TED TALKS COMES TO CENTURY HOUSECome to Century House and watch two Ted Talks: 1. Is War Between China and the US Inevitable? Taking les-sons from a historical pattern called “Thucydides’ Trap,” political scientist Graham Allison shows why a rising China and a dominant United States could be headed towards a violent collision no one wants -- and how we can summon the common sense and courage to avoid it. 2. Are China and the US Doomed to Conflict? The former prime min-ister of Australia, Kevin Rudd is also a longtime student of China, with a unique vantage point to watch its power rise in the past few decades. He asks whether the growing ambition of China will inevitably lead to conflict with other major powers -- and suggests another narrative. Stay for a facilitated discussion afterwards.
