NO REGISTRATIONS TAKEN BEFORE THAT DATE. Registration forms will be accepted at Berlin City Hall starting Monday, May 9th.

REGISTRATION POLICY The department reserves the right to cancel or modify the times, locations, combine classes, change instructors, and/or costs of any program should the need arise. NOTE: You will not be notified of dates, times, or confirmation. Consider yourself enrolled for the program unless someone from the Parks and Recreation Department contacts you.

AGE & GRADE REQUIREMENTS All age requirements are as of the first day of the program. All grade requirements are the grade the child is going into.

INCLEMENT WEATHER Program cancellations or modifications due to weather conditions will be announced on WISS Radio AM 1100 prior to program start time. You can also call the Parks & Recreation Department at 361-5437

RESIDENT VS. NON-RESIDENT RECREATION FEES

Residential recreation program fees apply only to individuals who reside within Berlin City limits. City residents contribute to the overall funding of the Parks & Recreation Department through residential property taxes. From time to time, there are programs that are co-sponsored with the school district that do allow for school district residents to participate at a res-ident rate. Please note the following abbreviations used: RES = Resident of the City of Berlin SDR = Berlin School District Resident NR = Non-Resident

PROGRAM UPDATES In an effort to produce this brochure in a timely manner, there are programs that may not have been finalized before printing. Watch for flyers as well as the Berlin Journal for additional programs.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS If your child has a medical condition which warrants our knowledge, please contact our office at 361-5437.

INSURANCE The City of Berlin does NOT carry individual accident insurance. Injuries may occur while participating in or en-route to any program.

ADA COMPLIANCE The City of Berlin intends to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability. The city will make reasonable accommodations to disabled individuals. Call 361-5437 for more information.

REFUNDS Any participant wishing to receive a refund must notify the department before the second scheduled program start date. A full refund will be issued if a program is cancelled. Programs not meeting min-imum registration will be cancelled, and refunds is-sued.

Center. The Aquatic Center Duty Guard may shut down the pool after giving a 1-hour notice to swimmers if there are fewer than 20 swimmers in the pool. Review for closings due to weather will occur at designated times of 11 am and 2:30 pm. Decisions on closing/or re-opening will then be determined. Listen to WISS 1090AM for closings or call the Aquatic Center at 361-5426.

NEW this year will be the offering of TWO programs for T-Ball, which we are hoping will create smaller, more man-ageable quality classes. Skill development & understanding of the game is the goal, along with batting, throwing & catching practicing. Bring a glove. JR. GOLF LESSONS

Lessons provide an intro to the game of golf, club selection, etiquette, golf rules, and proper swing technique. Sessions will include class discussion, lessons and two hours of course play. The program is affiliated with the Professional Golf Association & U.S. Kids Golf. Participants need their own golf clubs. TENNIS LESSONS Come join us this summer as we resume our tennis program. Pewee lessons will serve as an introduction to tennis. Beginners and Intermediate students learn fundamentals of the game such as forehand, back hand, volley & court positioning. A few racquets are available for use for those who do not have their own. All players must have tied tennis shoes. No other shoes will be allowed on the court. A hat or visor and sunglasses are strongly recommended. CARVING 101 (Youth or Adult)

The ancient technique of whittling is used to create a decorative game fish from a block of wood. Using a box-cutter type knife, students will make their choice of trout,

northern, bass, perch, or bluegill. The piece will then be painted with the finished project set on a display pedestal. All equipment included. . RUMPELSTILTSKIN - MISSOULA CHILDREN’S THEATRE Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) is the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre. A touring team from MCT will be arriving at the historic Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake on Monday June 20 with a set, lights, costumes, props, and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play...except the cast. Students in grades 1-12 (or week-long visitors to Green Lake) are invited to come to an open audition at the opera house from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on that date. 50-60 local students will be cast to perform in MCT’s production of Rumpelstiltskin. Because of costume limitations there is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. Rehearsals will be conducted every day from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the Thrasher Opera House. Then incredibly, after only one week of rehearsals, two public performances will be pre-sented on Saturday, June 25 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. There is no cost to the student or parents for this unique and invaluable opportunity for the week-long workshop. BERLIN YOUTH WRESTLING CLUB

Registration takes place in early December each year and the season runs until the end of March. Students in grades K-8 are eligible to have fun while learning wrestling and gaining valuable life skills. For more information contact Tim Roberts at 920-229-7670.

BERLIN SOCCER CAMP Participants will be taught fundamental soccer skills and tactical training. Players are grouped by age and skill level. The skills and tactics taught are essential tools that players need during their developmental years. Proper execution in the age-specific areas of physical agility, mental awareness, and tactical decision making are emphasized during the camp. Players will learn through FUN and challenging skills to build TEAM SPIRIT and SPORTSMANSHIP. Each player will receive a camp t-shirt, certificate, and chances at winning other great prizes during the camp. RIVERSIDE PARK CAMPGROUND Campground is open from: May 15 thru October 15 Check out is at 12:00 noon Registration fees are to be paid on arrival. Firewood is for sale at Registration. It is important to recognize the signs, symptoms, and behaviors of concussions. By signing this form you are stating that you understand the importance of recognizing and responding to the signs, symptoms, and behaviors of a concussion or head injury. It is the parent’s responsibility to communicate to his/her child the importance of reporting a suspect-ed concussion to coaches. I agree that I and/or my child must be removed from practice/play if a concussion is suspected. I understand that it is my responsibility to seek medical treatment if a suspected concussion is reported to me. I understand that I and/or my child cannot return to practice/play until providing written clearance from an ap-propriate health care provider to his/her coach. I understand and/or have communicated to my child the possible consequences of returning to practice/play too soon.
