor Research and Development Center, where he was branch and division chief from 1956-1975. He has written classified and unclassified internal documents for the center and for the U. S. Marine Corps. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree (1971) and completed all but the thesis requirement for a doctorate in that field from the University of Maryland. Herbert and his wife, Ruth, live in Washington, D.C. and have three children, Warren, M. Bonnie, and Elaine.

Bernard Esrig is president of Marathon Infants and Toddlers, Inc., an organization which works with youngsters with disabilities. He has served as president of the Brotherhood Synagogue in Manhattan and on the executive committee of the regional board of the Anti-Defamation League. Bernard and his wife, Paulette, live in Manhattan and have three sons, Seth, Marc, and Dave.

Alan Feigenbaum is single and lives in Bothell, Washington.

Estelle Pilelsky Feldman has retired as a teacher and is now a published children’s writer. She has written “Snowy Winter Day” (Scholastic Press), as well as poems, stories and activities which have appeared in Hopscotch, Boys’ Quest, Lollipops, Ladybug and Humpty-Dumpty Magazines. Estelle chairs the writers’ group of the Rockaway Music and Arts Council and heads Estelle Feldman Productions in Belle Harbor, N.Y. She and her husband, Nathan, live in Belle Harbor and have two children, Ira and Beth.

Sylvia Bluestein Feldman has retired as a CPA and a teacher. She belongs to various community and professional organizations. Sylvia earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Wash College. She is divorced, lives in Southfield, Michigan, and has four children, Robert, Larry, Elyse, and Janet. Donald Feldstein, a social worker, has retired as Associate Executive Vice President of the Council of Jewish Federations in New York. He has been active in Jewish organizations in New York and New Jersey. Donald has published extensively, writing about the field of

social welfare. He received the Outstanding Paper of the Year Award of the Journal of Jewish Communal Service, and has served as president of Young Israel of West Hempstead. He earned a Master of Social Work degree (1954) and a Doctor of Social Work degree (1973) from Columbia University. He and his wife, Shirley, live in Teaneck, New Jersey, and have four children, Michael, Eric, Miriam, and Ruth. Jay S. Ferkin, a management psychologist, heads Jay S. Ferkin Associates in Great Neck, New York. He earned a Master of Arts degree (1953) from CCNY and has done additional

graduate work at Teachers College, Columbia University and at CUNY. Jay is a member of many professional organizations and has served as a trustee of the Village of Great Neck Plaza, and as president of the Claridge Cooperative Apartment Corporation. At City, he served on our class’ Senior Prom Committee and belonged to House Plan. He and his wife, Jacqueline, live in Great Neck and have four children, Susan, Linda, Jeffrey, and Scott. Annette Bergman Fidler, a fund-raiser, has retired as director of special projects for the Planned Parenthood

Federation of America. A member of the National Society of Fundraising Executives, she served during her CCNY years, as co-chair of the Senior Prom Committee, as president of the Education Society, and on House Plan’s Executive Committee. Annette is divorced, lives in Manhattan, and has two children, Lisa and Matthew. Samuel Fillenbaum is a professor of psychology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He earned his Master of Arts degree (1954) and his Ph.D. (1956) at the University of California at Berkeley. Samuel has written “Structure in the Subjective Lexicon” (Academic Press) and “Syntactic Factors in Memory” (Morton). He and his wife, Gerda, live in Chapel Hill and have a daughter, Eve. Hyman Finn has retired as an office manager. He has served as treasurer of Zabokritcher YMBS, Inc. He and his wife, Katalin, live in Brooklyn and have a daughter, Judith. Morton D. Fisch is a doctor of internal medicine in Manhattan. He earned his M.D. degree (1957) at SUNY Downstate and is past president of the Lenox Hill Hospital Alumni Association. He has received a certificate of recognition for 25 years of service as a member of the faculty of NYU Medical School. During his CCNY years, he was a member of the Baskerville Chemistry Society. Morton and his wife, Michele, live in New Rochelle, New York, and have three daughters, Laura, Meg, and Karin.

Evelyn Fox Friedman has retired as a business teacher. She earned a Master of Arts degree (1971) from Teachers College, Columbia University. Evelyn is divorced, lives in Forest Hills, and has three children, Michael, Andrew, and Diane.

Solomon D. Friedman, an attorney, is a partner in Moses and Singer LLP in New York. He earned his Law degree (1961) at Brooklyn Law School. He belongs to several professional organizations. At City, he was a member of the Phi Alpha fraternity. Solomon and his wife, Priscilla, live in Manhattan, and have five children, June (deceased), Carrie, Stephen, Jordan, and Jill.

Burton A. Friedman, an attorney and CPA, has a law practice in Forest Hills. He earned his law degree (1958) at New York Law School and his Master of Laws degree (1964) at New York University. At City, he participated in intramural basketball. Burton and his wife, Barbara, live in Forest Hills and have a son, Daniel.

Herbert Freilich is a physician in Brooklyn, New York. A Phi Beta Kappa alumnus, he earned his M.D. degree (1956) at Downstate Medical Center and a Master of Science in Health Administration (1963) at Columbia University’s School of Public Health. He has written for many professional publications. At City, he participated in the orchestra. Herbert and his wife, Myra, live in Brooklyn, and have six children, Amy, Aaron, Deborah, Joshua, Joel, and Neil.

David Gallant has retired as a psychologist for the Harvard Community Health Plan in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is the author of “Mentally Ill Mothers and Their Children” (1975). David earned his Master of Science degree (1956) at Yale University and his Ph.D. (1972) at Boston University. He and his wife, Erica Harth, live in Watertown, Massachusetts. Carolyn L. Cohen Ganz has retired as a second grade teacher and an adult education teacher of English as a second language for the Syosset Central School District. She earned a Master of Arts degree (1952) from City College. She has served as a PTA president, a delegate representing retired teachers and as secretary to the American Association of

University Women. Claire and her husband, Leonard, live in Syosset, New York, and have two children, Ronald and Haidee. Seymour Gartenberg has retired as executive vice president of CBS Records. He has served as President of The City College Fund, of the American Management Association, of the Institute of Management Accountants, and of the Mill Island Civic Association. Seymour was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters degree 1996 by City College. He and his wife, Phyllis, live in Brooklyn and have three children, Leslie, Karen, and Mark.

Esther Kupinsky Gelbard has retired as an administrative analyst for the New Jersey Department of Human Services in Trenton, New Jersey. She has served as treasurer of the NOW-New Jersey, and is currently treasurer of that organization’s Princeton Area division. She has been a women’s issues specialist and chair of the Speakers Bureau of AARP-New Jersey since 1997. During her CCNY days, she was active in various political clubs and was a member of Goethals ’52 and of the Beaverettes. Mort Gerberg is a freelance cartoonist and writer whose work has appeared in The New Yorker, Playboy, Publishers Weekly, the New York Times and in some 38 books. During his student days, he drew a weekly cartoon, “City Snickers,” for “City Downtown’s” newspaper The Ticker. He has served as president of the Magazine Cartoonist’s Guild and belongs to the Cartoonists Association and the National Cartoonists Society. He has taken extensive coursework at NYU. Mort and his wife, Judith, live in Manhattan and have a daughter, Lilia.

William J. Gibbons, an attorney, has retired as Vice President of Labor Relations for Pan American Airlines and as Senior Vice President of Administration for Max Factor, Inc. He earned his Juris Doctor degree (1959) at St. John’s University and belongs to both the New York State and Oregon State Bar. As a student at CCNY, he was the business manager of the literary magazine, Sound and Fury. William is divorced and lives in Palm Springs, California. He has three children, Laura, Philip, and Sally.

