REMOVE EXCESS MORTAR FROM EDGE WHEN MORTAR IS THUMBPRINT HARD, TOOL JOINT TO MATCH PROFILE SPECIFIED. REMOVE EXCESS MORTAR FROM EDGE OF JOINT WITH A BRISTLE BRUSH. F. CURE MORTAR BY MAINTAINING IN A DAMP CONDITION FOR NOT LESS THE 72 HOURS. CURE MORTAR BY MAINTAINING IN A DAMP CONDITION FOR NOT LESS THE 72 HOURS. G. PROVIDE MATERIAL SAMPLES FOR ARCHITECT'S REVIEW AND APPROVAL PRIOR TO REPOINTING GENERAL EXTERIOR MASONRY NOTES: 1. ALL DIMENSIONS ON DRAWINGS SHALL BE VERIFIED BY THE CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO THE EXECUTION OF THE WORK. ALL EXTERIOR REMOVALS ARE TO BE COORDINATED WITH INSTALLATION OF NEW WORK TO MINIMIZE EXTERIOR REMOVALS ARE TO BE COORDINATED WITH INSTALLATION OF NEW WORK TO MINIMIZE EXPOSURE OF BUILDING FABRIC AND INTERIOR TO THE WEATHER. 3. DURING THE COURSE OF CONTRACTOR SHALL UNDERTAKE ONLY THE MASONRY REPAIRS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS. DURING THE COURSE OF THE WORK THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IDENTIFY OTHER FLAWS, SIGNS OF DETERIORATION AND PROBLEMS AND REPORT THEM TO THE ARCHITECT, BUT SHALL NOT PROCEED WITH ANY WORK PERTAINING TO THE CONDITIONS IDENTIFIED WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL FROM THE OWNER AND ARCHITECT. 6. COMPLETELY REMOVE VISIBLE PLANTS, MOSS AND SHRUB GROWTH FROM STONE AND BRICK SURFACE. CAREFULLY COMPLETELY REMOVE VISIBLE PLANTS, MOSS AND SHRUB GROWTH FROM STONE AND BRICK SURFACE. CAREFULLY REMOVE PLANTS, CREEPERS, VEGETATION BY CUTTING AT ROOTS AND ALLOWING TO DRY AS LONG AS POSSIBLE BEFORE REMOVAL. REMOVE LOOSE SOIL OR DEBRIS FORM OPEN JOINTS. REPOINT. LOOSE SOIL OR DEBRIS FORM OPEN JOINTS. REPOINT. 7. REMOVE SILICONE SEALANT COMPLETELY FROM MORTAR JOINTS AND BRICK UNITS. REMOVE DAMAGED MORTAR AND REMOVE SILICONE SEALANT COMPLETELY FROM MORTAR JOINTS AND BRICK UNITS. REMOVE DAMAGED MORTAR AND REPOINT W/ NEW POINTING MORTAR. COLOR TO BE SELECTED BY ARCHITECT, TO MATCH EXISTING. REFER TO POINTING NOTES ON THIS SHEET. REPLACE CRACKED OR BROKEN BRICK UNITS.
