A plaque donated by Food Basics will be awarded to the exhibitor with the most points in the Flowers & Vegetables section at the Awards Banquet to be kept by the exhibitor for 1 year. HOW TO PREPARE VEGETABLES FOR EXHIBITIONChoose medium sized, regular shaped specimens, of nearly the same size and shape as possible. Cut tops off, leaving one inch. Choose specimens that are free from blemishes of any kind. Polish with a dry cloth. Potatoes should be washed (polish with a dry cloth). Vegetables should be shown on small foam plates or in a shallow container. All exhibits must be grown or taken care of by exhibitor.

HOW TO PREPARE FLOWERS FOR EXHIBITIONCut stems 6” long if possible. Show in a narrow mouth container (i.e. small bottle, etc.) Add weight to the bottom of container (i.e. marbles, stones, etc.) Choose specimens free from blemishes of any kind. Choose open blooms. All exhibits must be grown and taken care of by exhibitors. CHECK FOR MAX HEIGHT AND OR SIZE!!!Note: Sunflowers can be used with cut flowers and not with wildflowers.