Leonard E. Gilmar, known during his student days as Leonard Glauberman, has retired as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President for finance for the Merit Oil Company in Haverford, Pennsylvania. He earned his Law degree (1955) at Brooklyn Law School. He and his wife, Jaye D. Pinch, live in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania and have five children, Elyssa, Samuel, Rachel, Andrew, and Jonathan.

Stanley Gitner is a photographer for the newspaper North County News in Yorktown Heights, New York. He is also deputy director of the Town of Yorktown Office of Disaster and Emergency Services. Stanley has received many honorary plaques from local fire departments and ambulance corps for his photographic services. He is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. During his CCNY days, he was manager of the football team. He and his wife, Sonia, live in Yorktown Heights and have three sons, Fred, Barry, and Henry. Esther Erika de Beer Glassman has retired as a teacher. She earned a Master of Arts degree in school psychology (1955) at CCNY. Esther and her husband, Wallace, live in New Rochelle, New York and have a son, Jonathan Daniel. Sidney Glodstein is director of the Red Robin Country Day School in Moriches, New York, and has retired as a New York City secondary school health and physical education instructor. He earned his Master of Arts degree (1953) at CCNY. Sidney has served as president of the New York Metro Collegiate Soccer Officials Association and has received the Lasak Award from CCNY’s Varsity Club. During his student days, he played varsity soccer and lacrosse. He has served as an adjunct instructor and as a varsity soccer coach at York College (CUNY). Sidney and his wife, Elaine, live in Massapequa, New York and have four children, Andrew, Jacqueline, Eric, and David. Clifford Gold, a consulting civil engineer, is president of C.G. Engineers in Hackensack, New Jersey. He did his graduate work towards his Master of Civil Engineering degree (1956) at both NYU and Columbia. He belongs to many professional organizations and has published several articles. Clifford and his wife, Marna, live in Fort Lee, New Jersey, and have four children, Geho, Lisa, Mira, and Mitch. Frederick Goldin has retired as a professor of English and of comparative literature at City

College and at CUNY’s Graduate School. He earned his Master of Arts degree (1954) and his Ph.D. (1964) from Columbia University and is the author of “The Mirror of Narcissus” (1967), “Lyrics of the Troubadours and Trouveres” (1973), “German and Italian Lyrics of the Middle Ages” (1973), “The Song of Roland” (1978) and the forthcoming “Walther von der Vogelweide,” among other published works. Frederick was a Fulbright Fellow in 1968 and 1988 and is a fellow of the American Council of Learned Societies. He and his wife, Dione, live in Wappinger, New York, and have a son, Paul.

Harold D. Goldsmith, has retired as an insurance executive and chief operating officer. During his student days, he was captain of the fencing team and has been inducted into the City College Athletic Hall of Fame. He has served as president and director of Westchester Jewish Community Services. Harold and his wife, Del Rene, live in Manhattan and have two sons, John and Robert.

Melvin Goodman, a chemist, has retired as director of analytical services and environment and safety for Revlon Research in Edison, New Jersey. He earned his PhD degree (1962) at NYU. While at City, he was president of the Baskerville Chemistry Society. Melvin and his wife, Minnie, live in Highland Park, New Jersey, and have three children, Larry, Sandra, and Scott.

Jerome H. Gottlieb is senior vice president of the Israel Discount Bank of New York. He and his wife, Bilha, live in Scarsdale, New York and have two children, Oren and Ron. Lino A. Graglia an attorney, is a Professor of Law at the University of Texas School of Law. He earned his law degree (1954) at Columbia Law School. He is the author of “Supreme Court Decisions on Rice: 16 Schools” (Cornell, 1976). He was active in swimming while at CCNY. Lino and his wife, F. Carolyn, live in Austin, Texas and have three children, Vonna, Carol, and Laura.

Mario J. Graglia, a chemical engineer, has retired as supervisor of monitoring and surveillance for Passaic Valley Sewerage Commissioners in Newark, New Jersey. He has been active in dispute resolution in his field. Mario and his wife, Anne, live in Readers, Pennsylvania, and have three children, Marilyn, Matthew, and Peter.

Yvette Glickenstein Gralla has retired as a sales analyst for Gralla Publications in New York. She is vice president of the Woodlands Community Temple and serves on the Board of Directors of Lilith Magazine. While at CCNY, she belonged to House Plan and was on the staff of the yearbook, Microcosm. She and her husband, Larry, a 1951 alumnus, live in Hartsdale, New York and have two daughters, Adele and Heidi.

Jerry Greenbaum has retired as a mathematics professor at Laney College in Oakland, California. He earned a Master of Arts degree (1956) at the State University of Iowa and has been the recipient of a National Science Foundation grant. While at City, he was active in track, in the Laugh Society, and on the Strike Committee. Jerry and his wife, Cathleen Conrad, live in Alameda, California and have three sons, Michael, Peter, and Paul. Howard Greene, known during his CCNY years as Howard Greenberg, is president of the public relations firm Greene, Inc. in Valley Stream, New York. He has received the National Media Award from the National Conference of Christians and Jews. Howard has served as chairman of planning and development for the Inwood Country Club. As a student, he was co-captain of the varsity Boxing team and was on the staff of The Ticker and of Lexicon. He and his wife, Lorna, live in Hewlett Harbor, New York and have two sons, Marc and Jeffrey.

Joseph Greenfield has retired as a professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. He earned his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (1957) at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of “The 68HC11 Microprocessor” (Saunders Press), “Practical Digital Design Using Ics” (Prentice Hall), “Microprocessors and Microcomputers-- The Motorola Series”(Prentice Hall) and “The Microprocessor Handbook” (John Wiley). Barbara, Steven, and Douglas. Helen Martin Griffiths has retired as deputy community superintendent of School District 13 in Brooklyn. She earned her Master of Science in Education degree (1957) at Brooklyn College. She has been active in many organizations and has published articles in many professional publications, including The School Counselor. Seymour P. Gross, a civil engineer, has retired as supervising engineer for the Delaware River Basin Commission in West Trenton, New Jersey. He earned his Master of Science degree in civil engineering (1960) from NYU. He and his wife, Dolores, live in Moorestown, New Jersey and have two sons, George and Robert. Robert Gumerove has retired as an assistant principal and high school

social studies chairman and teacher for the New York City public schools. He earned his Master of Arts degree (1953) at Columbia University, where he did additional graduate work. He has served as a curriculum developer for the New York City Board of Education and as a researcher for the U.S. Army’s Historical Division. Robert has published materials related to the teaching of reading in the social studies and on the integration of Afro-Americans in the U.S. Army. He placed first out of 400 social studies teachers who took the examination for assistant principal in 1970. During his student years at city, Robert was our class historian. He was also a reporter for Observation Post, worked on

Microcosm and was president of the House Plan Association. He and his wife, Lillian, live in the Bronx and have a daughter, Sharon. Gerald J. Hahn, a statistician, has retired as manager of applied statistics in Corporate Research and Development for GE in Niskayuna, New York. He earned Master of Science degrees (1953 and 1965) from Columbia University and from Union College and a PhD degree (1971) from Renssellaer Polytechnic Institute. He has chaired the American Statistical Association’s Committee on Quality and Productivity and the Gordon Research Conference on Statistics, and has served as a trustee for Congregation Gates of Heaven. He has written three books and over 100 articles published in professional journals. Gerald is a fellow of the American Statistical Association and of the American Society for Quality and is active in the International Statistics Institute. He has won awards from these organizations. At City, he was president of the Statistical Society. He and his wife, Bea, live in Schenectady and have three daughters, Adrienne, Susan, and Judy. Milton Halem, a space information scientist, is assistant director and chief information officer for the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics (1968) from NYU and received an honorary doctorate (1999) from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia for his work in computational science. NASA has accorded him its highest award, the Distinguished Service Medal, as well as its Outstanding Management Leadership Medal, the Equal Opportunity Medal, and the Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal. He has served on the editorial boards of the Journal for Supercomputing, and the International Journal for Digital Libraries, among

