Obituary
John 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son,that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Don’t you think the time is right?
May I say goodbye to pain-filled days and endless lonely nights?
I’ve lived my life and tried my best, an example I tried to be.
Can I take the step beyond and set my spirit free?
I didn’t want to go at first, I fought with all my might!
But something seems to draw me now to a warm and loving light.
I want to go! I really do! It’s difficult to stay.
But I will try as best as I can to live just one more day,
To give you time to let me go and share your love and fears.
I know you are sad and afraid because I see the tears.
I’ll not be far, I promise that, and hope you’ll always know
That my spirit will be close to you wherever you may go.
Thank you for loving me. You know I loved you too.
That’s why it’s so hard to say goodbye and end this life with you.
So hold me now, just one more time, and let me hear you say
Because you care so much for me, you’ll let me go today.
May I Go?

clarence H. JoHnson1919-2012
Clarence H. Johnson was born November 5, 1919 in Mason, Tennessee to the late Lucious and Mary Lemon. He was the youngest of ten children born to this union; seven sisters and two brothers have preceded him in death.
Clarence confessed his hope in Christ in 1936 and was baptized under the pastorship of the late Rev. J. E. Milton of the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church of Mason, Tennessee.
Clarence moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1940 and was employed by the Kuttler Drug Store until 1942. He served in the United States Army in the 3431st Quartermaster Truck Company from 1942 until 1945. He drove heavy duty trucks carrying supplies day and night over all types of terrain under combat conditions. He served in such places as England, Ireland, Italy and Africa. He received an Honorable Discharged in 1945 and was awarded three Bronze Stars for his service; following his return home he began working for The Fisher Body Company until his retirement.
In 1946 Clarence married Miss Lavern Jackson and the couple was blessed with four sons: Michael (deceased), Earnest, Melvin and Craig. In later years he married Miss Rozonia Green and to this union one daughter, Quanakee, was born.
Clarence joined the New Bethlehem Baptist Church in 1958 under Pastor C. J. Thompson; he served on the Mass Choir, Male Chorus, and Senior Usher Board. He remained a faithful member until his health began to fail.
Clarence H. Johnson passed away on March 6, 2012, he leaves to cherish his memory daughter Quanakee; sons Earnest (Marcy), Melvin and Craig (Annette); seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
