Civil Engineer – Summer Intern Position WBK Engineering, LLC (WBK) is currently seeking a motivated individual to work out of our St. Charles, IL office. WBK is a full-service civil engineering consulting firm specializing in transportation, structural, municipal, construction, environmental and storm water engineering, as well as urban planning, which is positioned for growth. Our staff includes over 40 engineers, scientists and support professionals. WBK has offices in Aurora and St. Charles, Illinois, and in Battle Creek, Michigan. WBK seeks out experienced and responsive individuals for a 2018 summer civil engineer internship who are committed to personal service and professional growth. Our Civil Engineer Summer Intern may perform a variety of duties for both public and private clients. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: perform construction observation tasks in support of resident engineer perform construction documentation tasks in support of resident engineer perform or assist with design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment review design options and documents findings for supervisor produce plans, specifications, and reports as needed on assigned tasks to see that these items are complete, accurate and in accordance with good engineering practice. perform field visit(s) to understand site constraints and learn the necessary information obtained from site visit assist superiors by performing the routine aspects of engineering assignments, subsequently gaining familiarity with the programs, staff and operating procedures of the company provide documentation and technical writing in support of supervisor perform or assist with survey tasks as directed by survey crew leader responsible for task schedules and timely completion of assigned tasks During the term of this seasonal employment it will be the responsibility of the applicant to provide for housing and transportation to either the St. Charles, IL or Aurora, IL office. Education Requirements Candidate must be working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
