Emerging with word search to identify key vocabulary Using matching for the multiple choice and blank with word bank worksheet. Using paragraph form to identify (was vague) Also could use a few more objectives and break it down into individual lessons. Pennsylvania State Academic Standards: 5.3.6. E describe the voting process, including registration, primaries, and general elections, 5.1.6. A explain the effect of the rule of law in protecting property rights, individual rights, and common good. 5.1.6.D, explain the basic principles and ideals within documents and the roles played by the framers as found in significant documents: 5.2.6.D explain why participation in government and civic life is important Material and/or Equipment: P.P, Notebook/Paper, President/Voting exercise Modifications for Individual Differences: For students that have difficulty hearing and seeing, I will move them to the front of the class. Activities and Procedures: Have 4 students conduct a debate on an issue. After, finishing the debates the rest of the class will vote. Lesson Sequence: 1) Write objectives/ Assignment on board - Then ask students about how familiar they are with Presidential elections 2) Brief overview on Presidential elections - Go over key vocab/concepts associated with elections 3) Elect 4 students for debates 4) Have students vote Closure:
