To: [email protected] Subject: What a wonderful station!!!!

~y friend and I made the foolish mistake of traveling west from Mobile, Ai Friday night and Saturday. We were stuck in Houston on 1-10 West for 7 hours before being able to turn around and head back home.

We stopped on your station while scanning through trying to find current traffic/weather information. You're guys were incredible!!! We tuned in at around 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning and continued listening throughout the day. They stayed on the air giving up-to-date traffic and weather info, keeping citizens and stupid travelers like us apprized of the situation. We had called the Louisiana and Texas State Troopers offices before leaving home and they said all was clear and come on . . . . Boy, were they wrong. If we had tuned in to your station earlier, we probably would not have made the trip on in to Houston.

I just wanted to take the time to say thank you and job well done.

I never dreamed you WOL send a tape of “The - --mo” by Marty Robbins to me. I have been looking for this tape for two years - - asking at music stores, etc. Thank you SO much for going the extra mile and sending a copy of the song to me. I played it for my social studies classes and also told them to listen on March 6& to hear it played on KILT. They thought the song was really neat after learning the stones about the Texas Revolution and the brave people involved. Thank you for being such a patriotic station! ! And thank you again for the tape !!!

Sincerely,

I wanted to express my thanks to KHJZ for carrying the memorial service to the Columbia Astronauts live in it's entirity today. I had to pick up my son at IAH just after 1:OO pm and was not able to watch the service on television. Because of your coverage, I was able to listen to the service during my drive to the airport. I really enjoy your programing. Keep u p the good work.

Dear Bill and Marc,

How can we begin to thank you for the great promotional interview that you gave the hex ican Cancer Society on Wednesday morning? We are SO grateful for the opportunity to tell your listeners about our Relay For Life events as well as the Jamba Juice Fundraiser.

Response to Jamba Juice’s Free Smoothie Celebration was up considerably fiom last year, and we have you to thank for helping make that possible. The verdict is still out on Relay - but we’re anticipating some great events.

Bill, thank you for arranging the interview and working our issue into the program l i e up. And Marc. . . your interview with Cathy was absolutely the greatest. You showed a true spirit of community and a concern for cancer issues ON TOP of promoting our events. We especially appreciate your emphasis on Cathy’s commitment as a volunteer. Our volunteers ARE our organization.

We’d like to invite you to come join us at any of the Relays. You report so well and SO

thoroughly on athletes and sports enthusiasts -- but cheering on a group of cancer survivors on in their victory lap at an American Cancer Society Relay For Life adds a new and very emotional dimension to victory.

Again, we thank you for your support.

Hey guys! Thanks to my husband, I am a huge fan of the morning show and look forward to all the Texan's news and updates, especially the Monday and Friday phone call from David Carr. I was touched tc! hear at the very end Carr's campaign to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer research. I think I speak for all the female listeners when I say how wonderful it is to know that a sports radio station, typically geared towards male listeners, is supporting something that effects so many people in various ways, male or female.

I was wondering if it would be possible to mention sometime during the show that September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. This silent killer takes the lives of 14, 000 women, including the life my mother. Since it is known as the "silent killer" symptoms usually become unnoticed until the late stages. Ovarian Cancer does not get the same exposure for awarenes as other cancers and every little bit helps. I will understand if such an announcement cannot be made due to any type of restrictions you have on these types of issues, and I very much appreciate your attention and your campaign for Breast Cancer awareness.

Thanks so much! -Misty Nelson Houston, Tx

Dear Lauren,

I’ve finally received all the thank-you letters &om the boys, enclosed herewith. I knew that in some instances it would be like extracting teeth! Please be assured that their lack of enthusiasm for writing thank-you letters in no way is indicative of their enthusiasm for the tour--they loved it!! I know several have become KILT listeners and are Secret Sound fans, with visions of the big $$ dancing in their heads. With the prize now at $20,000.00, I’m a pretty good listener myself!

I’ve also enclosed a copy of the Howl articles written by two of the boys and for which they won their Junior Journalist badges. There are on the same page excerpts from some of the other boys’ articles. I have blacked out the photos; Pack 55 policy does not permit dissemination of the boys’ photos.

Again, my sincere thanks for giving us a great tour of Infinity Broadcasting and helping the boys on their way to their Webelos badges and, in time, their Boy Scout ranks.

Yours,

Rob Smith

Dear Ms. Lauren Wilson,

Thank you for giving my den, the Cavaliers, and me that magnificent tour of the radio stations. I enjoyed listening to the mystery sound. It was so cool when that person said something into the microphone that was played backwards and really fast. Visiting and getting to hear all the people talk about their jobs was great. I know I enjoyed myself and I know my den did too.

Sincerely,

Can Cody u

Dear Ms. Wilson.

Thank you for taking our Den 13 on a tour of the radio stations. I had a very fun time and leamed a lot about communication. I never knew that there was so much activity in the four stations. I really liked the tour behind the scenes at Infinity Broadcasting. This tour helped us get our Communicator Pin.

Sincerely,

Daniel Flowers, I11 8

Dear Ms. Wilson:

Thank you for the tour of the radio station. The part I liked best was when somebody played the secret sound. I also liked watching the girl DJ work while we were in the broadcast room.
