February 22-28 is Engineering
Week and there are many opportu-
nities to celebrate our contribution
to society. Municipal leaders within
Sarasota and Manatee counties will
present proclamations to Engineers
in the coming weeks. Please make
plans to attend as many as you can
to display your affection for the
profession. Other activities planned
are the LeBarge Cruise, Toothpick
Bridge competition, and Skyway
Bridge tour. Please see the an-
nouncement section for details.
The LeBarge Cruise has been a
successful program for some time
now and we will continue to make
it so. There are sponsorship oppor-
tunities available for companies.

in the newsletter.
December was the deadline for
ASCE membership renewal.
Please make it a point to renew
your membership to continue re-
ceiving all the wonderful bene-
fits ASCE membership provides.
The association is currently ac-
cepting nominations for our an-
nual branch awards. We all wit-
ness great projects and col-
leagues doing excellent jobs, for
which we verbally express our
admiration and support. Please
channel your support by com-
pleting an award nomination
form.

February Luncheon Meeting Details
Kyle Fisher, PHD, PE
Topic: Water Infrastructure - Ari Palca, Bolivia While attending UF, Kyle had the honor of being an adviser to EWB student team. The Kyle and the team traveled to the rural Bolivian village of Ari Palca where they conducted a water audit and site in-vestigation. The following year the students implemented a construction project to improve the vil-lage's irrigation supply. The team has a five year commitment to Ari Palca and will continue to imple-ment new infrastructure projects.

Civil Project Engineer/Community Development
An opportunity exists in Sarasota, Florida for an experienced Civil Engineer/Project Engineer to work in the area of general civil/site
engineering and development. Projects will include a mix of public/municipal and private developments. The successful candidate will
be self-motivated with good communication skills, able to work within a team with other professionals to accomplish the client's goals.
A solid technical base combined with a track record in local and state permitting, roadway engineering, stormwater modeling, grading
and drainage,hydraulics and hydrology. This career opportunity is with a well-established Civil Engineering firm with multiple office
locations in Florida. This is a FAST track opportunity to Project Management within this firm.
Specific duties will include:
Perform all aspects of civil engineering design including layout/geometry, grading, drainage, paving, water, sewer and erosion
control. Projects may include roadway design, hydrology/hydraulic stormwater modeling, hydraulic modeling of pipe networks, prepa-
ration of construction plans and related design reports, including producing technical specifications, cost estimates and related con-
tract documents.
Prepare permitting related applications and perform agency follow-up/coordination during the review approval process.
Perform construction inspections on as needed basis, and provide construction phase support to owner/client.
Utilities adjustment/relocation design and coordination.
Assist Project Manager and/or Project Principal with various aspects of project coordination. Perform planning phase activities, including project research, assessment of project feasibility, and provide input to project team on civil engineering related issues. Your Capabilities and Credentials:
BS Civil Engineering from an accredited college
PE license preferred willing accept EI ready to take the exam
Minimum 5 years of experience including general civil engineering and development projects.
Roadway design
