March 2016 Meetings

The perfect combination of teamwork and

communication can help accomplish many

goals. This can be witnessed in different set-

tings, from sporting events (last year’s Kan-

sas City Royals win, for example) to projects

soon to occur in the Sedalia-Pettis County

area in March and April 2016.

The City of Sedalia and Pettis County are

active members of the Pioneer Trails Region-

al Planning Commission (PTRPC), an organi-

zation based out of Concordia, Missouri. Per

PTRPC’s website, www.trailsrpc.org, this

Commission assists the counties of Johnson,

Lafayette, Pettis and Saline and the cities within

this area, “to promote and implement planning

activities in the areas of eco-

nomic development, homeland

security, solid waste manage-

ment and transportation.”

PTRPC has helped the City of

Sedalia bring two major

services to our citizens; the

Yard Waste Facility and the

Recycling Center. The ability

to receive grant funding from

PTRPC helped the City

purchase multiple pieces of

equipment that are currently

in use at both facilities.

Sedalia and Pettis County residents will soon

have a way to safely dispose of their household

hazardous waste at a facility located near the

City’s Compost Facility at 27882 Highway U.

Those wishing to use this service will first need

to contact Executive Administrative Assistant

Ellen Cross to schedule an appointment: (660)

827-3000 x 158. A complete list of items ac-

cepted at the Sedalia Household Hazardous

Waste Drop Off Facility is available at

www.trailsrpc.org/solidwaste.

On April 23, 2016, there will be a Pettis

County Electronic Waste Pick Up held on the

Missouri State Fairgrounds from 9:00 a.m. to

12:00 p.m. Please see information listed below.

SEDALIA ANIMAL SHELTER STAFF PIC Sedalia Animal Shelter

February 2016 Report Lucky is the person who adopts

Stitch, our Sedalia Animal Shel-

ter Staff’s March Pet of the

Month.

Stitch is a 7 year old pit bull

who just loves to play and have

his tummy rubbed! That white

chest area you see is actually a

storage facility full of love for

all humans and other animals

large and small.

Make some time to go visit

Stitch; you will be amazed at the

conversation you two will have

– he has his own personal array

of sounds to let you know exact-

ly what he’s thinking... mainly,

“More petting and hugs, please.”