Roslyn Berkowits Harris has retired from her position as senior vice president of sales for Getting to Know You/Welcome Wagon in Westbury, New York. At City, she was treasurer of the Student Council. Edward L. Hart has retired as a professor of physics at the University of Tennessee. He earned his Ph.D. degree (1959) at Cornell University and has published extensively. He and his wife, Barbara, live in Knoxville, Tennessee and have two sons, Philip and Jason. Ernst Hauser has retired as a senior project engineer and as a teacher of technical subjects. He earned a Master of Science degree (1980) at Fordham University. At City, he won the Student Council Award, and was president of the Stamp Club, a member of the Council of Engineering Clubs. he lived at when he attended CCNY. Evelyn Piggott Henderson has retired as a New York City junior high school teacher of vocal music. He and his wife, Hannah, live in Manhattan and have three children, Katherine, Margaret, and Samuel. Stanley Hills, an engineer, has retired from his career in electrochemical research. He earned a Master of Arts degree (1954) and a Ph.D. degree (1956) at Duke University. He holds several U.S. patents and a Canadian patent, has published several times in the Journal of the Electrochemical Society and received a GE Managerial Award for his work in electrochemical applications and a General Manager’s Award. wife, Anne Dorf-Hills, live in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and have two children, Karen and Kevin. Archibald K. Hinds has retired as an anesthesiologist at Harlem Hospital. director for Textron Systems Division in Wilmington, Massachusetts. He and his wife, Florence, live in Winchester, Massachusetts and have two children, Anne and Stephen.

Martin Ilivicky has retired as superintendent of Brooklyn High Schools for the New York City Board of Education. He earned a Master of Arts degree in international relations (1953) from CCNY and was an exchange student in the Dominican Republic from 1954-55. He received a Danforth Foundation Fellowship from the Association of School Administrators in 1976. He has served as president of the High School Principals Association of New York City, as president of the Association of Teachers of Social Studies of New York City and as an adjunct professor at Hofstra University. Thomas P. Jordan has retired as a mechanical engineer for Unisys in Santa Clara, California. He earned a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering (1956) from Northeastern University. He has written five papers dealing with heat transfer in electronic equipment and on the design of space antennae. He has served as president of Tau Beta Phi. Thomas and his wife, Anna, live in Mountain View, California and have two children, Donna and Richard.

James S. Kahn heads the James S. Kahn Group focusing on consulting activities and short term management assignments focused on strategic planning, analysis and identification of complex corporate management issues, problem solving and facilitation of change in large diverse organization. From 1965-1987, he was founder, chairman and shareholder of several privately held corporations. James earned a Ph.D. in geological sciences (1956) from the University of Chicago. He has served as a faculty member at the University of Rhode Island, as a managing director for the Physics International Company in San Leandro, California, as deputy director and chief operating officer of the Nuclear Test Program at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory of the University of California, and as president, CEO

and director of the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. He and his wife, Barbara, live in Reno, Nevada, and have three children. Leonard S. Kahn, an engineer, has retired as vice president of the Allied Signal Corporation in Teterboro, New Jersey. Renee Epstein Kahn is an instructor in art history at the University of Connecticut in Stamford, Connecticut. She earned a Master of Arts degree (1955) at CCNY. She has served as a Governor’s appointee to the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation, among many other civic activities. She has served as director of the Historic Neighborhood Preservation Program in Stamford, and as consultant to the Stamford Community Development Program as well as to other public agencies. Renee has written “Preserving Porches” (Henry Hold, 1990), edited a quarterly newsletter, “Historic Neighborhood News,” and worked with the Historic Neighborhood Preservation to produce a video, “Lost Stamford.” At City, she was a member of the Student Council. Ned, and Eve. Basil Kamener has retired from IBM-New York, where he held many positions including project manager, systems analyst and senior instructor. George Kaye, known during his student years as George Katzias, has retired as an ordinance engineer for the Picatinny Arsenal. He has also worked as a real estate agent. School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. He is in the midst of completing “Tall: The American Skyscraper and Louis Sullivan.” Among his other films are “We Were So Beloved,” “Stations of the Elevated,” “Bridge High,” “Short Circuit,” “Claw,” “Leroy Douglas,” “Haiku,” and “Colossus on the River.” He has received two Blue Ribbons from the American Film Festival, first prize at the Yale Film Festival, a New York Independent Filmmaker Exposition International Award, and an Urban Focus Festival Award. He wrote a book, “We Were So Beloved” (University of Pittsburgh Press, 1997). At City, he was head of the Theater Bureau. Herbert M. Kliebard is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he served as Chair of the Department of Educational Policy Studies. He has been Vice President for Curriculum Studies for the American Educational Research Association and is a member of the National Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Sciences. School in Riverdale. She has produced and appeared in several television programs regarding Community School District 6’s special programs and has written curriculum guides for that school district. She has received the Outstanding Educator Award from the New York City Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and is a past president of that organization. Richard G. Kregel, an engineer, has retired as a manager for Texaco. He is a past president of the Texas Association of Environmental Professionals, is a member of the American Petroleum Institute, the Harris County Appraisal Review Board and serves as a docent at the Houston Zoo. Charles H. Lamendola has retired as a chiropractic doctor in Brooklyn, New York. He earned his Master of Arts degree (1957) at Columbia University and a Doctor of Chiropractic (1960) at the Chiropractic Institute of New York, where he has served as president of the Alumni Association. He served for 16 years as a delegate to the American Chiropractic Association, of which he is a life member. He is a fellow of the International College of Chiropractors. At City, he was a member of the Baskerville Chemistry Society. Charles and his wife, Toni, live in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and have a son, John.

Jacqueline Wolfe Lederman has retired as chairperson of the Business Education Department at Beach Channel High School in Queens. She earned a Master of Science in Education degree (1954) at CCNY. Jacqueline has served as Sisterhood President of the B’nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton, Florida, and as president of the Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Organization in Palm Beach County. She served as Guardiem Ad Litem for the Broward County Court System for 10 years. She has been an elected school board member in Queens and president of the Queens Federation of the PTA. She was selected J.C. Penney Volunteer of the Year for Palm Beach County and received the JAFCO Child Advocate Award for Broward County. At City, she was a member of Hillel. Mort Levine has retired as president and general manager of Durex Industries, Inc. in Clifton, New Jersey. He studied in CCNY’s master’s degree program. While at City, he was sports editor for Observation Post and for the yearbook. Mort and his wife, Joyce, live in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey and have two sons, Howard and Gene.

Melvin Levy, a civil engineer, has retired as senior civil engineer and chief tunnel engineer for the New York City Transit Authority. He earned his Master of Science in Civil Engineering degree (1964) at the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. He served as president of Chapter 2, Local 375 of the Engineers Union at the Transit Authority from 1981 to 1999. Melvin and his wife, Sylvia, live in Brooklyn and have two children, Jeffrey and Fran.

Booker T. Lewis has retired as a management analyst at the Naval Supply Center in Norfolk, Virginia. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree at George Washington University. He and his wife, LaEunice, live in Suffolk, Virginia and have a foster daughter, Phyllis. Manfred Lichtenstadter, a chemical engineer, has retired as senior engineer for Hercules, Inc. in Wilmington, Delaware. He belongs to several professional organizations and received a Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Corrosion Engineers. Manfred and his wife, Marlene, live in Newark, Delaware and have six children, Steven, Mark, Jill, Phillip, Sondra, and Kristen.

