Analysis of Results: All student met or exceeded the benchmark on both formative assessments. On one of the formative assessment the bench mark was exceeded by 10 points and the summative assessment was exceeded by at least 15 points.

Strength in student performances: Students are able to calculate the hydrostatic pressures on submerged structures.

Weaknesses in student performances: In the formative stage, some students needed help with the concept of hydrostatic pressure at different angles, but with tutoring students got better grades in the summative assessment.

Recommended Action(s): The faculty will review atmospheric pressure, the concepts of hydrostatic pressure and the relationship between gage and absolute pressures prior to the test.

Analysis of Results: On the formative assessment, HWl, all student exceeded the benchmark by 10 points. The summative assessment all the students exceeded the benchmark by at least 22 points or more.

Strength in student performances: The students demonstrated consistent ability to calculate the overburden pressures in soils on the summative assessment.

Weaknesses in student performances: In the formative stage, some students needed help w/ the various types of earth pressure. Tutoring was provided to the students which resulted in better grades in the summative stage.

Recommended Action(s): The instructor will continue tutoring the students during and after the formative assessments and implement more example calculations.

Program Student Learning Outcome: #4 - CET graduates will determine the different parameters

needed for design.

Course Student Learning Outcome: #2 - Students will determine the effective overburden pressure

in soils.

Analysis of Results: On the formative assessment, HWI, all student exceeded the benchmark by 10 points. The summative assessment all the students exceeded the benchmark by at least 22 points or more.

Strength in student performances: The students demonstrated consistent ability to calculate the overburden pressures in soils on the summative assessment.

Weaknesses in student performances: In the formative stage, some students needed help w/ the various types of earth pressure. Tutoring was provided to the students which resulted in better grades in the summative stage.

( Recommended Action{s): The instructor will continue tutoring the students during and after the formative assessments and implement more example calculations.
