“Tell me and I’ll forget. Show me and I may

not remember. Involve me,

and I’ll understand”

Dear Parent,

Welcome to the first newsletter of this session where we aim

to keep you informed about the life and work of the school

in the months of April and May. The first day of school

began on 2nd April, 2018 with the teachers welcoming the

children to the portals of the Primary Wing. Excited children with

scrubbed faces and brand-new backpacks streaming into the

school. Their bright eyes reflecting their feelings of excitement

and anticipation.

Learning is all that counts. There is a whole wealth of knowledge

for students to imbibe. We shall continue to make children learn

through everything they experience during the day and also

through specific activities that we have planned for them.

So, we set the stage for learning by providing an environment

that encourages children to actively explore, play, experiment

and try out their own abilities. The concept of preparing the

environment is very important because young children learn best through their own self-initiated

activities. Looking forward to an exciting and fulfilling year.

When little ones from Preschool leave their familiar surroundings and enter the main school, they are a bit puzzled as well as

excited about the new premises. With longer hours, more formal set up and older children around, the little ones may take a little while to settle down. But soon they become accustomed to the new set up

and begin enjoying school once again. To make the transition phase easy for the children from Preschool to Primary Section,

an Orientation Programme was organised for the parents of class I. Information on various aspects like the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies, assessment criteria and the co-scholastic activities were shared by the coordinators of the primary wing and teachers with the parents. They were also briefed about various sports activities carried out to enhance the physical , social, mental and psychological development of the students. Queries of the parents were answered. The session was followed by taking the parents on a round of the school.

It’s time for the Silver Screen- Movies, Masti, Magic

been an integral part of our school curriculum.

Learning through entertainment enhances

the child’s listening and communication

skills. Keeping this thought in mind, Ice

Age 2 movie was screened for the students

of classes I and II. This movie helped to teach

children about friendship, courage, perseverance, facing fears

and what it takes to be a family. Children also learnt about Mammoth

which was a large mammal resembling an elephant.

Children found this movie hilarious and funny. They loved

the characters of Sid and Granny along with their

mammoth friends.

‘The more that you read, the

more things you will know. The more

that you learn, the more places

you’ll go.’ —Dr. Seuss

World Book Day or International Day of the Book is a yearly event April 23rd,

organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization

To develop the love for books we celebrate World book day by organizing a number of activities in

students with a huge exhibit spanning four floors. The children were spellbound to see an array of

magic tricks like the magic tap which apparently gushed forth water suspended in space without

any inlet and a harp , created music merely by moving one’s hands in the air.

There were several galleries, each one dedicated to a particular theme. There were a number of models related to science and technology. Some of them based on principles and laws of science could be operated by the students which gave them a hands on experience of how things work. The children were thrilled to see different forms of prehistoric life in the Dinosaur Gallery, featuring several life sized and scaled animated robotic models of dinosaurs and other extinct creatures that ruled the earth millions of years ago. This is one of the best ways to arouse curiosity among the young ones.

It was a great learning experience for the students .

Books are a mirror of one’s soul which enrich the mind and soothe the heart.

Our school organized a one day ‘Book Fair’ on 5th May, 2018.

The fair was inaugurated by the school principal, Dr.Rekha

Bhushan, who wished to inculcate reading habit among

students by reading an enriched collection of books on

English literature.

read and access more informative books.

“A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.”

Creativity is an inborn talent, which can be nourished and cherished. Children learn to think and act

as artists, makers and designers, working

creatively and intelligently. They develop

an appreciation of and engagement in

art and craft that shape and enrich their

lives. To enrich their lives furthermore,

art and craft activities like straw painting,

thumb and leaf painting and pot

painting were organised for the students

of classes I to V, on 14th May,2018, where they

designed, folded, coloured and printed their

ideas and imaginations into lovely pieces of art.

Marvellous Me To overcome the fear and anxiety and to evoke the

confidence to speak in public was the

main objective of the activity,

’Marvelious Me’, which was

conducted for classes I and II.

Children of class I spoke about themselves whereas

children of class II portrayed themselves as different

characters like Peter Pan, Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and

many more.

The Famous Me…... In the early years of a child, oratory skills or public speaking helps students to open up and come

out of their cocoon. This skill gives them an opportunity to be heard and makes them more

comfortable around other people. To enhance this skill further, an activity ‘Famous Me’ was

organized, where students of classes III to V spoke on their favourite sports personality, authors and

famous Indian scientists. The students participated in the activity with

great zeal and spoke with credence and poise.

Reading together is an activity where for fifteen minutes just after the lunch

break every day, all the school activities in the school campus comes to

a halt as everybody is absorbed in silent reading. This is

done to inculcate a reading culture not only among the

students but also among teaching and non-teaching

fraternity.