Harry Lieberman is a marriage and family therapist. He earned his Master of Arts degree (1978) from San Francisco State University and is a member of the California Association of Marriage Family Therapists. Martha Glassman Lieberman has retired as a psychologist who has served on the staff of various consulting agencies and hospitals. She is editor of Oasis, a newsletter, and an instructor. Marjorie Wallach Luxenberg has retired as a teacher and is a property developer and rancher. She holds a master’s degree and school administration credentials. Marjorie is active in the Lido Isle Yacht Club, the Lido Isle Tennis and Women’s Club, the American Legion, the Philharmonic Society, and is vice president of D Lux Builders. A widow, she lives in Newport Beach, California and has three sons, Lon, Jeffrey, and Matthew.

Constance Anderson Lynch has retired as a reading specialist. She earned a Master’s degree (1959) at CCNY and administrative certification (1975) from Hofstra University. She has been a lecturer at City College and at Medgar Evers College (CUNY), as well as a guest speaker on “Straight Talk” (Channel 9) for the Older Women’s League. She has also been a panelist and presenter at many reading forums, active in many professional organizations, and a guest columnist for the Charlotte Herald Tribune. Constance is a widow and lives in Punta Gorda, Florida. Frank J. Maguire has retired from the U.S. Army where he served as a lieutenant colonel. He was assistant director of the Veterans Employment and Training Service for the U.S. Department of Labor. He is active in many organizations including the Wilton Kiwanis, the Wilton Veterans Day and Memorial Day Committee and the Connecticut Retired Officers Organization. He and his wife, Maureen, live in Wilton, Connecticut and have four children, Siobhan, Barrett, Bevin, and Leslie. Umberto Malfa, a technical writer, known as Albert while at City College, has retired as technical services manager for Unisys Corporation in Reston, Virginia. At City, he belonged to the Government and Law Society and the Linguistics Circle. He and his wife, Marilyn, live in Manhattan. Alan M. Mantis is semi-retired and works in textile brokerage, sourcing and sales for Coach Textiles International. He has been an active member of Congregation Beth Israel in Hempstead, New York. Alan earned a Master in Business Administration degree (1959) from CCNY. He and his wife, Adrienne, live in Hempstead and have two sons, Martin and Gary. Harold Matusof has retired as project manager of operation and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical systems of the high rise office building Ogden Corporation at 2 Pennsylvania Plaza. Hansel L. McGee has retired as a judge at the Supreme Court of Bronx County. He holds a Master of Science degree in chemistry from the Polytechnic Institute and a law degree from George Washington University. He has received numerous awards. Hansell has been civically active, having served as chairman of the Southeast Bronx Neighborhood Center, as a board member of the Martin Luther King Center, as founder and chairman of the board of African-American Legal Defense, and founder and board chairman of the Harriet Tubman Charter School. He and his wife, Mildred, live in the Bronx and have two children, Elizabeth and Leland. Victor Medina has retired as director of the Office of Research Administration and

Advancement of the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. He earned his Master of Public Administration degree (1972) at NYU. A nature photographer and a writer, Victor and his wife, Barbara, have put together two books, “Wildflowers of the Central Appalachians” and “Wildflowers of the Southern Appalachians” which will be published by Falcon Press in Spring 2002. Victor is a former officer of the National Council of University Research Administrators and has been vice president of the University Research Corporation International, an affiliate of the University of Maryland. He and Barbara live in Silver Spring, Maryland and have three children, June, Joseph, and Laura.

Stanley Meisler has retired as foreign and diplomatic correspondent for The Los Angeles Times and continues to do freelance writing. He has written a book, “United Nations: The First 50 Years” (Atlantic Monthly Press) as well as many articles for The Smithsonian, Foreign Policy, Foreign Affairs, the Atlantic, the Nation, and other top publications. He received the Korn/Ferry International Award for UN Reporting in 1992 and 1994. At City, he was editor of Sound and Fury, the literary magazine. Stanley and his wife, Elizabeth Fox, live in Washington, D.C. and have six children, Samuel, Joshua, Gabriel, Jenaro, Michael, and Michele.

Joseph Mesmer has retired as an attorney. He earned his Juris Doctor degree (1957) at Brooklyn Law School. He and his wife, Etta, live in Encino, California and have two children, Jonathan and Sharon. Isadore Miller has retired from a career in the television field as an

executive for television networks. He has served as national treasurer of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), as a member of its executive committee and as governor and vice president of its New York Chapter. Isadore handled business affairs for Proctor and Gamble’s serials for seven years. He has been president and a member of the board of the Prime Life Network, senior vice president and a member of the board of Angel Production and has worked extensively in the area of cable television. He has received medallions for service from NATAS and from Jewish Family Services of Northern Middlesex County, New Jersey. He earned a Master of Business

Administration (1958) from City and a law degree (1970) from Lasalle Extension University. At City, he was on the fencing squad. Isadore and his wife, Lilly, live in Monroe

Township, New Jersey and have two daughters, Laura and Elise. Donald J. Mirabel, a Phi Beta Kappa alumnus, has retired as vice president of EJM Entertainment, Inc. in Hicksville, New York. He and his wife, Cynthia, live in Old Bethpage, New York and have three children, Bonnie, Susan, and Evan.

Jerry Mogul, known during his student days as Jerome Mogilensky, is a metallurgical engineer and a consultant. He has retired as vice president of the Artech Corporation. He has also been director of material engineering for the Metal Improvement Company and director of materials and processing engineering for the Curtiss Wright Corporation. He earned a Master of Science in metallurgy (1957) at the Stevens Institute of technology and has done additional graduate work. He and his wife, Lillian, live in Northport and have two children, Deborah and Richard, Jr.

Florence Chano Mosner has retired as an elementary school teacher in New York City. She taught at PS 98, PS 133 and PS 197, all in Manhattan and at PS 175, Queens. She was honored by Community School District 28 as one of the national winners of a contest sponsored by Washington’s National Gallery. At City, she was active on The Campus, on the Senior Prom Committee, in Lambda Sigma Phi and the Education Society. Florence is a widow and lives in Rego Park, New York. Joan Berger Moss has retired as an elementary school teacher of the gifted in the Bridgewater-Raritan School District in New Jersey. She earned a Master of Education degree (1970) from Rutgers University and a certificate as an educational specialist (1987) from the University of Arizona. She has served as vice president of the New Jersey Association for Teachers of the Gifted, president of a chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, vice president of the Bridgewater-Raritan Education Association and is active in Jewish affairs. Paula Litman Murzin has retired as director of grants for the Trumbull Public Schools in Trumbull, New Jersey. Leonard Naphtali has retired as a senior computer analyst for the IBM Corporation in Armonk, N.Y. He presented a paper at MIT and another at a major computer conference. Leonard and his wife, Selma, live in Yorktown Heights, New York and have a daughter, Lisa.

Stanley Z. Nathanson is a partner and owner of Swan-Benedict Motels. At City, he was a member of a group that entertained at veterans’ hospitals and at Army bases in the metropolitan area. He and his wife, Eileen, live in Westfield, New Jersey and have three children, Lori, Randi, and David.

Stanley J. Neuwirth has retired as assistant principal of the Social Studies Department at Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. He earned his Master of Arts degree (1958) at CCNY, where he belonged to House Plan. He and his wife, Barbara, live in the Bronx and have two daughters, Debra and Carol.

Marvin Novick, a certified public accountant, is president of R&M Resources in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He has been an advisor, consultant and trustee to several privately held companies individual trusts and nonprofit organizations and is a member of several professional organizations. Marvin earned a Master in Business Administration degree at NYU. He is civically active and has served as chairman and trustee of the Advisory Committee of Providence Hospital, of the Oak Park Board of Education, of the Michigan Association of Emotionally Disturbed Children, and of Temple Beth El. Albert S. Palatnick has retired as an electronic engineer and engineering manager for All Systems, Inc. in Deer Park, New York. Albert earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree (1955) from Columbia University and a Master of Business Administration degree (1981) from Long Island University. Vincent Pernice, a mechanical engineer, has retired as project leader in vehicle and aircraft design. He earned a Master of Mechanical Engineering degree (1953) from City College. He and his wife, Rosaria, live in Seaford, New York and have two children, Joseph and Dorothy.

