HEAD POINTS TO DETERMINE PRIORITY UNDER ENERGY MERIDIANS You can discover which specific meridian(s) are a priority to balance. These are located at articulations of the cranial bones and are pictured on the next page. There are 5 points which correspond to each of the Five Elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Each Element has a yin and a yang meridian associated, except for Fire which has two yin and two yang meridians, and 2 points for the midline meridians, Central and Governing.

Wood At the Glabella on the midline of the Frontal bone between the eye brows

Fire Where the Right Sphenoid & Frontal bones connect at the right temple

Earth Where the Right Parietal, Occipital & Temporal bones connect behind the right ear

Metal Where the Left Parietal, Occipital & Temporal bones connect behind the left ear

Water Where the Left Sphenoid & Frontal bones connect at the left temple

Central Anterior Fontanel: Where the Parietal & Frontal bones connect

Governing Posterior Fontanel: Where the Parietal & Occiput bones connect

Five Element Theory Chinese Medicine recognizes that the meridians can be grouped into five aspects or phases of energy, which are also the cycles of life. These aspects are named after elements that exist in nature, which depict these aspects. Energy flows in a cycle just like the seasons of the year.

• Wood is the rising up phase of energy related to Spring and birth.

Liver (yin) - Gall Bladder (yang)

• Fire is the most intense phase related to Summer and adolescence.

Heart & Circulation Sex (yin)

Small Intestine & Triple Warmer (yang)

• Earth is the mature phase related to early Fall and adulthood.

Spleen (yin) - Stomach (yang)

• Metal is the decaying phase related to late Fall and the senior years.

Lung (yin) - Large Intestine (yang)

• Water is the inward stage of energy related to Winter and death.

Kidney (yin) - Bladder (yang)

To Determine Which are the Priority Under Energy Meridians Needing Balancing • With the pads of three fingers touch each of the priority head points pictured on the next page and test an

indicator muscle to see if any weaken. As soon as you find one that tests weak, go to the below step. Eventually, you will check all seven of these head points and balance any that are out. It doesn’t matter where you start, but wood is good since it is in front.

• While you hold a point which went weak, retest while stating each meridian related to that point. When you name the meridian that needs balancing, the muscle will test strong. It is like the body saying, “If you balance this meridian, I will be strong.” Occasionally, both meridians of an element will test strong, indicating they both need balancing. If so, do the yin meridian first, pictured above on the inside.

Once you determine an under energy meridian by checking the head points, do the following:

Test muscles related to the meridian (listed on the next page) to find out which are weak.

Retest the weak muscle after checking each of the finder modes to see which strengthen.

• Thumb touching the index finger is Structural

• Thumb touching the middle finger is Nutritional

• Thumb touching the ring finger is Emotional

• Thumb touching the index finger is Electrical

If nutrition is needed, retest the weak muscle without touching the mode stating: “Diet deletion,” test. “Diet addition,” test. ”Supplement addition,” test. “Supplement deletion,” test.

• If diet deletion or supplement deletion comes up, check foods or supplements they’re eating by stating each saying: “Delete (the food)" to see if it tests strong, confirming their body is asking to delete it.

• If diet addition or supplement addition tests strong, look at the supplements and foods for that muscle and test after stating each to see what tests strong. Refer to the TFH chart, folio or pages 4 and 5.

• After finding the nutrition needed, balance the muscle with any other techniques that the finger modes showed, such as Neurolymphatic for Structural, Emotional Stress Release for Emotional, Meridian Trace and Neurovascular Holding Points for Electrical.

Once the muscle is balanced, check the head point that tested weak to see that it now tests strong. Check the other head points and balance any if needed.

Clinical Uses of Nutrient: Anemia

Other Considerations: Folic acid is not plentiful in human diets and is one of the most common deficiencies we see. Pregnant women and those suffering with injuries or illness are generally in need of Folic Acid.

Test: Put the right hand on the left side of the body and the left hand on top of it, then test a strong leg muscle. It also works if you do the opposite on the right side of the body.

If it tests weak, it is an indication of folic acid deficiency.

TEST POINT FOR HERBS If nutrition is indicated for a weak muscle, see if herbs are needed for balancing by having the person touch CV2 on the synthesis pubis to see if it strengthens the weak muscle.

ALFALFA Alfalfa is known as the king of herbs. It’s rich in vitamins and is the richest land source of trace minerals.

It has a strong alkaline effect on the body and contains A, C, D, E, K, plus the full family of B vitamins; biotin, folic acid, iron, along with calcium, magnesium, potassium and zinc.

Alfalfa can be taken in the form of seeds, leaves, sprouts or tablets.

Alfalfa is good for:

• Relieving kidney problems, including dissolving kidney stones

• Resolving fluid retention and swelling as a diuretic

• Helping auto-immune disorders and arthritis

• Nourishing the digestive, skeletal, glandular and urinary systems

• Cleansing the blood, liver and bowel of toxins

• Lowering cholesterol levels

• Preventing strokes

Alfalfa supports healthy blood sugar levels, especially when taken with manganese and is therefore considered very helpful for diabetes.

It promotes bowel movement regularity and healthy hydration.

Alfalfa contains high levels of enzymes for digestion and assimilation of food and it eases digestive problems.

The juice of alfalfa, taken daily in combination with equal amounts of carrot and lettuce juice, assists in the growth of hair and the prevention of hair loss.

Precautions:

Excessive consumption of alfalfa seeds or sprouts may cause the breakdown of red blood cells, which can aggravate the disease lupus. So take it in moderation in those cases.

It is recommended that alfalfa be avoided during pregnancy.

Ways to take it:

Drink it in a brewed tea daily. Because of its bland taste, you may want to brew it with another flavored tea, such as peppermint.

It can be taken in capsule form. Dried alfalfa is as good, if not better than fresh alfalfa since the protein levels are higher.

Alfalfa can also be mixed in with different foods, such as salads, soups and casseroles.

Alfalfa sprouts are excellent to add to a salad or sandwich.

TAURINE Taurine is a very essential amino acid that helps regulate the brain and is good for helping epileptic seizures. It is a major constituent of bile and can be found in the large intestine.

Taurine is one of the few amino acids not incorporated into proteins. However, it is one of the most abundant amino acids in the brain, retina, muscle tissue and organs throughout the body.

Taurine has many fundamental biological roles, such as conjugation of bile acids, anti-oxidation, osmoregulation, membrane stabilization, and modulation of calcium signaling.

It is essential for cardiovascular function, the development and function of skeletal muscle, the retina, and the central nervous system. It is not found in plant food but can be synthesized from Cysteine.

Taurine is good for:

Taurine is Test Point St 1 - just under the eye on the top of the maxilla

How to take Taurine:

• Dosages between 500 mg - 2,000 mg have shown efficacy, although the upper limit for toxicity is placed at a much greater level and high doses are well-tolerated.

• The upper limit for which one can be relatively assured no side effects will occur over a lifetime has been suggested to be 3g a day.

Precautions:

• Taurine might have an effect like a water pill or “diuretic.”

• Lithium interacts with Taurine.

• Taking taurine might decrease how well the body gets rid of lithium.

• This could increase how much lithium is in the body and result in serious side effects.
