Possible concerns
1. These Collections seem more expensive than other ebook packages available (eg Springer, Wiley etc)
The price of CL e Text collections reflects the specific nature of the content – adoptable textbooks used by tens of students in each class. They are not quite comparable to reference or monograph ebook packages, where traditionally only the library would buy a print copy
2. My library does not have these texts in the short loan collections
In this first pilot phase, we have tried to offer different models to suit different libraries’ needs: a core collection of best sellers, 2 pick and mix options and some subject packages. If successful, we plan to increase the range of titles offered and introduce other models. It’s also worth noting that Cengage Learning textbooks may well offer a suitable alternative to other titles in your short loan collection.

Possible concerns
3. Why are new editions not included?
Based on feed back received from libraries at concept stage, we have settled on a perpetual access model which mirrors how libraries purchase and use print textbooks. We are also looking into the technicalities of offering updates through different business models (eg subscription) at a later stage.