Harvey Peskin, a psychologist, is a professor at San Francisco State University and is in private practice in Berkeley, California. He is president of the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California and has written articles in professional journals as well as book chapters. He earned a Ph.D. degree (1959) from the University of California at Berkeley. At City, he was a member of the editorial group of Sound and Fury, the literary magazine. He and his wife, Tsipora, live in Berkeley and have two sons, Aaron and Victor.

Fred Pine, a psychologist, is professor emeritus at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and has a private practice in Manhattan. He earned his Ph.D. (1956) from Harvard University. He has written numerous books and journal articles and is past president of the American Psychological Association’s Division of Psychoanalysis. He and his wife, Sandra, live in Manhattan and have two children, Rachael and Daniel.

Murray Pitkowsky is senior vice president and secretary, of Datascope Corp., which develops, manufactures and sells medical devices. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree (1954) at the University of Pennsylvania. Murray and his wife, Peggy, live in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey and have four children, Lisa, Fayne, Daniel and Erica.

Diane Kopperman Podell is a professor and academic librarian at Long Island University’s C.W. Post campus in Brookville, N.Y. She earned her Master of Library Science degree (1974) from Queens College and a certificate in administration and supervision (1981) from Long Island University’s Palmer School. She wrote “Thematic Atlases for Public Academic and High School Libraries” (Scarecrow Press, 1994), is a major contributor to Volume I of “Handbooks to the Modern World: The United States” edited by Godfrey Hodgson for Facts on File (1992) and is included in Volume 149 of “Contemporary Authors.” At City, she belonged to the Sociology Society. Diane is divorced and lives in Jericho, New York. She has four children, Janet, Susan, David, and Roger.

Edward Pollack is a professor of physics at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut. He is a fellow of the American Physics Society. He earned his Master of Science degree (1954) and his Ph.D. (1963) from NYU. He is the author of two book chapters and of “Primarily in Atomic and Molecular Physics,” which has been published in the Physical Review from 1957 to the present. At City, he was a member of the orchestra. He and his wife, Rita, live in Storrs and have three children, Cynthia, Lois, and Howard. Morton Povman is an attorney in practice in Forest Hills. He was a member for the New York City Council from 1971-2001, setting a record for longevity (he left due to term limits). He has won many awards for community service and has been a member of the Queens Jewish Community Council. He earned his law degree (1955) from Brooklyn Law School. At City, he was in the college band and a member of the APO fraternity. He and his wife, Sandra, live in Flushing, N.Y. and have two sons, Michael and Bruce. Martin Raphael, an engineer specializing in alarm and security systems, is vice president of engineering for Ademco in Syosset, New York. Morton D. Ray, a certified public accountant, is senior tax manager at M.R. Weisert & Company in Manhattan. He participated in varsity football at City. He and his wife, Joan, live in Wantagh, New York and have two children, Mikelene and Joel.

Harold Reff is president of his own firm. He and his wife, Phoebe, live in Tarzana, California and have three children, Ellen, Caren, and Susan.

Julius Reiner, a consulting engineer, has retired from his position as an engineer for GE. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree (1975) at Syracuse University. He has published several papers he has presented at IEEE meetings and has served as chairman of the Mohawk Valley IEEE Section. At City, he belonged to Tau Beta Pi. He and his wife, Sophie, live in Bradenton, Florida and have three sons, Alexander, Steven, and Victor. Nicholas A. Renzi, an engineer, has retired as president

of Pall Trinity Micro Division in Cortland, New York. He earned a Master of Science degree (1955) at Columbia. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Cortland Memorial Hospital Foundation, the SUNY-Cortland Foundation, the Cortlandville Planning Board and chairman of the financial committee of the Tomkins-Cortland Community College Foundation’s board. He and his wife, Agnes, live in Cortland and have two sons, Nicholas, Jr., and Christopher.

Sy Richman has retired as chairman of marketing and public relations for Dunwoodie Communications, Inc. in New York. He has served as president of the Flushing Y, a trustee of Eisner Camp and received awards for his service to the UJA-Federation. At City, he was our class president, served on the Student Council and wrote for Observation Post. Sy and his wife, Marjorie, live in Flushing, New York and have two children, Charles and Ann.

Hallan E. Riley, Jr. has retired as a New York State tax auditor. He is a vestry person at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in the Bronx. He and his wife, Florence, live in the Bronx and have five children, Dolores, Yvonne, Donna, Michael, and Doreen. Isaac Rinkevich is a consulting engineer for A to Z New

Products Development Company in New Jersey. He and his wife, Shura, live in Hightstown, New Jersey and have two daughters, Rina and Gina.

Audrey Rosen has retired as a nursery school teacher at the Westchester Ethical Humanist Society. She works as administrative assistant to a designer-owner of a furniture company, Cumberland, and as administrative assistant to a print reproduction company, Classic Collections. She has served on the Board of Directors of several community organizations. Audrey is a widow and lives in Ardsley-on-Hudson, New York. She has three children, Robin, Jonathan and Chris. Sylvia Finkel Rosenberg teaches culinary arts at community organizations and at the Retired Teachers Learning Center and is in the process of preparing a cookbook. She has retired as an elementary school guidance counselor in Community School District 2 in Manhattan. Sylvia was first in her class when she earned a Master of Science degree in school counseling (1963) at City and notes that her thesis, on the achievement motive of children, can be found in the CCNY library. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the Education Honor Society’s graduate division. As an undergraduate, she was a reporter for the student newspaper, The Ticker. Sylvia is divorced and lives in Brooklyn.

Gerald F. Ross is president and CEO of Anro Engineering, Inc. in Sarasota, Florida. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree (1955) and a PhD in electrical engineering (1963) from Polytechnic University, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree (1979) from Harvard. He holds 61 patents, has written three books and roughly 100

At City, he was active in Alpha Phi Omega, the scouting fraternity. He and his wife, Vivian, live in Longboat Key, Florida and have three children, Jayne, Steven, and Helene. Richard B. Ross has retired as a teacher. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree (1961) at CCNY, a two Master of Arts degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University (1959 and 1981). At City, he was active in the “74 Club.” Richard and his wife, Gladys, and live in Eastchester, New York and have two children, Susan and Robert. Arnold Roth has retired as a supervisory physical scientist in the area of hazardous materials management at McClellan Air Force Base in California. He and his wife, Ruth, live in Sacramento, California and have three sons, Bruce, Michael, and Harry. Ludwig Rudel has retired from two careers. From 1955-1980, he was an economist with the U.S. Foreign Service. From 1980-2001, he was a resort developer, as president of the Glendale Corporation in Flinton, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Mission to Turkey from 1960-62 and the U.S. Mission to India from 1965-70. Ludwig received the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Superior Honor Award in 1968. He has published several articles about international trade and economic development in less developed countries. He earned a Master of Arts degree in government (1959) from NYU and a Master of Arts degree in economics (1965) from the University of Michigan. During his undergraduate years at City, he worked full time and initially attended the evening session. He lived at Army Hall. He was involved in the student strike of 1948, protesting against the bigoted Professors Knickerbocker and Davis. He was also involved with ROTC, received his commission, and went on to serve in the U.S. Army Infantry as a lieutenant from 1953-55. Ludwig and his wife, Joan, live in Bethesda, Maryland and have three children, RuthAnn, David, and Joanna. Edwin Rudetsky has retired as an assistant principal in the New York City public schools and an adjunct professor of English at Kingsborough Community College. He earned a Master of Arts degree (1959) at CCNY. He and his wife, Gloria, live in Palm Desert, California and have four children, Beth, Michael, Nancy, and Seth.

