SEASON OF LENT

Please pray for our youth program to continue moving forward in all aspects - growing in God’s Will. Pray for those worldwide who are being persecuted because of their Christian faith. Pray that within our congregation we will make connections and grow stronger together as God’s family. May we know that God gives us time of unrest to grow closer to Him and to remember to lean on Him.

The UnRetreat

Join us Saturday, April 18 (8:30am-6:00pm) for the unRetreat! A fun and interactive day with your Clairmont family, right here at Clairmont Presbyterian Church.

So why should you come?

First, we are going to jump into the New Testament with Walk Thru the Bible. You’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of the Bible and the tools you need to tell others about the New Testament. Second, we’re providing breakfast, lunch and dinner. So you don’t have to worry about a whole day’s worth of meals (you’re welcome!). And did we mention that dinner will be provided by the food truck Perhaps a Wrap? Third, we’re hosting a family-friendly service project. You can make a difference while serving alongside your Clairmont family. Fourth, it’s incredibly affordable. Just $25 per person, or a maximum of $60 for a family, which includes your meals, the Walk Thru the Bible materials and everything else you’ll need for the day.

Childcare is available for kids birth-kindergarten (1st grade and up are invited and encouraged to attend Walk Thru the Bible, which is designed to be engaging for all ages). And don’t worry, your kids will join you for meals and the service project. As if this weren’t enough, we’re hosting a fellowship pre-party on Friday night, April 17, from 7-9:30pm with a family movie night on the Azalea Village Lawn or games in Milligan Hall! Finally, since no weekend is complete without worship, don’t forget to join us Sunday morning at 10:30! So what are you waiting for? Online registrationis open now - www.clairmontpres.org!Questions? Contact Kimmy Stokesbary at [email protected]

I Atlanta - March 14-15 - We’re planning a mission-focused, overnight youth event for this weekend, complete with guest speakers and live worship! We will also hear from Terence Lester of Love Beyond Walls. This will be an experiment in homelessness, including a 24-hour fast and sleeping outside for the night. We’ll also be participating in the Atlanta Hunger Walk on Sunday morning. We need at least 4 male adults to volunteer to stay up overnight to help keep this event safe. Contact Jeremy Hall at [email protected].

What is the Faulkner Fund?

Sometimes you see a memorial gift to the CPC Faulkner Fund. This fund began with a large gift from Elder Ken and Mary Faulkner, who saw a need for major expenses not covered in our church budget such as breakdowns in the air conditioning, maintain-ing the building, or repairing an unexpected roof leak. This fund has been greatly used and needs to be replenished from time to time or it will vanish. When giving a memorial gift to the church, please consider marking it for the Faulkner Fund. The need is there.

Habitat for Humanity & Clairmont

Even though the temperature was below freezing on February 14, 2015, five members, Matt Kennedy, Karen Kennedy, Ray Davis, Nick Johnson, and John Williams were ready to begin at 8:00am. We were divided into groups of ten, for assignments to six homes under construction. Matt Kennedy helped install kitchen cabinets. Karen Kennedy painted and

touched up the paint on doors. Ray Davis installed window sills inside one house. Nick Johnson painted the concrete block foundation on one house. John Williams installed pre-hung interior doors in one house. Break time was the best part of the day. Thank you to Matt, Karen, Ray, Nick, and John for participating in the Habitat for Humanity local outreach for Clairmont. There were 175 people to help build six houses. Clark Howard welcomed everyone and introduced the future homeowners who worked alongside the volunteers on their future home.
