    LEAF PICK-UP PROGRAMThe City of Turlock Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities Department will be running the annual Leaf Pickup Program November 2, 2015 February 5, 2016. Turlock residents are encouraged to use their green waste containers for leaves and garden refuse. Any leaves that will not fit into the green container may be placed in the street 18 from the curb in loose piles, not bagged. Do not place limbs in leaf piles. . Do not park vehicles in front of your residence in locations which will prevent access to leaf collection the day prior to your scheduled day, on the scheduled day and the day after your scheduled day. If you have any questions please call 668-5594 or visit www.cityofturlock.org/leafpickup (after November 1).

    RECREATION SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLEYouth & Senior Recreation Scholarships are available through the Recreation Office for participation in City of Turlock Recreation Activities. Participants must be 18 years of age or under or 62 years of age and above, and have a Turlock address. Once approved, applicants may receive up to $125 for the fiscal year. For more information contact the Recreation Office.

    Donations are being accepted for additional scholarships and/or program sponsorships. Please contact the Park, Recreation and Public Facilities Office for more information.

    TURLOCK RECREATION is raising funds for youth scholarships through the SHARES Card. A percent of every grocery dollar will support youth in Turlock and help them participate in safe and positive activities. To receive a free card or more information contact Turlock Recreation at 668-5594.Its easy and all you have to do is provide the card when you shop!

    Bounce House Permits Once you have rented a park space and contracted with an approved Bounce House company, you must purchase a $35 Bounce House Permit through the Recreation Office. For more information contact the Recreation Office.

    KIDZ LOVE SOCCER ....................................Learn the worlds most popular sport from professional coaches licensed in the Kidz Love Soccer method. A session experience includes age appropriate activities, skill demonstrations, fun games and instructional scrimmages.     What do we do with the kids after school? In the PLAY (Positive Leisure Activities for Youth) program, children will have time to complete homework daily, participate in a variety of fun activities and most importantly have a safe place to go after school. For detailed information about each site, please visit each specific school site flyer on the City of Turlock website.

    Friday, August 7th was the last day to register in order for child to start the program during the first week of school, regardless of grade. Children registered after this date, will not be allowed to participate until the week of August 17th. For program policies please review the PLAY Registration Form.

    A.S.E.S. AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMThis program is designed to help students with homework, teach life-skills and promote healthy lifestyles through structured recreational activities. A.S.E.S. is for 1st - 8th grade students who attend Brown, Crowell, Cunningham, Osborn, Turlock Jr. High and Wakefield Schools. The program meets Monday - Friday from the time school lets out until 6:00pm. Please contact the Recreation Office to see if your desired school still has openings. Please note there are attendance requirements for this program.

    MARTY YERBY CENTERSponsored by the Housing Authority of Stanislaus County, this program helps foster human development by providing life- long learning for youth ages 5 - 18 years who live in and around the HUD homes. The program provides recreation, arts & crafts, homework assistance and much more!

    Cheernastics- Jump, tumble, dance, and cheer with us in this fun, high energy class! Cheerleading, tumbling, and dance basics will be taught to fun age appropriate music. In this course, boys and girls 11 - 15 years, will become knowledgeable of the duties and responsibilities of babysitting.     TEEN ADVISORY COUNCIL ............................The Teen Advisory Council (TAC) wants to stress the importance of getting involved! TAC encourages teens to enrich their lives by volunteering their time. Volunteering is a great way to make new friends, give back to your community and help others.

    TAC is a diverse group of young people 7th 12th grade, who are working together to make a difference in the community. Meetings are held the 4th Monday of every month, 6:00 7:00pm. Throughout the year, the Teen Advisory Council works diligently on planning, organizing and implementing activities in the Turlock Community.

    Applications will be available at the Recreation Office June 1st August 14th.

    WHAT IS P.A.L.?Turlock Police Activities League (P.A.L.) is a non-profit (501c3) organization that relies on education, athletics and recreational activities that are designed to cultivate youth into responsible and mature citizens. Turlock P.A.L. is designed to develop, organize and promote activities, which are designed as deterrents from delinquent behavior among children and adolescents. Turlock P.A.L. finances all of its programs through personal and corporate donations.     GENERAL INFORMATIONClasses may be canceled due to lack of enrollment. Please make every effort to pre-register so a class will not be canceled unnecessarily.

    REFUND POLICYRefunds will be given on cancellations prior to the first class, less a $10 cancellation fee. Failure to attend a program will not be granted a refund. If you are not satisfied with any of our programs, please contact the program supervisor, 668-5594.

    CLASS TRANSFERS AND/OR LATE FEESAny class changes will be charged an $8 transfer fee. After the class start date, all transfers will require instructors approval.If enrollment is being accepted after the class start date or registration date, a $5 late fee will be added to the class fee.

    WAIT LIST POLICYAnyone can be put on the waiting list for a class. If a customer withdraws from a class thus creating an open spot, the first person on the waiting list is called to accept or decline. Class spots are not held or reserved and are not finalized until payment is made. Waiting lists do not roll over.

    PHOTO RELEASE POLICYPlease be advised that all participants involved in any program or special event are subject to being photographed. Such photographs may be used by the City of Turlock without an obligation to provide compensation to those photographed.