Barbara Klirsfeld Ruzinsky, a writer and editor, is a principal in Ruzinsky and Associates in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She writes a real estate column in New Mexico Business Weekly and has written for Su Casa Magazine, New Mexico Business Journal, and been an editor for Pacific Coast Builder and Western Building Design. She has also been a reporter-editor for Women’s Wear Daily. She received Awards of Excellence and Merit from the International Association of Business Communicators and has received the Cumbre Silver Award from the New Mexico Public Relations Society of America. Barbara has been a member of the Board of Directors of Friends of the Public Library and the newsletter editor for the National Association of Women Business Owners’ Northern New Mexico Chapter. At City, she was editor of the Ticker, of the yearbook, of

Accounting Forum and of “The Beaver Handbook.” She earned a Master of Science degree (1953) from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. Barbara is divorced and lives in Albuquerque. She has two daughters, Lynn and Debra. Dorothy Horowitz Saland has retired as a high school teacher of biology and chemistry and as high school guidance counselor. Her hobby is ballroom dancing, which she has taught on cruise ships. She has also been a lecturer and has done ballroom choreography for shows and served as a consultant on ballroom dancing, as well as being a dancer herself. She earned a Master of Science degree in Education and a Master of Arts in counseling from CCNY. At City, Dorothy belonged to the Caduceus Society, the Bacteriological Society and House Plan. She and her husband, Leonard, who is a class of 1951 alumnus, live in Somers, New York. They have two children, Joel and Erika. Robert J. Salgado is a freelance photojournalist. He earned a Master of Science in journalism (1957) from Columbia University. At City, he was involved with Observation Post. Robert and his wife, Nancy, live in New Hope, Pennsylvania and have a son, Robert III. Walter J. Salmon is the Stanley Roth, Professor of Retailing at Harvard Business School at Soldiers Field, Boston, Massachusetts. Robert I. Sann is an engineer in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. He earned a Master of Science degree (1956) and a Ph.D. degree (1964) from NYU. He is a lifetime member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and has served on the Board of Adjustment of Englewood Cliffs. Robert has authored 12 technical papers and holds two patents. During his CCNY years, he belonged to the jazz club. He and his wife, Myra, live in Englewood Cliffs and have three children, Ronald, Marcia, and Melissa. Anthony Scarola is an accountant. He and his wife, Ann, live in Brooklyn and have four children, Ann Marie, Frances, Toni Gean, and Anthony. Harry B. Schaechter is president of the Schaechter Advertising Agency, in West Hartford, Connecticut. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree (1952) at the University of Hartford and a degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He has served as president of the Kiwanis Club, chair of the West Hartford Zoning Board of Appeal, Commissioner of the Board of Assessment, chair of the Housing Authority, a Town Council Alternate and chair of the Greater Hartford Flood Committee. He and his wife, Ida, live in West Hartford and have two daughters, Judith and Lauren. Bertram Scharf is research professor emeritus of psychology at Northeastern University, where he has been a faculty members since 1958. He has been a visiting scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Helsinki and Helsinki Technical University, at Syracuse University, and the Laboratoire de Mecanique et d’Acoustique. He has also done research or taught at Harvard, the Technische Hochschule in Stuttgart, Germany, the Universite de Provence, and he Universite d’Aix-Marseille. He is a fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and the American Association for the Advancement of Science and an honorary member of the Acoustical Society of Finland. He has received the National Science Foundation U.S. France Program Exchange Award and the Fechner Medal of the International Society for Psychophysics (1995). He has published extensively in scientific journals and books. Bernard and his wife, Anna Liisa Pylvanen, live in Brookline, Massachusetts and have two children, Riitta Liisa and Jonathan Lauri. Aaron Schechter is a certified public accountant. He earned a Master of Arts degree in education. At City, he was active on the newspaper, The Ticker. Fanchon, live in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York and have two children, Joanna and Joshua. Emil Scheller, an attorney, has retired as legal director for trademarks and copyrights for the Schering-Plough Corporation in Kenilworth, New Jersey. He earned his Juris Doctor degree (1955) from Columbia. He is currently president of the Montclair Neighborhoods association and has been an active member of many professional organizations. He has written numerous professional articles. At City, he was a member for the Student Council, secretary of our class, and president of the Young Liberals. He and his wife, Nina, live in Montclair, New Jersey and have a daughter, Nicole.

Irwin Schiffres, an attorney and legal editor, has retired as editor of American Jurisprudence for the Lawyers Cooperative Publishing Company. He earned his Juris Doctor degree (1955) from Harvard Law School. He has published many professional articles and was selected Man of the Year by B’nai B’rith. He has been president of the Upstate New York Council of B’nai B’rith. At City, he was president, vice president and secretary of the Student Council and president of the Hillel Foundation. Irwin and his wife, Mimi, a 1953 alumna (known then as Minnie Gelman), live in Rochester, New York and have two children, Deborah and Jeremy.

Lucille Gendal Schroeder has retired as a first grade teacher for the Westwood Washington Township School System in New Jersey. She earned a Master of Arts degree (1957) from Columbia. Lucille has been active with the Rockland Players, an improvisational group which is part of the Mental Health Association of Rockland County and has been an artistic director and actress in community theater. She and her husband, Arthur, live in Nanuet, New York and have two children, Beth and Mitchell.

Doris Goldfarb Schudrich has retired as an elementary school teacher. Over the years, she has taught classes from the nursery school level through the college level. She earned a Master of Arts degree in education (1955) at City and has been active in her synagogue and in after-school volunteer programs. She notes that while she has held no official posts, she feels that the honor of having been able to “teach and hopefully inspire children,” was “made possible by an education at CCNY.” Doris is a widow and lives in Silver Spring, Maryland. She has four children, Michael, Brynna, Nathaniel, and Alexander.

J. Henry Schwartz, a civil engineer, has retired as vice president and chief engineer for Perini Corporation in Hawthorne, New York. He earned a Master’s of Industrial Engineering degree (1960) from NYU. He is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a member of the Moles. He has written a paper on the construction of the Second Avenue Subway. He and his wife, Alma, live in Darien, Connecticut and have two children, Elizabeth and Richard. Jerome Arthur Seidman, a certified public accountant, is a senior partner

with BDO Seidman in Manhattan. He earned a Juris Doctor degree (1959) and a Master of Law in taxation (1962) from NYU. He has served the Scarsdale Town and Civic Association many leadership capacities and has been a trustee and treasurer of the Scarsdale Foundation. He has also been active in top leadership positions within the New York State Society of CPAs and other professional organizations. He was on the Law Review at NYU Law School and belongs to several honors fraternities. At City, he was active in fencing, wrestling and belonged to House Plan. He and his wife, Evelyn, live in Scarsdale, New York and have two children, Sharon and Steven.

Jay William Seligman has retired as senior vice president for construction for Olympia and York Developments in Manhattan. He and his wife, Florence, live in Manhattan.

James Selkin, a psychologist, has retired as director of the Darron Clinic. He earned a Ph.D. degree (1962) from the University of Colorado. He has been president of the American Association of Suicidology and is the author of two books and 14 articles. At City, he belonged to the Psychology Club. He and his wife, Arlette, live in Denver, Colorado and have two children, Philip and Joelle. Ronald Shapey is a certified public accountant in

Leonard Shapiro, an engineer and a consultant, has retired as Vice President for Engineering and Research and Development for Alfa Laval, Inc. He earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree (1959) from Drexel University. He has contributed a chapter to the Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology (John Wiley and Sons), Fourth Edition, Volume 21 and holds 22 U.S. patents. He has been Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Non Profit Mental Hospital, chairman of the Sewer and Water Commission of his township, and an instructor at the Center for Learning in Retirement, among other professional and community activities. At City, he belonged to Tau Beta Pi, Pi Tau Sigma, Sigma Phi Omega and the ASME’s student chapter. He and his wife, Bernice, live in Doylestown, Pennsylvania and have a daughter, Robin.

Samuel Siegel, a certified public accountant, is Vice Chairman Emeritus and Chief Financial Officer Emeritus of the Nucor Corporation in Charlotte, North Carolina. In anticipation of his retirement, the New York Stock Exchange invited him to ring the closing bell on the day of his 38th anniversary with Nucor. Samuel is a member of many professional organizations and has been a guest lecturer at the Business Week CEO Summit, the World Research Group, the World Economic Development Congress, and many other topflight gatherings. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Opera Carolina. He and his wife, Raenea, live in Charlotte and have two children, Daryl

and Annie. Rosemarie Mann Siegler has retired as a special education teacher. She earned a Master’s degree (1973) at Seton Hall University. She and her husband, Alfred, live in Boynton Beach, Florida and have three children,

Robert Silver has retired. He is single, lives in Floral Park, New York, and has two children, Harrison and Marisa. Sam Silverberg, an aerospace engineer, has retired from his position as

business unit leader of a $500 million spacecraft program for Hughes Electronics. He earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree (1959) and a PhD in that field (1969) at the University of Southern California. He has received an Aerospace Corporation Scholarship Grant and is a member of the Pi Tau Sigma Honorary Mechanical Engineering Society. During his CCNY years, he belonged to Epsilon Mu Gamma, the engineering fraternity. He and his wife, Anita, live in Palos Verdes Peninsula, California and have four children, Marlene,

JoAnn, Debra, and Robert. Jerry Silverman is a musicologist, author and folksinger. He has written over 200 books including “Folk Blues,” “The Folksinger’s Guitar Guide,” “The Folk Song Encyclopedia,” “How to Play The Guitar,” “Ballads,” “Songs of the Civil War,” “Immigrant Song Book,” and “Flame: Ballads and Songs of the Holocaust.” Jerry earned a Master of Arts degree (1955) at NYU. He and his wife, Tania, live in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York and have three children, David, Antoine, and Mikael. Julius Siskind has retired as a certified public accountant in Chicago. He and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Williamstown, Massachusetts and have three children, Samuel, Paul, and Maria Vittoria. Marilyn Grossman Siskind has retired as a teacher and as a customer service person at Prentice Hall Books. International Telecommunications in Dallas, Texas. He has been president of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society and served on the Board of Directors of the IEEE Communications Society. He is a fellow of the IEEE and of the Radio Club of America. He has received the Microwave Career Award, the IEEE Centennial Medal and the IEEE Millennium Medal. He has earned a Master of Science in Education degree (1956) and a PhD degree (1960) from the University of Michigan. He and his wife, Marion, live in Dallas, Texas and have four children, Diane, Neil, Jessica, and Martin.

Adelyn (Addie) Soifer, a clinical psychologist, has retired as a school psychologist and as a professor. She is in private practice in Manhattan. She earned a Ph.D.. degree (1968) from Yeshiva University. She has written “Clinical Approach to Learning Disabilities: Overlooked Medical Contributions to Psychological Problems.” At City, she was involved with the Journal of Social Studies. Addie is single and lives in Manhattan. Julian Soren has retired as a geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey. He has published extensively. Julian is a World War II veteran, who served in the U.S. infantry. He is a fellow of the Geological Society of America. He is president of the Levittown Rod and Gun Club. At City, he was on the ROTC Rifle Team and was active with the Pershing Rifles. A widower, Julian lives in Levittown, New York and has had three children, Melinda (deceased), Joshua, and Ethan.

Joseph Soury has retired as a school principal for the Rye City Schools. A Phi Beta Kappa alumnus, he has been chair of the Rye Administrators Association and has been active in many professional and civic organizations. He earned a Master of Science in Education (1957) and an Ed.D. (1968) at NYU. He was active in Phi Delta Kappa at both institutions. He was selected a National Distinguished Principal. At City, he was involved with the band. Joseph and his wife, Miriam, live in New Rochelle, New York and have three children, Aaron, Julie, and Elly.

Carl Spielvogel is one of the nation’s leading international business executives and former U.S. Ambassador to the Slovak Republic. He began his career as a reporter and six-time weekly advertising columnist for The New York Times, where he remained for 10 years. He later became executive vice president and general manager of the advertising agency McCann-Erickson, Inc. and later vice chairman of the Interpublic Group of Companies. He founded Backer Spielvogel Bates Worldwide, Inc., an advertising firm which did business in 55 countries. He then became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the United Auto Group, Inc. where he built a $4 billion sales company of 65 automobile dealerships. President Clinton appointed Carl to be a founding governor of the U.S. Board of Broadcasting, responsible for the Voice of America, Radio Free Europe, Radio Asia, Radio Marti, and other international outlets of our government. He has served as Trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New York Philharmonic, Lincoln Center, the Asia Society, Eureka Communities, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is a member of the CCNY Communications Alumni Hall of Fame. He and his wife, Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel, live in Manhattan. They have three children, David, Rachel, and Paul. Janet King Spiro is a partner in a catering business, Picnic Idea, in San Diego. She has served as a docent at an art museum, a volunteer for the Democratic party, and is involved with local theaters, museums, and jazz organizations. At City, she belonged to House Plan. Janet is a widow and lives in San Diego. She has three children, Paul, Toni, and Jonathan.

Lori Spitzbard, an accountant, known during her CCNY years as Lorelei Benezra, has retired from her position as assistant comptroller for Henry-Richards in Hamden, Connecticut. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree (1981) from the University of New Haven and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Management Accountants in New Haven. A widow, Lori lives in Orange, Connecticut and has two children, Ken and Melanie.

Thomas J. Stapleton is a senior engineer scientist specialist in the area of aerospace for Boeing in Long Branch, California. He and his wife, Mariana, live in Fullerton, California and have four children, Joseph, Kathleen Margaret, and Paul.

Donald B. Stern, a certified public accountant, has retired as a partner in Israeloff Trattnor and Company in Valley Stream, New York. He has been chairman of various committees of the New York State CPA Society’s Nassau Chapter, a trustee of the Great Neck Library, and a member of the Advisory Board of Great Neck Adult Education. At City, he belonged to the Accounting Society and to Phi Epsilon Pi. He and his wife, Muriel, live in New Hyde Park, New York and have two daughters, Mindie and Janie.

Bernard Sternberg, an attorney and certified public accountant, is president of his own firm in Tamarac, Florida. He earned a law degree (1955) at Brooklyn Law School, where he was a member of the Brooklyn Law Review. He has been president of Emergency Communications for Broward County. Bernard and is wife, Gloria, live in Tamarac and have two daughters, Rhonda and Susan.

James G. Ton has retired as a colonel in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Following his 1981 retirement from the Army, he served as director of the Bureau of Building and Construction for the State of New Jersey. James earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering degree (1952) from MIT. He and his wife, Dorothy, live in Las Vegas, Nevada and have a daughter, Patricia. Allen Vegotsky has retired as scientific program director for the American Cancer

Society in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been active in the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Institute of the History of Pharmacy, the Society for Georgia Architecture and the Greater Atlanta Architecture Society. Allen earned a Master of Science degree (1957) and a Ph.D. degree (1961) from Florida State University. He has published articles about biochemistry, genetics, and pharmaceutical history. At City, he was on the Freshman Advisory Committee, and belonged to the Baskerville Chemistry Society, Sigma Alpha, and to House Plan. He and his wife, Dorothy, live in Atlanta and have a daughter, Sarah.

Orlando Vescio, an aerospace engineer, has retired as a senior engineer for Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, New York. He earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree (1962) at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn. He belongs to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Smithsonian Institute, the National Aeroband Space Society, AARP, and the Disabled American Veterans. At City, he belonged to ASME. Orlando is single and lives in Brooklyn. Martin Vogelfanger has retired as an executive vice president in market research of public opinion. He did graduate work at Columbia University. Martin and his wife, Ruby Koenigsbern, live in Manhattan and have two daughters, Nina and Naomi.

