Please review and confirm the attached layout of the wall construction jointsfor the Clarifiers

RFI PACE PERC OV-05 Clarifier Construction Joints NEW 8/24/2012 8/27/2012 8/23/2012

Nate provided the response to this RFI in the field. A written response willbe provided by 9/5/12

Sheet S3.2 Details 109 & 110 show a material under the slab that we areassuming is Agg Base. This material is only shown under the 8'' slab andnot the footings. I talked the soils engineer (LOR) and they are not surewhat this is or why it is being called out. Please confirm if Agg Base oranother material is required under the 8'' slab. If required, please let usknow how thick material needs to be. Please also confirm that no materialis necessary under the footings.

RFI PACE PERC OV-06 Agg Base at Blower Bldg Slab NEW 8/24/2012 8/28/2012 8/31/2012

A monolithic 2500 psi concrete encasement per detail 105/s3.1 isstructurally acceptable provided the encasement extends to the bottom ofthe mat slab. Also extend 5'-0 past the mat as shown on the structuraldrawings.

Sheet S3.1 Detail 101 calls for 3000 psi slurry under the pipe encasement5'-0'' past the edge of footing. Sheet S3.1 Detail 105 calls for 1000 psiconcrete for the pipe encasement. We do not understand the need for aslurry mat under the pipe encasement. Overaa proposes to place theconcrete encasement monolithically with 2500 psi concrete per submittal16. If required, we could increase the thickness of the concrete under to thepipe to compensate for the slurry mat. We would also like to stop the pipeencasement 2'-0'' past the edge of footing per industry standard. Pleaseadvise if this is acceptable.

RFI PACE PERC OV-07 Pipe Encasment under Clarifiers NEW 8/24/2012 8/29/2012

Confirmed. Bottom slab elevation on M3.0 needs to be changed toelevation 2835.25 (18” thick slab), in accordance with the Structural Plans. Please note, pipe concrete encasement will be changed to reflect the 6”difference. 8/3/12: PACE, RM

Sheet M3.0 Section B shows at top of slab elevation of 2836.75 and bottomelevation of 2834.75 (2 FT slab). Sheet S3.1 Detail 102 calls for the slab tobe 18'' (1.5 FT). Please confirm that the bottom slab elevation on M3.0needs to be changed to elevation 2835.25.

RFI PERC OVERAA OV-01 Clarifier Slab Elevations NEW 8/6/2012 8/3/2012 8/3/2012

The Schedule is acceptable, with the following exceptions: 1. Shopdrawings shall be provided for pipe materials and accessories, includingpipe layouts (where applicable) in accordance with the projectspecifications. 2. Buried 12” RAS Line – Confirm location of buried 12”C900 at RAS. No buried 12” C900 PVC for RAS? 3. Buried 18” MLSS Line– It makes sense to use all DIP for this line rather than switch materials, asonly short spool pieces would be used at the existing MLSS line tie-in/valvelocation. 4. RAS PMP STA 6” Line – Gravity is referenced. This line ispumped. Material is acceptable. 5. WAS Exposed/SUB 6” Line – Pleasenote: WAS DIP line inside of pump station may be reduced to 4” at the flowmeter and then switch back to 6” at RAS PMP STA 6” Line. 6. C900 islisted for all PVC pipe. C905 shall be used for 14” and larger pipe sizes. 7.Spec section 02506 is listed for CL 51 buried pipe. Section 02565 shall beused for all buried ductile iron yard piping. 8. Interior CML coat shall includea final asphaltic sealant coat in accordance with the project specifications.8/3/12 PACE, RM

Overaa has review the different piping spec's has put together the attachedpipe schedule for Adelanto. Please confirm this schedule is acceptable forconstruction

Pressure relief valves are not required.8/6/12: PACE, RM

Sheet S3.1 Detail 102 Note 14 calls for pressure relief valves at 20'-0'' O.C.around perimeter. These relief valves are not on the Mechanical Drawingsnor can I find a spec. Please verify the need for pressure relief valves. Ifrequired, please provide a spec.

The scum pump discharge pipes, and plug and check valves are 4”,following the 3”x4” reducer at the swept discharge connection on each ofthe pumps. 8/3/12: PACE, RM

Sheet M3.1 RAS/WAS Pump Discharge & Sheet M3.2 Section B calls outthe scum line to be 4''. Sheet M0.2 Valve List & Sheet I5.0 calls out thevalves as 3'' with the piping changing to 4'' after the valves. Please confirmvalve & piping sizes in this area.
