FEDERAL TAXES: Governments pay for these services through revenue obtained by taxing three economic bases: income, consumption and wealth. The Federal Government taxes income as its main source of revenue. State governments use taxes on income and consumption, while local governments rely almost entirely on taxing property and wealth. A percent of the federal government taxes goes into heath care, jobs and family's security, education and job training is just small portion of the stuff the government spends there money on. One big one is that the federal taxes are going to national defense/ military. National defense wouldn't be around if there was no taxes that's why we have taxes to help pay for those things.

The president does not have the authority alone to raise taxes, lower taxes, or change much in that regard. Article 1, Section VIII of the Constitution specifically gives Congress the power to levy taxes. Similarly, they also have the power to set the federal budget. The only direct action the president has on the budget is to sign or veto it, which itself is a limited power. However, the president is usually the leader of his party, which (in his first term atleast) usually controls Congress as well. Thus, he has a great deal of power in changing the budget and tax codes. He can also make small changes by executive orders issued to federal agencies under the bureaucracy, such as the IRS or Customs. The president can still be overridden in any regulations he has changed by an act of Congress.Practically speaking, they can do it with some reliability, but that can be harder to justify when the government is running a defecit. Yet the US has always found a way to pay, so that is not always true.____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

State taxes:

In addition to the sales tax, there are other taxes which may be applied in certain situations, such as the "tourist development tax" of 13% on any rentals of real estate, although residential rentals which are longer than six months are considered to be exempt. Over $1B per year is collected by taxing short-term rentals, which is the only such sales tax in the United States. Sales tax on the purchase of boats is also capped at $18,000, in an attempt to encourage residents to register their boats in Florida instead of offshore.

Florida is one of the few states with no income tax, that means that the state does not take any money out of your paycheck (do not worry the federal government does). If that is the case according to this graphic and information how does Florida get most of its income through taxes?________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

This is to save cost and it now cost more to process the items to recycle then they are worth to sell (it is costing the city money not making it money). What do you think about that and how does it relate to this information? ____________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________________