Susan Gordon Wagner has retired as a guidance counselor. She has earned a Master of Science degree in counseling. She and her husband, Leo, live in Suffern, New York and have three children, Merika, David, and Jennifer.

Richard Waldman is first vice president of investments for Smith Barney, Inc. in Aventura, Florida. He is a past president and a founder of the Alumni Association of CCNY’s South Florida Chapter and founder of the Baruch Alumni Association of South Florida. A widower, Richard lives in Miami, Florida and has seven children, Stanley, Bryce, Celeste, Tamara, Lynette, Zachary, and Thomas. Yetta Weissbluth Waldman has retired as executive director of Senior Citizens of Westbury, Inc., a not-for-profit organization in Westbury, New York. She has received the Kiwanis Distinguished Service Award as well as awards from the New York State Conference for the Aging and from Senior Citizens of Westbury. She has served as president of the Long Island Directors Association, as vice president of the New York State Conference for the Aging, as a member of the New York State Assembly’s Advisory Committee on Aging and of the Town of North Hempstead’s Senior Citizens Commission on Aging. She and her husband, Ezra, live in Slingerlands, N.Y. and have two children, Fran and Mitchell.

Gerald Walpin, an attorney, is a senior partner in Rosenman & Colin in Manhattan. He earned his Juris Doctor degree (1955) from Yale Law School. Gerald is president-elect of the Federal Bar Council, past chairman of the Litigation Practice Group of the Federalist Society, a member of the Board of Visitors, director of the Center for Individual Rights, and former chairman and trustee of the Parker Jewish Institute. He has received the Anti-Defamation League Human Relations Award and the American Jewish Committee Judge Learned Hand Human Relations Award. Gerald has published articles in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Law Journal. During his CCNY days, he was president of the Student Council. He and his wife, Sheila, live in Manhattan and have three children, Amanda, Edward, and Jennifer. Stan Warshaw has retired as proprietor and headmaster of the U.S. School of Professional Paperhanging. He and his wife, Leah, live in Fort Myers, Florida and have two children, Charlene and Meryl. Irene Fishman Wasserman has retired as a teacher. At City, she was active in Hillel, House Plan, the Education Society, and on Microcosm. She and her husband, Irwin, live in Bayside, New York and have two daughters, Sharon and Lynn.

Daniel Wein, a contractor, has retired as president and CEO of Charlie Frymyer Paving, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He has published widely in his field. Daniel earned a Master of Arts degree (1956) from Columbia University. He and his wife, Dorothy, live in Plantation, Florida and have two children, Stacy and Jodi.

Robert Weinberger has retired as sales district manager for Almay Cosmetics. He earned a Master of Science degree (1958) from Florida State University. He is single and lives in Houston, Texas.

Harriet Sugarman Weinfeld has retired as a teacher at PS 19, Bronx, and as a benefit authorizer for Social Security Disability in Maryland. She has done graduate work at Manhattan College. Harriet has served as president of the Brandeis University National Woman’s Committee. At City College, she participated in field hockey, in the Dance Club and House Plan. She and her husband, Philip, live in Tamarac, Florida and have two daughters, Elaine and Marcia.

Joan Weinstein has retired as a teacher in Yorktown Heights, New York. She earned a Master of Science in Education at the State University of Connecticut at Danbury. She is active in the Florida division of the Organization of Retired Teachers of New York State. At City, she was a member of the archery team. Joan and her partner, Joseph Rigelhaupt, live in Naples, Florida. She has two children, Marsha and Susan.

Morton Weiser, a writer and public relations practitioner, is president of Mort Weiser & Associates. He has published articles in Family Health, Holiday, McCall’s, Medical Economics, Parents, Signature, Travel Weekly, and Yankee Magazine, among others. Mort received the TWA Award for Best Business/Financial Story on Aviation. He is president of the Katonah Lions Club and a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors. During his CCNY days, he was features editor of The Campus and was our class rep to Student Government. Mort and his wife, Doris, live in Katonah and have two children, Richard and Allison.

George Weiss, a certified public accountant, is manager of a quality control department. He has published professional articles. He and his wife, Shirley, live in Rego Park, New York.

Ronald J. Williams has retired as manufacturing manager and senior vice president of Manufacturing, Management and Engineering. He is active in community associations and in his church. Ron received a Master of Industrial Engineering degree (1958). He and his wife, Edna, live in Severna Park, Maryland and have three children, Wendy, Andrew, and John.

Marvin Wolf is president of the Myles Martin Company in Valley Stream, New York. He earned his law degree (1958) from New York Law School. He and his wife, Judith, live in Port Washington, New York and have two children, Jack and Dawn.

Thelma Feit Wolf has retired as a teacher. She earned a Master of Arts degree (1956) from City. During her student days, she belonged to Sigma Alpha, Kappa Delta Pi, and was a cheerleader. She and her husband, Stanley, live in Riverdale, New York and have two children, Corey and Evan.

Robert G. Wolk, a museum curator and zoologist, has retired as director of programs for the North Carolina State Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has received the Professional Service Award from the North Carolina Museums Council and the Distinguished Service Award from the Southeastern Museums Conference. Robert has written many popular science articles and contributed to scientific journals. He has served as president of the North Carolina Museums Council, on the Board of Directors of the Raleigh City Museum, as vice president of the Wake County Public Library, among other professional and civic posts. He earned a Master of Science degree (1954) and a Ph.D. degree (1959) from Cornell University. At City, he belonged to Alpha Phi Omega. He and his wife, Wilhelmina, live in Raleigh and have five children, Stephanie, David, Jennifer, Nancy, and Jonathan.

Eugene C. Wright has retired as an accountant, IRS tax manager, and personal financial planner for E.C. Wright Associates in Alpharetta, Georgia. He belongs to many professional organizations and acquired a Master of Arts in teaching (1982) from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Eugene received the Albert Gallatin Award. He and his wife, Lula, live in Alpharetta and have three children, Eugene, Jr., Diana, and Kathleen.

Mary and her husband, Edmund, live in Paramus, New Jersey and have two children, Joanne and Wendy. Judith Hermon Young has retired as an elementary school teacher and as an executive

secretary and office manager. She earned a Master of Science degree in Education (1967) from Long Island University and a Master of Education degree (1975) from Teachers College, Columbia University. Judith has been co-president of the Scarsdale/Hartsdale Interfaith Council and director of the Westchester Chapter of the United Nations Association. At City, she was a student council representative, chaired the Student-Faculty Relations Committee, and was a member of Sigma Alpha, of Shoestringers, House Plan, Paris a New York and the Society for the Advancement of Management. Judith and her husband, George, live in Hartsdale and have a daughter, Cheryl.

Robert W. Zadina has retired as an executive with the Transatlantic Council of the Boy Scouts of America in Heidelberg, Germany. He received the Eagle Scouts Outstanding Civilian Service Medal from the Dept. of the Army and the Dept. of the Air Force. He is president-elect of the Lions Club. He is a U.S. Army veteran. At City, he was on the rifle team and the swim team as well as Alpha Phi Omega. Robert and his wife, Vera, live in Lincoln Park, Illinois and have three children, Christopher, Barbara, and Eric.

Toby Haspel Bien has retired from the NYC Board of Education. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Literature (1977) from WestConn and a Certificate in Computer Science (1977) from SUNY Purchase. Toby was an investigator for the NYC Dept. of Welfare, and teacher for the fourth grade through college level for Mahopac School District, Westchester Day School, Westchester Community College, and Berkeley Business School. She was a volunteer for the Women’s American ORT (past President), Central Westchester Co-op Board of Directors (former Secretary) and Our Family Inc. (treasurer)
