We’ve Achieved Philips’ Lighting Green Status!

City Electric Company, Inc. has been recognized by Philips Lighting as achieving the highest status in their

Sustainability Program: The Green Leadership Status.

This Program recognizes only those electrical distributors who have demonstrated their commitment to the Sustainability Movement by investing in training, dedicating time, and utilizing their resources toward

providing responsible solutions.

City Electric was one of less than fifteen distributors nationwide that had been awarded this honor in July of 2009 by achieving a better understanding of environmental issues and offering environmentally responsible solutions to

their customers.




To achieve this status, City Electric Company, Inc. had to prove their successes as a Sustainability Leader across a myriad of disciplines. Although the list of requirements is quite lengthy, some of the criteria met by the Company include the following practices:

Philips Green Leadership Distributor

• Providing on-going training to employees regarding “green” and “sustainability” measures. The staff must demonstrate a keen understanding of sustainable lighting solutions.

• Retaining at least one full-time Lighting Specialist and Lighting Audit Expert to help customers find the right solutions for their applications.

• Providing lighting solutions to customers that are not only “Green,” but that also help the customers increase profitability.

• Taking part in a Recycling Program. (City Electric Company actually provides this service to customers, as well, for electrical products and more).

• Selling “green” – “green” products must represent the majority of the distributor’s product sales.




City Electric Company is an Approved Partner in National Grid’s Energy Efficiency Trade Ally Program




We are a continuing partner in the Program which allows City Electric Representatives to work directly with the National Grid Commercial Energy Consultant Team to assist customers in finding energy solutions, expedite projects, and earn incentives!

• Each year we must meet the rigid criteria set forth by National Grid to maintain our partnership.

• In 2011 The City Electric Team logged over 600 Mega Watt Hours Saved on completed projects; Helping to save our customers thousands of dollars on electric bills by providing custom solutions and products to meet the specific needs of a diverse customer base!
